This is the first pair of Merrell's that I have not met my expectations. Perhaps I did not pay close enough attention to the photograph in the printed catalogue from which I placed my order; however, I did not like to appearance of the shoes when I saw them in person. The size was right and they were comfortable, so I wore them hoping that I might change my mind, but in the end decided to give them away.

Bought a pair of these in late November. They felt indeed comfy at first. I bought them as the walking shoes for a trip to Nepal. After 3 weeks in Dusty Kathmandu they looked like 5 year old snickers. Didn't do any hiking on them, just city (dusty city) walk. I trully thought I was getting a better deal with a Merrel product. They will porbably turn into garden or dirty job sneakers once spring is here. Havent use them again. After 3 weeks of everyday walking they were not as comfortable anymore. They use to be blue too.

Great looking and well made as I would expect from Merrell but very uncomfortable. I have several pairs of Merrels from hiking to casual shoes and I really like the way they fit and feel. This pair is the exception! The look and feel retro, the foot bed is as hard as most dress shoes.

I purchased a pair of Alpine Sneaker Sports several months ago. Sadly, I've only worn them a few times, as they are extremely uncomfortable! The ridges on the outsole can be felt with every step taken. Terrible design, in my opinion. I'll relegate these shoes to lawn mowing duty, but they may not be comfortable for that, either. I'll probably have to donate them --or toss them in the trash.

Quality is poor. No Achilles heel support. Bad design. Will never buy again. This shoe is garbage. Now I know why it was on sale.

If it's a men's shoe why is it trimmed in pink? Is it that hard to understand the implications. I would have purchased it but for this inane decoration! Who designs these things? What is the point?

I returned these shoes after trying them on and walking on our wood floors. The tread design of the sole made walking on our wood floors so loud and squeaky that my wife immediately said you will either return these shoes or never wear them in the house

I bought this style new i try it at home its not good i was really disappointed At All its not comfortable

Nylon frayed at seams within a couple weeks- too bad such sharp looking kicks didn't last longer.

I returned these as I needed more cushioning. Too bad. Liked the look.

Uncomfortable shoes, no cushioning, nothing like any merrell shoes ive purchased. Upon closer inspection one shoe looks brushed and worn like put in a washing machine... Very dissatisfied

The color is different from picture and shoes are narrow.

I wanted to believe the good reviews, but these started to separate within 2 weeks. Very poor quality overall and not comfortable.

Very low quality fabric and crooked edges didn't look like an original shoe

When I first got the Alpine's, I really liked them. Light and very comfortable. After about a week, I noticed a small "separation" in the fabric panel above the toe. I assumed it was just a defect in the fabric and didn't think much of it. Three weeks later, both shoes started to tear apart around the holes in the reinforced panel that the laces go through. although they were worn on a few short mild hikes, I usually just wear these around the house and office. I don't pull the laces extra tight, normally just tight enough so that they aren't loose. While they lasted ,I really liked the shoes, I was very disappointed when they fell apart after just 5 weeks. I have been buying various styles of Merrell shoes for many years, I have always been happy with the comfort and happier with the durability. I still have 2 pair that are 4+ years old that don't look fresh but still hold up great for use while doing yard work.

I so wanted to lover these sneakers but they frayed after wearing twice.

I got these in November of 2021 and they are not very tough. I would expect at least 6 months before they fell apart.

Retro look with a crappy Retro fit! walking with these feels like standing on a pair of old school 204 cm slalom skis! Super narrow foot bed with no cushion. Shoes reminded me of old Nike Cortez, but I thought that Merrell would up date an old style with new technology!! BUT NO!

Felt like I was walking on wooden dowels. Have had many Merrells in the past but these were simply totally uncomfortable and unacceptable.

They run narrow and aren't as sturdy as the other Merrell's. It sounds like I'm pulling the laces through cardboard.
