I thought these were nice. I have a hard time finding boots to fit calves. Mine are 16.5 inches. There is a extra calf room which is a look I like. I think it makes your legs look skinnier. I am 6'1 so I wish they were at least 1 inch taller in shaft but will keep them.

Love these boots! Wore them all day at work, they don’t need anytime to break in! And they’re water proof!

Just out of the box, I noticed that this shoe has a weird, cheap looking bead detail on the top of the sole of the shoe. It looks like it would fall of with use. Also, the shaft did zip over my larger, muscular calf, but the material did not stay flat and caused a weird ripple in the material at the outside of my calf. Also, when I walked the material cut sharply into my ankles. Not a fan.

I actually liked these boots a lot. I have very wide calf’s (19 inches) and have trouble finding boots that fit. Even in the wide calf options. The quality is high. I am replacing an old pair of Rockports that lasted years. In the end I found a boot that was cheaper and a little more my style and came up to my knees from a smaller company. Would have happily kept these if I had too.

Love the fit and size. Boots are coming apart only had them barely a month. Disappointed in the quality. How and where to get them repaired....so sad these were for my birthday.

This boot was listed as having an 18.5" calf, but these were barely able to zip and my calf is 18". The boot is really hard to get into since the foot by the zipper has some kind of leather guard there. The leather is pieced on these boots in fairly obvious places, which I did not like. Also the boot buckles on the outside and front ankle and this doesn't look good.

I really wanted to like these boots. RIght height, right color, and waterproof. Unfortunately, they did gap slightly at the top, lending the boots the "swashbuckling pirate" look other reviewers have mentioned. Ultimately, after looking at them in my closet for two months, I tried them on again and realized they rub together and make an annoying "swoosh" sound when I walk because the zippers are on the inseam (?) and catch on one another. Next time I will look for boots that zip on the outer calf. These are going back.

Beautiful boot. This is the second time the wide calf boots were not as wide as I needed them. I measured my calf which is 17 and the boot circumference was supposed to be 18 1/2. VERY DISAPPOINTED. There must be a stylish boot that accomdates a 17 inch calf.

I have wide feet and calves and have never really had a pair of comfortable tall boots before but these are great! Ordered them in my usual size (10W) and they are perfect to wear over leggings or jeans. Wear them all day at work with no issues and no breaking in.

Shoe is really nice leather, looks expensive, well made shoe. I have ridiculously wide calves and it is very hard for me to find boots that fit my calf, these fit easily, zipped right up and usually it’s a bit of a struggle. They do crease at the ankle a bit, which I always hate, but that happens with all of my high boots. It does dig into my ankle a bit, but think they will break in fast! Highly recommend, especially those with thick calves who struggle to find boots that fit. These are a good looking pair of boots!

The circumference on these is not 18 inches. More like 16. And I second the person who said the way the seams join together on the side makes an unsightly gap. So disappointing because they are cute and I wanted a waterproof pair of boots.

The foot itself felt great and true to size -- but the top of the boot was too wide, even for my muscular calf, and the leather itself was stiff. This, along with the styling (the overlapping edges just seemed weird), are resulting in a return.

The fit of this boot was spot on. I ordered the 9W & they were extremely comfortable - even allowing for a mid-weight sock. The issue came with the calf. While it is a Wide Calf, the zipping up (especially with jeans) was tenuous. I did get the zippers up, only to have this gaping area just under the buckle where the boot is actually open (the shaft is only stitched together to just a few inches above the ankle). It was really unfortunate, and detracted from the overall look of this boot. A shame for sure, as I liked the detailing edging. Perhaps someone with much slimmer calves wouldn't have caused the gapping, but honestly, I think this is just a design flaw. Rockport should have stitched this boot up past the buckle, in my opinion. Seriously, the buckle is the thing holding that calf together. Back they went! Cheers to Zappos for making returns/exchanges so easy! I ended up going with the Born North Wide Calf - however, they unfortunately, do not come in a Wide footbed, so had to go up a ½ size. Rockport missed the boat on this boot.

Stiff and fairly uncomfortable, too small when I ordered my normal size. However, the top of the boot is extremely wide, and formed a bell around my calf. I am tall and have muscular calves, and I felt like I was swimming in them (and this was the normal width, not the "wide calf" version). If you have trouble finding boots that fit your calves, these may be for you.

Not as wide calf as stated and I was very disappointed because it’s a beautiful boot. I have 16.5 inch calf and wear a 8 b and the calf width was about a 16. I could barely zip them up. They do have a side buckle that I played around with the buckle and finally zipped it up, but I felt it was too much trouble getting them on and off.
