I also have a prolite. But I like this 6mm EKO better. It was a choice between more width(5mm one)or more support. This has both cushion and firmness that this 49 year old need. It does have a strong scent but that doesn't bother me. It's heavier but it's worth it to have that comfort. No towel: Not too slippery for down dog, not too sticky during transitions. I will use a towel on top of this mat for ease of cleaning and hopefully longevity though. Hope this helps!

It's amazing, so so happy with it!! Let's be real - I opened it up and was quickly regretting my decision, it smelled awful! I aired it out for 2 days and took it to yoga. So cushy!!! Extremely comfortable and the smell wasnt there. It does have an earthy smell, but it doesnt bother me. I really enjoy it during yoga. The original fishy smell is gone though

I practice Baptiste style yoga daily. I have tried other mats. But find the EKo has the most dry grip with the natural rubber. And excellent cushion. Then after my hands get sweaty, I pull my yogitoes towel over my mat. I find this to be the best combo.

I decided to upgrade from my old generic mat and love my choice. It's sturdy and not slippery at all. I love that it's eco friendly. It was hard to choose a color because they are all so fun.

So pleased I decided to treat myself to a new mat. I've had a rubber one for the last twelve years which I've been delighted with - I use it alot as I teach. So I wanted rubber again but hoped for extra cushioning. The manuka pro certainly provides that. Fantastic level of non slip and very beautiful too. Couldn't be happier with it!

I have thinner mm version of the EKO from a few years ago that I love. I have tried multiple mats and nothing has lasted as long with a great grip as my Manduka Eko. I have already gotten so many compliments on the color of this one!

I upgraded from a Gaim Eco Performance 6mm mat a few months ago and I am so glad that I did. The Manduka Eko 6mm has much more support in gripping the mat and holding poses that I previously was not able to deepen and hold for as long. It's allowed me to find new engagement in many poses (downward dog especially). The only minor cons that I perceive are that: (1) the mat still has a less-than-desirable-but-not-distracting rubber smell which will probably dissipate after time and use; and (2) that the material on the top of the mat is challenging to clean with paper towel or even a small towel... it just has so much grip that it grips the small loose fibers of the towel and leaves debris behind. Overall SO happy to use this mat and would recommend to anyone who is serious about their practice. It works very well for hot vinyasa as well (with a mat towel of course).

This is for EKO manduka mat. I really tried to like it. Got the vinegar mat cleaner, aired out, used it but I manduka stuff makes me slip! So frustrating! I am going to try Jade and see what happens.

I find this one heavy and the rubber smell is still pretty strong, even after cleaning

Yoga Mat is ok, not slipping, but extremely stinks likes gum.
If I had decided again I wouldn't buy it

Overall it's a good mat. It has great grip and not slippery. It provides very sturdy support yet still not harsh on knees at all. However, the color is definitely not the same as shown in picture. It's dusty plum/purple/mauve. Picture here is quite pink/coral, which I find misleading and a quite disappointing. I wish it was true to color. Initial smell is quite strong as noted in the product description but can be aired out. Not a problem to me.

Nice quality and love that it is made of natural rubber but it is very heavy to take back and forth to yoga classes especially if you have any back issues.
