I really wanted to love these shoes, and do to a certain level. They look amazing! and feel really nice. I love the shape and feel of the sole and how it feels on the ground- thick but not too thick, nice grip, not loud. The do feel a tad narrow initially in the forefoot (if I could have walked 5 miles in them outside I could give you a better review), and the heel is just too wide for me. Perhaps more wear than a long stroll in my hallway would have revealed them to be just right- but if I return stuff I want it to be unused, and my heel slipped around too much. I did try multiple sizes too, so it wasn’t because they were too big. Just too wide in the heel. When I first put them on I thought, I’m sold! But after walking around my house in them I wasn’t so sure. I compared them to some Salomons, and in the end the Salomon felt better on my foot (despite the loud popping sound they make). Danners are now on my radar for amazing shoes, so I really hope to someday find a style that works for me. They also weren’t noisy. You could catch an occasional popping sound, but I think that’s the nature of gortex. Every GTX shoe I’ve tried makes that plastic popping sound- but the Danners were quiet and didn’t always pop.

I have wide feet so I ordered half a size bigger but I feel like it was still snug on the bridge of my foot. I went with the Teva boots instead coz they were roomier all around.

I wear size 12 or 12.5 depending on the shoe brand. I ordered myself a size over 13 because I read the reviews. This pair fit me perfectly, very comfortable insole, very light, in my opinion, this is the best shoe that I wear with pleasure every day. I want to see how they will look in a year. I hope they will not disappoint me.

I really like these hiking boots! I ordered a bunch of hiking shoes and boots from Zappos (mostly Danner brand) to try to find the best ones for me, and these were the clear winners. Some of the others were a bit snug in my usual size (8.5), but these were perfect. I've worn them hiking several times now and like them more and more each time I wear them. I have the "marionberry" color and really like it.

Normally wear a 10 but these were a bit too long. They were pretty difficult to get on/off due to the style of the ankle & heel. Returned and ordered a pair of Keens instead.

The tongue of the boot is stitched up so hight it was impossible to get my foot in. The back of the boot was soft and squishy making it even harder. So disappointed. I have a pair of Mountain 600 from Danner and they are great. Lots of room to get your foot in without struggle and personalized lace up for a perfect fit. And I appreciate that their sizing is always right on. I am a true 6.5 and can count on Danner and Merrell's to always fit length-wise perfectly..

Ordered the 8.5 which is the size I normally wear in a running/hiking shoe but had to return for a 9 - I should have listened to the other reviewers who suggested going up a 1/2 size! The 9 is perfect. Excellent support, surprisingly soft landing on the heels. Bonus, they look good. For reference - I wear a 7.5 or 8 in dress shoes, an 8.5 in running and the 9 in this boot fits perfectly with a nice (thicker) hiking sock.

I adore these shoes/boots -- they are exceptionally comfortable and supportive. I do wear them with a custom orthotic (a thin one). I wear 7-7.5 narrow generally - but the regular width works for me since the boot ties above my ankle - and I have bunions so a little extra width in the forefoot is welcome and fits me perfectly.

I normally wear a size 81/2 in danners but this shoe runs 1/2 size smaller The size 9 fits good

Excellently made shoe, but I need a wide toe box. I do highly recommend them.

Danners may be my favorite boot.

Should have followed the reviews that said to order a 1/2 size larger! By way of reference - I wear a 7.5 or an 8 in like a work shoe/loafer whatever, an 8 1/2 in a running shoe and needed a 9 in these. They are super comfortable, once I got that size right!

I’m really in love with these shoes! I tried on a bunch of shoes and these are so comfortable AND cute! Yes, I have to agree with other reviewers that they are a bit tough to get your feet into, but it’s a minor struggle worth the tug! It’s like walking barefoot but better! I’m impossible to find shoes for! I wear Birkenstocks every day, but I could live in these!

I have never tried Danner shoes before, but decided to test them based on a recommendation from my brother. We are planning a one-hundred mile hike this summer, and I wanted to get some shoes going well beforehand. All four pairs of Danner shoes/boots fit great and were comfortable right out of the box. This style and one other were keepers.

These are some of the greatest gortex hiking shoes I’ve ever bought. No break in period needed. Just put them on and go. Very lightweight but still great support around the ankle. Weatherproof, yet very breathable and they keep my feet warm and dry.
