I normally love NAOTs. I’ve owned several pairs (different styles than this one). I am sad to say that the design of this style is seriously flawed. When I wore them with socks today, the removable insoles quickly migrated their way out the back of the shoe as I walk - even just a few feet. It happens fast, and they will migrate out the shallow heel area a good two inches. Today, just walking around the office, I was regularly having to stop, and tap the heel of my foot and shoe to return the insoles to their proper location - or removing the shoes entirely to reset the insoles. Next, I tried wearing the shoes without socks. In that instance even with very dry feet, there is a light suction that develops between the top of each foot and the shoe, creating a soft but audible farting like sound as I walk. Either way, I’ve already worn them too much to return them, trying to make them work. I really like the overall style and comfort - except when the insoles move out of the shoes as I walk, of course.

Excellent shoe for comfort and casual "clog" or even mule style. I'm 7.5 usually, and 8 in running shoes, but I have a quite wide forefoot (the classic "duck" foot with narrow heel and high arches. I took a 38 in this, but if my foot was the slightest bit longer, or I wanted to wear socks, I would have gone with 39. I also have small bunions and lots of foot pain from drug-induced arthritis and neuropathy from chemo. My feet are also super bony and have no fat pads on the bottom any longer. This shoes is better than walking barefoot! It's amazingly comfortable and actually very cute (I got the silver and it's lovely; the folds add a bit of "artsy" interest to the show, in my view.) It's quite nicely cushioned and I have no worries about walking on streets or cobblestones. My high arch fits fine, and the leather is very soft and doesn't pressure the foot anywhere--it's like a soft kiss of somewhat softened butter! If you are worried about not liking a "lip" on the back of the shoe (I don't like that feel if I can feel it) , I found it there was one , but it isn't a big difference from the footbed and it doesn't bother me at all, and I didn't notice my foot slipping sideways to hit it at all when I walked, which sometimes it can in shoes like this. I like slip ons and clogs ; been living in the Dansko Ingrid since about 1991, and still like them : Danskos in comparison are a bit higher, stiffer, and clunkier (but would protect toes more if you are working in these, because of the softness of the leather in these vs. in the Dansko), but tbh I think this Naot may now become my go to (except in rain when I want more height?) I have a Wolky clog that is very cool looking, too, and it is super comfortable, but it is not quite as cushioned on the bottom as this one and I was doubtful about walking in it for 8 hours a day. I have no doubts about that much walking with this shoe at all. 26,000 steps a day you say? I'm all in with these shoes! I'm planning on taking these to Europe along with a waterproof low boot (the Ecco Hydromax -love it! so comfy and soft leather too), and in summer and fall, the Parteo will come along with a fancy tennis shoe to Canada and Europe again. If in doubt, try this shoe. Don't know if it comes in other than black, but if it did, I would buy it. A metallic navy or bronze would be nice. :) Love Zappos--ordered two sizes so I have confidence I've got the correct one.

A bit pricy, but I love the fit. Love the style. Love the color. Love the soft leather. Wear them with anything.

Had to order a half size larger than usual Still a little narrow. Otherwise they were very comfortable padding and I love the style and color.

THESE ARE VERY COMFORTABLE CLOGS/MULES. I HAVE BEEN BUYING NAOT SHOES FOR MANY YEARS. THE QUALITY IS AMAZING. THEY ARE WORTH EVERY PENNY YOU PAY FOR THEM.

People will notice these shoes. The leather is soft and comfy no break in time needed. These shoes are not for people with narrow feet. When I first got them my feet swam in them because they were wide, but I was having trouble with arthritis in my right foot and I needed a closed toe for the winter that were not boots. I have orthotic inserts and took the sole out and put my orthotics in, and they worked great. I am able to wear winter socks with these also. So greatful for an atractive shoe that can take inserts. A definite lifesaver!

Love the style and fit of Paretao. I have large bunions and on each foot; however, these shoes are very comfortable for me. I only wish more colors were offered and also another shoe styled like this but includes a back (rather than open).

This shoe feels like you put a glove on your foot. Absolutely love the comfort.

I love love this shoe. The leather is soft, the fit is great....I have a narrow foot and after reading the reviews, I just had to try it. The fit is perfect, and I so wanted to keep this shoe. Out of four shoes, only one is acceptable in appearance. It LOOKS LIKE an expensive shoe, but the other three look like a very novice was trying to make a shoe. First of all, the grain on the leathers don't match, and the loose leather just looks so messy. One of the right shoes is way higher in the instep, making it too big and hard to walk. I did not mind the price, but the quality does not match that price, so back they must go. So disappointed!

I have the closed bootie version of these in black and brown and love them! I ordered this pair to keep as in house shoes/slippers. The fit is fabulous. As t you can see the shoe on the right doesn’t match the left one. Super annoying and such a disappointment, especially for this price. I’m tempted to ask Zappos to send me another right one. Otherwise I highly recommend them.

Comfy, just the right amount of heel, wearing them daily with and without socks.

Very beautiful well made shoe. It was too narrow for me to get on my foot while wearing thin socks. I am elderly & disabled. In all my many years, I have never seen nicer leather! Thank you, Zappos, for making it possible for me to see this shoe.

The Paretao is an attractive looking shoe and I enjoy wearing it. I have a very narrow foot - 7AAA with a 5A heel so even though it says it runs on the narrow side, for my foot it could be a little snugger in the toe area. However, I have no trouble with it staying on and am glad I bought them.

I love these shoes! They were so comfortable right out of the box. I wanted a slip on, casual shoe, with comfort and style, and these fit the bill. Naots are my favorite brand for comfort and arch support. I know the size 39 will always fit me. The best shoes for walking that I own.

I love Naot shoes and was hoping this shoe would be narrow enough for my foot, but wasn't. I loved the feel and the shoe but was just to wide for me to feel comfortable. Anyone with a med width foot would work great. Quality was great same as always with Naot. Have worn Naot for about 20 years.

These are kind of funky-looking, but I like them. I ordered 3 different pairs because the crinkles vary pretty widely, and on the 3rd try I got a pair that was a little more the same on each side. My feet are slightly wide, so sometimes I need to order wides. These shoes are perfect if you have slightly wide feet.

These shoes are so cute and so comfortable. I ordered in both a 38 and 39 since all of my Naot's are one or the other size. Unfortunately the toe box was just too roomy for my narrow, skinny foot. Very surprising because Naots generally fit me well. I reluctantly had to return both pairs.

Naot is, consistently, one of the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn. This beauty is no exception. Love the metallic steel finish. Great comfort and ease of slide without the hassle of loose or slip fit. Beautiful shoe!

I just received these shoes and don't want to take them off. They are SOOOO soft and comfortable. I have to order NAOT's with removable insoles because I have to have mine made. Yes, they are expensive but they are so worth it. I'm going to have to order the black color also. Very cute shoe!

I have been looking for a quality, comfortable shoe to slip into for walking around my house. I can't stand to bring in outside dirt! I currently use an older pair of the Naot Rahinas to wear in the house, but they have a strap, and I am done with fastening and unfastening the velcro straps. I had high hopes for these, but my right foot slips out of the shoe when I walk. Also, there is too much gap at the top between my foot and the shoe. They are comfortable, but not especially cute; not an issue for me, however, because they were going to be worn only in the house. The toe area fit fine on my medium feet. But I have a narrow heel and skinny around the ankle bone, so that accounts for why this pair does not work for me.

I read reviews that said these ran short so I ordered a size up (7) . They were too big! So apparently they run true to size,I am a 6 and had to return sadly. The leather is soft and I liked the shoe,but it’s not available in a 6 right now.
