Love this hat. I had it in a smaller size because I used to wear my hair in an extremely short pixie (like, 1/2-inch hair all around). Now my hair is much longer--and the hat no longer fits! So I got the Wanderer in a larger size (went from 7 3/8 to 7 5/8). Fits perfectly. This isn't a wide-brimmed sun hat--for instance, I wouldn't wear it to the beach to keep the sun off me. But it's great for hiking: the brim keeps the sun out of my eyes and off my cheeks, and gives me some protection on the sides and back of my head as well. It's basically indestructible and since it looks worn in from the start, it looks "right" no matter what you do to it. I recommend it highly.

The XXL fit my pumpkin head perfectly. The slightly wider brim shadows me from the summer sun splendidly. The material, a canvas, is just right. My wife says it looks good on, too. Couldn't ask for more.

This is a genuine Made in Canada Tilley.
Since Alex Tilley sold the brand there are several being made in China. Not a bad thing but I am a fan of the Canadian built, I own eight.
Great hats, worth every dollar and more.

My 7th Tilley, all are Canadian built and fabulous hats.
I’ve been eyeing the Wanderer for a while, better than I’d expected.
Like all my Tilleys a masterpiece of craftsmanship.
These hats are addictive to buy and a pleasure to own.

Size and fit are great. Terrific hat. I’d prefer a smaller brim, but you take what you can get. Top quality and a lifetime warranty.

After owning my first Tilley hat for 24 years!! It finally needed to be replaced. Tilley honored the guarantee and sent me a brand new hat!! No fuss no problems. Don't look elsewhere if you want a quality hat you are in the right place!

Absolutely love this hat. I'm on my second one after the first one wore out and Tilley replaced it. It's great sun and rain protection for work, and stylish for leisure.

Excellent craftsmanship and love the enzyme wash makes hat softer and more comfortable to wear. Wide brim keeps sun off my face.

Gone is the quality and interaction of the Tilley company that made them the best. Made in China and no guarantee of replacement . Sad to see

Original T3
About 10 years ago I found a T3 Tilley floating in the lake (no ID inside, no body attached). Since then I have worn the treasured hat hiking and on several long sailing ocean passages. Between the salt, sweat, and sun, it is finally wearing through. Repairs have been made with sailcloth and stitching,.... but it's time has come.
T3W Replacement
Today I received a T3W that I ordered as a replacement. While a fine hat, I am a little disappointed that there are No Maple Leaf Brass Snaps, and surprisingly NO Brag Tags. These were quirky items that gave the hat personality and character. (Many people enjoyed story about the elephant eating the hat, and the zookeepers retrieval) The patina on the brass snaps and eyelets , while dull, reflected many past memories and adventures.
Sadly, a Tilley is now... just another hat.
Sometimes changes are good, sometimes you have to maintain tradition... and quit while your ahead.
I hope I can get 10 years out of the new hat, but will keep my original as a " wearable log book" of memories.
Thanks

A year ago, I was vacationing in Alaska and needed a hat to survive the wind and rain; I went to the local REI and found a best friend. After the trip, we wound up with a puppy labrador retriever and I have been out in thick and thick! Rain and winter mix, my Tilley is my comfort, and I can sinch that thing on my head! I swear one windy day I almost left my boots, but the Tilley stayed on.

I'd had my previous T3 Wanderer hat for approx. 18 years but unfortunately the material around the forehead gave up (guessing due to sweat and maybe not washing it enough) and started to split......a bit of a sad day as I initially had it as a fathers day present, but all was not lost because as I was about to throw it away I noticed the guarantee for life label!!!!!!! So 10 days later and after a couple of emails my new T3 Wanderer in khaki arrives and all it cost was 6 p & p!!! Brilliant hat and brilliant service, many thanks to Tilly.......original T3 has left the building, long reign new T3!!!

One of the grommets popped out after a month. Tilleys decision to move much of their manufacturing to China was a poor one.

This is a comfortable hat, really comfortable.
i sized it like Tilley Recommends. and it fits perfectly.
it without a doubt works well in the sun and holds its brim shape in the wind. i haven't worn it in extremely windy conditions but windy enough that a boonie hat would be flying around.
the material is thick but not too heavy and it feels soft and pliable.
i haven't worn it in the rain yet but i`m sure i will.
it is more then a boonie hat, and more then a typical sun hat or brimmed hat.
but it feels like its more and its worth more, it is very well built and well thought out.
it does get hot in direct sun especially on a very hot day like i was using it in my yard, i don't know what hat wouldn't get hot with extreme heat and sun and no real breeze.
i will say when there was a breeze even a slight one the large open grommets in the hat moved air quite well. and considering i got the dark green color that's helpful.
i am without a doubt happy with this hat and highly recommend it.

I own several Tilley hats, from a 35 year old original to a modern Airflow. I bought the Wanderer a couple of years ago because it had the look and feel of my former military jungle lids - totally comfortable, functional and with sense of being purposefully relaxed. It has faded, but that just adds to the right look and it is now firmly my favorite for everything but formal wear. Perfect for dog walks and long, sunny days in rural France.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
Size up for this hat - at least one size, probably two. I took measurements according to the instructions and it did not fit, although other Tilley hats do when I follow the instructions. In terms of appearance, it's fairly rumpled-looking, not crisp like in the photos or like the other Tilley hats I've tried. The brim is rather small. I did like the color options - nice if you're looking for something a little more bold.
