Im a plus size lady who always buys mens coats because i like lots of pockets and i find mens coats much more comfortable and has many more features that women's. Mcmurdolll delivers length, lots of pockets, and a great hood and great warmth.Highly recommend.

I used this jacket in Korean winter where with the wind on same days it can get down to -16C and lower, most days temperatures are between 0 and -10C ,never let me down. In those types of temperatures I'm not interested in how my jacket looks, the bulkier the warmer it is when worn with under layers.Being caught out in the cold with expensive inferior clothing ( alpha jacket) is no laughing matter. The in built face mask is very handy.

Exactly as described. Thank you North Face. Getting old and out of shape. Had to call North Face and talk about sizing. Usually what I buy is to big or to small and tight. Often can't zip them up cause of my belly. The gal told me a XL would be perfect and she was 100% right on. I can zip the McMurdo Parka all the way up t the top. Room around the chest and hips. I tried it on but had to get it right back off cause it was so overly warm. Will be perfect for our western NYS winters. Size wise, I'm 5'7" and weigh 215 and at 73 years and retired, you know my chest dropped down to the mid section. Well, that XL fit perfect!!! I have that hour glass figure, 50-46-49! That McMurdo Parka III will keep me toasty warm. Thank you North Face!!!

This parka delivers exactly what I hoped it would: It's heavy, but not cumbersome; it's waterproof, but still breathable; it keeps me warm and dry, but stylish. I purchased this parka to be my coldest weather coat, which is to say, I have another warm coat I wear when it's between 32-42 degrees, and I wanted this one to handle anything below freezing. And it does! It's not uncommon for Chicago to have 15-25 degree days with the wind blowing, and when those days come, this parka handles it with ease.
As has been well-documented in other reviews, the zipper could be a bit bulkier. But I didn't find it dainty or cheap feeling. It's one step above the zipper you will find on TNF's down jackets. It's a bit of a struggle to get the zipper on with gloves on, but that hasn't bothered me. In future iterations of this parka TNF would be wise to bulk up the zipper to reflect the intended use of this parka.
Still 10/10 recommend.

We've bought many of these jackets types from different brands but these ones were by far the ones we prefer. They are good quality and really does the job. The pockets are also big enough for gloves and everything else you need to carry with you. Highly recommended!

This jacket is one of the warmest jackets I've owned. Unfortunately it was stolen only after one use but it's so good I went ahead and bought another.

I was looking for a high quality jacket at an affordable price, and you typically get what you pay for- not in this case however. Took a chance with an online purchase and NorthFace delivered a high quality product. Great fit and style to this warm jacket.

excellent for cold days,, need a hat under hood for windy days, otherwise air leaks through hood. face mask is great for wind! Hood needs to be designed better.

The day after it arrived I tried it out in 20 degree weather and I was toasty. The zipper is a little odd but not as bad as some say and it is not as loose fitting as some say. I am 5'10" at 190 lbs and a large is snug but not too tight. My measurements are on the upper end of large and I usually go XL but most of the comments indicted it was loose.

I have been a McMurdo fan since the jacket debuted in 2000. A waterproof and windproof down jacket with extra length and a full hood? Perfection for those days with little activity but extreme cold. Countless Boy Scout events in the winter have been made comfortable with this coat. I love the double zipper for the main zip. A great upgrade from the single zipper for getting into and out of vehicles. I miss the Velcro closures, but the snaps have a good positive feel to them. Overall I am extremely happy with my upgraded McMurdo jacket.
