These boots are a beautiful dark taupe suede and fashionable! The Zappos pictures don’t do the color justice. Sadly, they are not a typical Clark comfy shoe. The insole is thin, with no padding and no arch support. They feel hard against the bottom of my feet. The insole is not removable, so I can’t sub a better one, and the toe box is not big enough for me to add another insole. They were OK for work where I sit most of the day, but I won’t wear them if I have to stand or walk much. The heel feels/looks higher than 1.25 inches, and they are slightly higher if you measure the back of the heel. I wear a 10 in most of Clark’s shoes except Leisa sandals where I wear a 9.5. The 10 was a good fit in these boots. They may run a bit narrow. I have a narrow heel and wider fore foot due to a bunion. They didn’t bother my bunion, and with socks, did not slip on my heels.

Really cute boot. Taupe color is a dark mushroom--very nice, super versatile. Unfortunately the upper part of the boot seemed a little stiff on me and pressed up against my shins when I walked making them quite uncomfortable. I am VERY disappointed to have to return them because I love the way they look.
