I guess my foot is a wide. This shoe not offered in a wide. I would guess the fit is as described, but in my particular case this shoe felt too narrow. I've not had this issue with other Merrell shoes.

I really liked the style of these shoes, and really gave them a shot but they were extremely uncomfortable. The arch support was very aggressive, so much so I can't wear the shoe. I even bought insoles to replace the factory ones to see if that helped and it still did not solve the problem. I'm not sure if the shoe was designed this way or the shoe is too narrow but I can't wear these shoes. I've never had an issue with too much arch support on any other shoe I've bought. I wore them to work several times to give them a shot and now I feel like I can't return them. I am very disappointed with these especially for the price that I paid.

The style of this shoe is great, but this shoe is the most uncomfortable shoe that I have ever worn. The shoes seem to be made too narrow. I do not have a wide foot and have had no problem with ordering a shoe that is not a wide. I believe the narrowness of the shoe causes the arch support to be very aggressive. The arch was so high that my feet hurt at the end of the day after wearing these shoes and I work in an office at a seated desk. I replaced the factory insole with a less aggressive arch and still these shoes were unbearable to wear. I wore them several times expecting them to break in or loosen up but that never happened. I am now stuck with these shoes as I feel like I can't return them. I would not recommend this shoe to anyone.
