First of all, these shoes are gorgeous! The upper lining under the shoelace, stretches. The shoelace is a big gorgeous ribbon. I wear a medium wide width and these were a bit narrow by the toes area. Having said this, the combination of spadrille and athletic shoe sole is not a good combination. Perhaps if it was one or the other, there would be more flexability. This combo sole is completely stiff. You cannot bend the shoe at all therefore when you walk, there's no flexing on the sole. At first, my foot came out with each step so I had to tighten the lace. I tried them on, walked about 5 steps and took them off and my feet are hurting. They are so beautiful I thought perhaps I could take them to have the athletic shoe portion taken off but I'm not sure they would work then. The way both are glued together (spadrille & athletic sole) together, I don't know if it could be removed. It is very well made. They are also very very heavy. I wear a wide shoe, I'm 54 years old, diabetic, and comfort is a must. I would still say try them. They might work for you as the previous reviewers gave 5 stars. Besides, Zappos makes returns so easy. If they work for you, you will not be disappointed. I haven't seen shoes so pretty in years.

This shoes are comfortable but not flexible so I don t think I could use them for travel to walk all day. I am size 38 or US 8 and purchase this in 38 but they feel a little bit between and 7.5 and 8 us. They are beautiful and fashionable. You wont regret your purchase, they are cute and very stylish. They look perfect with a dress, pants or shorts.

These are absolutely adorable in person. Such a unique shoes I'm so glad I purchased these for summer ? make sure you go up a size I'm normally a 8 and ordered a 9 .. fit like a glove

Love this shoe and its style - ordered a 38 (which is my usual) and they are just a tad too small. Sending back and ordering the 39 before they are gone!

The free people espadrille are very cool and appropriate for our current weather. They look great and feel great. I wished they had better arch support but they are very comfortable and easy to insert.

Love these! So cute, comfortable and different looking, for someone who has to wear closed toed shoes in the summer. They are pricey but seem totally worth it! (Note they are heavy in the soles so this might take some getting used to) I’m looking to buy another color!

Absolutely Beautiful… Slips off the back of your heel

Just got these & they are even better looking than in the photos! The fit & feel is excellent. The fabric under the lace up area is a stretchy material which makes it more of a slip on type feel. I have high arches & for me the arch support is perfect.

I have wide feet and these shoes feel super narrow. Also, during my first wearing, I got blisters on my ankles and the shoe body (the stretchy bootie underneath the ribbon ties) was so tight on my right foot (which, admittedly, is bigger than my left foot) that I had to take the shoe off while driving. I hate leaving reviews after a first wear because I definitely have to break shoes in, but the espadrille and other materials of this shoe feel like it's going to be a marathon, not a sprint. Still worth it though, they are so cute!

Soles are hard as a rock, so the shoe A. is miserably uncomfortable and B. tends to flop off the foot. Had they been more true to size, I could at least have added a softer insole. For that much money, they could have afforded a soft platform instead of hard plastic or wood. Plus, they could have engineered it so the laces would come off. Cleaning them while attached to shoe is tedious and cumbersome. My eyes love them; my feet recoil at the thought.

The shoes looks very nice, but it’s hard to put your foot Inside the shoe and when i walk, The back of the shoe is pulling down and my foot is sleeping out I had to return!

I wanted to love them but there’s no flexibility so when I walked it sounded like two concrete blocks clomping around. Cute design but very easy to lose the definition of the criss cross design because it wanted to “lean” one way or another. The best thing about the purchase is working with Zappos. They are super fast and returns are easy.

These are the cutest shoes ever and I am so sad. I am a true size 11 and they are too small.

Cute sneaker but it was heavy and stiff. It felt like walking on a brick. My feet were tired after walking around the house for 30 minutes. They are impossible to get on without a shoe horn.

Beautiful but not practical. The slip on feature is nice. The ribbons ties wrinkle and aren’t as crisp as pictured. May as well be a stiletto - if beauty > practicality for you, I would recommend. Otherwise, take the many reviews seriously.

Beautiful shoe that is uncomfortable comparable to wearing heels. Please stop promoting EU 41 as a US 11; that size is barely a US10.

I could not get these shoes to not slip, at my heel. Tried socks, no socks....still didn't work. As much as I LOVEED them, could not justify keeping them.

Definitely good for fashioned but very uncomfortable .

These are the most adorable shoes but are truly painful to wear. I couldn't even walk from the bus stop to work (2 blocks) before both feet/ankles were pinching and so, so pained. Worse than some cheap high heels! I'm not sure what the problem is but they're going back.
