This is a great shoe that feels bouncy and responsive. I like the sock-like fit of the collar around the top of my foot with one exception. The pull-tab at the back of the collar rubs against my Achilles heel creating a little raw spot. I remedied this by putting an adhesive band-aid over that area.

Recently retired my MaxRoad 3 at 550 miles, a workhorse shoe for long runs, tempos, and recovery runs. In the 4's I had to size up 1/2 size and they are still a bit narrow. Also the Hyperburst foam needs a good break in run which my Hyper Speed 3 also did. The 4's feel great on my feet but they are really an uptempo shoe with less versatility than the 3's.The Hyperburst foam responds to being pushed and is too firm for plodding recovery runs. Hopefully they get as many miles as the 3's!

This shoes is super light shoe for a maximal cushioned road shoe but is unstable when cornering at faster speeds.

I ran a 35KM easy run run today without the sockliner and now have 55 miles in the shoe.
An entirely different shoe without the sockliner. Quite a bit firmer, though still with loads of cushion. More responsive, more comfortable. Tons of protection.
And, most importantly, the shoe fits me so very much better. No hot spots. No pressure from the upper. No new blisters. My feet feel great afterward. Absolutely a shoe I'll use for a flat 50 miler on road or non-technical trail, and will consider for a 100 miler (though I may have to size up a half size.) I have zero interest in wearing this shoe for a marathon with much better choices out there, nor was I hoping for a marathon shoe.
Still not perfect, but really, REALLY close and a half size up may do the trick. Although I think a mesh upper would still be better.
Bottom line: throw the stupid sockliner out!

It looks great . Seems well made. It is very snug , almost tight with the bootie design . It's a heavy shoe with all the cushioning. Doesn't seem like a good running shoe . Does ok for walking , but I would have expected more for its high price.

Bought the shoes for my long distance days, 10-20 mile runs. I haven't gotten blisters for yrs but did on both feet with these on the first long run i did in them. They did fine on shorter runs prior to that while I was breaking the shoes in. Disappointing especially since this is the most money I have ever spent on a pair of running shoes. The blister was on the same place on both feet, the medial aspect of the ball of my foot. The socks were ones that I have used before without problems. Shoes felt good on the shorter runs but definitely have a different feel to get used to

Tried these on and immediately knew there was no way I was even going to try to break them in. Even in thin compression socks, my toes were rubbing against the top and sides of the toe box. Plenty of room in the front, just not the sides or the top. These are blisters waiting to happen.

Initially not nearly as soft cushioning as Max Road 3 but seem to be getting softer with each use. More durable sole and adaptable upper. Sketchers is a legitimate running shoe maker!

I've trained in all the previous models and loved them. I raved about them to everyone. This new Hyper midsole is the best cushioning material I've encountered in 25 yrs of competitive running. The biggest downfall of this shoe is the terrible fitting upper. I have a slightly narrow foot and had zero issues with previous models. I've to really stretch the imagination on ways to lace this shoe to keep my heels from sliding out. Trust me I love this midsole so much I'll keep this pair, but if they keep this upper configuration then I will have to find another hyper midsole Skechers shoe. Bring back the R2 upper!

Wore the shoes out of the box for a race. Fit was too tight, and made my feet go numb. Switched back to my old pair for the last half of the race.

Purchased MaxRoad 4 & excited to use hyperburst. Really disappointed with the lockdown around the heel & forefoot. The lacing system is insufficient. The top insoles are unstable (Sliding up the heel), making gradients & speed work impossible. Similar to running on black ice! Midsole is great, yet despite already providing feedback regarding lack stability due, in part, to ill fitting insoles, I'm reluctant to take them out beyond a gentle 5k & that's with another manufacturer's insole in place. Already had to order another brand as replacement shoe.

I couldn't get past the fact that the shoe has no tongue. That makes it impossible to get the "just right" fit you need for a long run. I ended up cutting the fabric to create a tongue, which is not optimal. Seems like the toe box got a little narrower, too, which was not good either. I wore the max Road 3's before these and loved them.

These are the replacements to the previous GOrun Max Road series and honestly its a completely new shoe. While the hyper burst is soft the knit material is so tight yet isn't tight like laces. It's almost a sock like knit compression that is very different. Also the shoe doesn't breath well and I found even on cool days my feet were super sweaty. I've been a loyal sketchers running shoe advocate but it's time to go to Hokas since Sketchers can't replicate a decent shoe annually.

I've had 7 prior pairs of the MaxRoad running shoes, and love the cushioning on them. Unfortunately, the new design that removes the tongue causes heel blisters on me. The heel notch is a soft fabric type material that unfortunately has a tendency to fold in on itself, which causes the blisters. I had to stop my runs early due to the blisters. I thought that it just might need some breaking in, but after 2 weeks with continuing blisters, these shoes are unusable by me for running or even much else.

I am a huge fan of what Skecher's is doing in the running world, the ride 7 was my favorite shoe of 2019. I was very excited about this shoe but if I'm being honest it has disappointed me. They are very warm, no breathability. They are giving me problems on the outside of my forefoot, it is too narrow there and it makes that area somewhat numb. There is certainly a lot of cushion but it ends up being too much. I couldn't even find joy in them during my slow recovery runs, it feels like you're running in mud. Please get rid of the one piece upper and bring back a tongue. I think if you would have taken the new Max Cushion Premier and gave it Hyperburst and made that the new max road hyper, you would have a winner! I'm not sure if you would run into the same problem though with too much cushion in them given the amount of stack height the Premier's have, but if so you could even follow suit with Nike and make the upper 50% of the midsole Hyperburst with the lower half being maybe Flight Gen or UltraGo (I have yet to try the UltraGo).
Again, I am a huge fan of Skecher's running, the Ride 7 is one of the best shoes ever made (in my opinion) and I am SUPER excited for the Ride 8 hyper but the max road hyper just didn't do it for me.
Keep up the great work!!

I ran about 700 miles in a pair of Skechers MaxRoad 3 and loved every step. I loved the roomy upper, the soft, responsive cushioning, and the wide, stable platform. I was very much hoping the MaxRoad 4 would have the same characteristics. Unfortunately, that is not the case. The MaxRoad 4 is a much narrower shoe. I tried every lacing technique I know but nothing gave me a fit that wasn't very tight in the toes and midfoot. The cushioning is also much firmer than the MaxRoad 3. Those two things were deal killers for me, so I had to return them. It's disappointing that there is not a viable replacement for the MaxRoad 3 anywhere on the market.

The upper on this shoe is terrible. There is no way to lockdown the fit. This shoe should have a different name as it is nothing like previous models. It rubbed my feet raw in several areas due to being too loose and sliding around. The heel lifts badly. After my run I ordered a size down to see if it might fit properly. However, I don't know if I should bother trying it after finding out the Skechers return policy. It's the worst I have seen. They claim it needs to be returned in unused condition. So you can't try the shoe? How do you know if it works?

This is the 2nd pair I have owned. I sent the first back after two weeks as I thought there was a manufacturing fault which was giving me blisters on my instep during every run. The customer service was fantastic and they sent me a replacement pair within a few days. Sad to say that these give blisters in exactly the same place. I've been running in Skechers for the last 5 years but I am going to have to change brands now before my feet get ruined.

Such a poor shoe, and the expensive price wow :(
I really do love skechers, but this is not good. Blisters on every run, the tread pattern causes hot spots... ouch!! :(
Plus there not breathable at all, feet get really hot..
the hyper burst foam is ok, but there's now better performing foams on the market elsewhere..
Come on Skechers get your act together, I loved the gorun 3's from years ago, still where them now, but nothing since as ever come close. I'm willing to wait a little longer for you guys to bring something decent out, but won't wait forever....
One last thing, can you start supplying us in the UK much quicker, we wait ages for the new ranges to get to us.
