I seem to have the most success with Merrell shoes and boots. These boots are very comfortable and somewhat stylish. I was looking for one boot I could wear at work and around town on my personal time. These are as close as I could get and have warm and comfortable feet. I wish they were just a bit less 'snowboot-ish" but mostly I love them. For me, they are slightly roomy in the heel but I haven't experience the slippage other reviewers mentioned. I removed the footbed and put in my own orthotic, so maybe that is why they don't slip on my heels. It was 23 degrees out yesterday morning and as I walked from the bus stop to work, my feet were toasty! Thank you, Zappos and Merrell!

Extremely comfortable, no breaking in required. Excellent grip in icy conditions and very warm in extreme weather conditions. Absolutely love these boots.

This is my first time buying Merrell.
The boot has a good look, sturdy sole, heavy suede leather upper, a decent support inside, wide toe area, and warm.
Customer service was great working with me to find the correct size, as they seem to be 1/2-1 size bigger than other boots.
I added a sheep's wool liner for extra warmth.
I would purchase these again.
I would like to see them offered in gray, regular leather, and a little more snug fit at the ankle and calf.

Although my initial order was for my regular size of 8.5, the boots were a little too large. Returning them was a breeze and the replacement size 8.0 boots are perfect. They are very comfortable, easy to put on/off, and the excellent tread is a requisite feature here in Maine. I hope Merrell continues to offer them.

Merrell doesn't disappoint with this boot. Basic design and function. Good traction. Feet are comfortable, warm and dry. No break-in time required!

This boot has tread for snow packed trails, but looks good enough to wear to church. I love the easy on, easy off that I enjoy on my other Merrill shoes. I haven't noticed any problems at all.

These boots have great features: water proof, slip proof, warm lining, easy to put on, accomodates my orthotics. When I received them I wore them for next 3 days. No breaking in needed!

Wow these boots impressed me, and I have a large collection of expensive boots! They are SO comfortable and unlike many other brands have a nice arch support. They look great and feel even better. I'm not sure why people would complain about wearing them with jeans. These aren't the type of boot you'd wear with a boot cut jean anyway. Well made, and feel warm and insanely comfortable.

I am an older woman who does a lot of walking, often with my golden retriever and frequently after dark. Non-slip is very important to me as I'm fearful of falling on the ice. These have a good firm grip and are comfortable with plenty of room for my toes to wiggle which helps with my grip and also to keep my feet warmer. Glad I got them.

I wanted to keep these shoes. They are really cute, have great arch support, plenty of room in the toe, I like the height of the shaft. The reason I have to return them is they were too big in the heel for me and my socks kept slipping down. I have skinny heels so if you have average sized heels these will probably work for you.

I have both a high arch and plantar fasciitis. Both very uncomfortable with the wrong boot! I replaced your insole with an orthotic insole called Powerstep Pro, to help correct for the high arch - bingo! It is the most comfortable boot I've had in years. Good job!

I love these boots! I needed something for snow and ice and these are perfect. Your feet don't get too hot, they are quite light and easy to slip on and walk in. I am most pleased with the traction on them to keep me sure-footed and safe from falling. Great product and well made! Yet very fashionable to wear everywhere.

I bought these to wear when walking the dog, running errands and fetching firewood. They feel like I am wearing slippers, they are very, very comfortable. The tread is not as aggressive as I would like (hence the 4 stars), but the comfort is a 5. I ordered my regular size 9 and they fit perfectly with room for a heavier sock.

The boots look better online than in person (they look a little cheap), but I still like them enough to keep them. They are very light weight and that comes with some warmth setbacks. I have only worn them in 0 to -10 degree weather and they are not very warm without a thick sock - still good for a day to day city boot though. Many people in reviews said they were a large fit, but I found them to be true to size. I'm pregnant, so I needed a boot that was easy to get on and off - the side zip does the trick. All in all, not what I expected out of a Merrell product, but not bad.

They're nice boots, but I bought a half size too big, so I had to return them. These fit quite large! There were no more 8's to exchange with. All sold out :(

Really great boots - kept my feet comfortable, warm and dry. (Temperature for my first hike in them was above freezing.) The only thing I would change about them is I wish the zipper was a little longer, so that they could be opened wider, as it is a struggle getting my heel in. Once in, they are great though!

I bought these boots for traction and being waterproof and so far they are very good. I have narrow feet and they tend to be very wide, but after replacing the original innersoles with lambswool inserts and thick socks they are quite comfortable and warm. I am in New York City and our first snowstorm of the season has, as expected, turned quickly to slush and ice, so the boots are getting a true test!

Nice looking boot, great sole for snow and ice -- but they're way too short. Walking through 6" of snow would fill them up at the top. Not practical for shoveling much snow or trips to the wood shed. Wide enough to fit my bunion, ample support -- sad to say they have to go back.
