Customer Reviews Osprey 42 L Transporter Wheeled Carry-On

Let me begin by saying I am a huge fan of Osprey. The design, build, and back some of the best bags on the planet! I have several of their pieces that I have used daily for the past four years. This bag is so close to being top notch! It is fairly lightweight, rolls great, has a good mix of pockets and open spaces. It falls a bit short in a couple of design areas though. First, the concave rear panel and single handle pole reduce effective packing space. This bag is difficult to pack if you have rigid items to go into the main bag space. The second main issue I have is when the bag is nearing capacity, the laptop pocket becomes unusable. I had to remove all my items from the interior pockets on the lid to allow my 13" laptop to fit but, the rounded shape of the bag really pushes the laptop out which seems to make is susceptible to impacts on the bag. This seems to be partly due to the shape of the main zipper which wants to pull the lid around the bag instead of just zipping flat against the front surface. I am debating about returning and trying out the Ozone Global Carry-On that is the same volume but almost a pound lighter.
