Husband has high arch wide large feet (13W). We bought 5 different brands of wing tips similar style dress shoes for him to try and ended up keepng this one. The rest he couldn't even put his feet in as the openings were not wide enough for his thick feet. But this one is amazing: he can easily put his feet in and he said, "it's like walking on clouds". So if you have really wide thick large feet and want a pair of comfortable high quality dress shoes, THIS is it. Will buy one more when it's on sale!

I ended up returning these simply because the shoe looked very large on my foot. The fit felt comfortable, but the style simply looked large, particularly in the length, compared to another brand of wingtip oxfords that I own. The D width in these seemed comparable to an E in that other brand, so I would have to say that these run large. The quality was very good. The leather feels supple and has a good appearance, as full-grain leather should. The workmanship in the stitching and broguing was excellent. For the price, particularly if you can get them on sale, these are a good value. Again, I simply thought that they made my feel look huge.

Great style and look

Heal step is a little funny until they break in, but very comfortable. Wish they'd last longer though.

I normally wear a 12W, but these were too wide so I returned them.

So sad about Johnson and Murphy. They used to make great shoes made in the USA. Great quality at a good price, I had many pair and loved them more than Allen Edmonds that cost twice as much. Now everything is made outside the USA and Covid made them drop their higher end shoes. I have very wide feet and the 4E width they used to make was the better option than anything else I could find. The materials they are using are still good, but I wonder if anyone really took a look at the finished product before it was sent out. Stitching was mediocre and the leather wasn't stretched correctly actually causing wrinkles in the upper. The worst part was that the heal was soooo much lower than the sole that when walking heal to toe that felt and sounded like "klump-klump-klump" with every step - unacceptable. Other reviewers were correct that the shoe is MUCH longer than other shoes of the same size. I held them up to a same size pair of Allen Edmonds, and the heal and sole extend much farther than the leather, making them look like clown shoes. They are going back today.
