6'1", around 200lbs. I lift weights a 3 times a week and have been on some sort of weight lifting program for the last 7 years. Just trying to give an idea for the sizing. I bought a medium and a large because of the reviews. I prefer tighter clothes and since this is a thick jacket, figured I'd try a medium. The medium fits my body perfectly. The sleeves might be just slightly too short if I am reaching for something, but overall it is a good fit. I didn't even try the large on because this felt right. I have tried medium jackets before and my shoulders and back were to big to do a hug movement. I did not have that problem with this one. The faux fur hood insert is a little floppy but overall I love it. Love it without the faux fur even more. Great looking jacket. I personally don't like big brands all over my clothes, but the North Face logo is black on the black part of the jacket. That looked better to me.

Great Jacket. I'm 5'10 185lbs athletic build. I got the larger but was a little loose at the waist and felt really bulky. Since I don't plan on wearing layers under this jacket I returned it and opted for a medium. Overall I'm very happy with it.

Great Jacket but fit's kinda larger to what their true size suggests. I bought a Large but then had to trade it in for Medium which is much more my size.

Hands down the best jacket I've bought. I've researched and compared down filled options for about 6 months and kept coming back to this. I almost went with a much more expensive "brand" but couldn't doubt TNF value. Not bulky at all in fact it sits closer to the body than some of the other down NF options. Nobody is giving enough credit to the built in face mask. It's just fit enough to stay put but not tight enough to be uncomfortable. Pull it all the way down and protect your neck without having to fully zip up. Guys with cool hair prob not gonna use it as often as us shaved guys. This is an absolute no brained purchase at the current sale price. I stuck with my normal size even though others say to size down. I tend to run hot and just didn't want a snug fit with a down fill. Fits perfectly for me. 5'9" 190 lbs. with the large size. The hood has pull strings so it doesn't open as large as one of the other reviews said. Fully zipped up and fur pulled forward with the hood tightened and you get that similar tunnel protection from wind that the higher cost brands like to highlight. I'd buy 3 of these before buy 1 of those from the $900+ companies hands down.

This is a really nice coat. Makes me super warm in Chicago's cold weather and wind. when I go out, I could only wearing a hoodie inside when I have this coat on and still stay warm. I'm 5'7'' so even the XS is a lil long for me on length, but it's still a very nice warm coat. I like it.

Now that retirement is here, the gift of The North Face Gotham Jacket III was a most welcome surprise. Its versatility will open the door to new adventures. I prefer rib-knit cuffs and rib-knit hem, but there are few jackets that have them. This jacket can also be worn at formal events such as church, et cetera. This is my first North Face jacket, and it won't be my last one.

Very warm, really 100% wind proof. Haven't experienced it in the rain and tbh for the price I don't want to wear it in the rain lol.

I'm Asian, 5'8", 145lbs, athletic/lean build. In store, TNF only carries small, but online they carry extra small. The small in store was slightly long on the arms and was longer than I'd like past my waist for this sort of bomber-style jacket. TNF online recommended I get a small based on other purchasers (70% of people like me got small and 30% got medium), but honestly the extra small is a much better fit. I'd only go for the small if I was planning on wearing a ton more layers underneath this jacket, but this jacket is so warm that it would be silly to wear so many extra layers underneath for city/casual wear.
Jacket is great for casual outings. I live in the Pacific Northwest and it's great for cold/rainy days walking the dogs out. Too heavy/bulky for outdoor winter recreational use in my opinion, but to each their own.
The internal chest pocket is big enough for my pixel 3 xl. The only slight con I can think of is that the hand pockets aren't very deep/large. They're too small to fit gloved hands in comfortably. I'd recommend this jacket 10/10.

I'm 5'10 medium fits perfect, not too tight or loose. Had a large at first thought I would wear base layers for the cold Canadian winter but it gets hot if you're active. Great for -20 with a t-shirt. All around one of the best winter jacket out there

This coat is super duty tough. Like living in any place in the world that sees super cold times- I would highly recommend this Gotham III. Super comfy, completely blocks out any cold and wind to the point where you don't feel it whatsoever. Also- I ordered a medium in size and I'm 5'9" almost 160lbs and I say it fits just right.

Great for windy and wet weather, it holds really good against freezing wind and below freezing temperatures, is not bulky making super easy to move around, it lacks inside pockets but overall a really good winter coat.
