These shoes are exactly as described. They truly fit like a glove, and I love the sockless technology that prevents extra folds of shoe fabric from moving out of place. I always wear an 8, and 8 was perfect. I have a fairly wide food with a narrow heel and usually worry that running shoes will be too narrow, but these are forgiving enough to work for me. I bought them to run on icy/snowy mountain terrain, and I love how the shoes fit snugly up to the ankle so snow can't get in. Perfection.

I love the look and feel of this shoe once I could get my foot into it! There is no tongue, and the opening is tight, so I had to go up a size, maybe because I have a high arch. But it seems to fit fine now. You must grasp the loop at back to pull the shoe on. Loosening the laces doesn’t help. Waterproof, attractive.

I've used these for the past several months in the snow and mud outside--mostly packed--and love the GTX upper and the grippy tread. They are a little lighter and more sleek for days when you want to work on speed. But I also use them in the gym for workouts because they aren't as bulky as some trail models.

Love these shoes, however found for less on another site after I'd already purchased here. Super sturdy, grippy soles, fit like a glove!

First off, I want to say that I have never, ever found a trail runner that my foot doesn't slide around in, until now. This is extremely important (to me), because 1. My feet sliding around was distracting to me mentally. 2. It physically caused pain. No longer was that a problem when I slipped on the La Sportiva Kaptiva GTX's. In the past, I have been very clumsy on the trails and I'd like to say that part of that was due to my footwear (yes, I will claim some of the clumsiness as inherent, though). No falls during my uses so far. These make me feel SO confident when I am running a steep downhill. A glove on my foot. No slipping, sliding, blisters, or pain. Right out of the box. I am so thankful for the fit of this shoe. Second, I believe this is truly a great all-around trail runner option. My first use was on a rocky/muddy/wet trail, and I had no issues with slipping or sliding. I slid a bit on a large boulder that I was scaling, but I feel that is to be expected on a very wet day when you aren't wear a shoe designed for scrambling. My second use of this shoe was during a downpour on a very muddy trail. My feet were bone dry after playing outside for an hour and a half, even with purposely splashing through deep puddles. The GTX part of this shoe does exactly what it is advertised to do. Finally, let's talk aesthetics. This is a really nice looking shoe. The smooth, outer design seems to wick away a lot of grime (compared to some trail runners I have worn that have a lot of excess material that holds onto everything). Not a huge make or break point in a shoe probably, but I appreciate being able to easily get the bulk of the grime off my shoes at the end of the day. I plan on wearing these shoes until it gets too hot in the summer to wear them. I think they will also serve me well for running trails in the snow (with gaiters) this winter. If you are looking for a versatile purchase, this shoe is the one!

I run a lot of miles on muddy/soggy trails, and having and this shoe is perfect for that. I love the fit-like-a-glove style of this shoe -- it's precise and comfortable, and the snug fit keeps the mud and crud out. The traction is great on rock/mud but the lugs also work well on dry trail. If you like the original Kaptivas and run in mud or snow but value warm and dry feet, this is the shoe for you.

Glove fit after going a 1/2 size up. Light and well constructed for flexibility with a great tread for staying on track. Love this shoe.

Perfect shoe for when the weather turns or you when have muddy trails to navigate. This shoe is light, comfortable, yet aggressive on the trail and keeps out all that nasty muck!

I ran in the non goretex Kaptiva exclusively this summer in the Adirondacks, Rockies and Alps and was psyched to see the GTX version released for our shoulder seasons where it is cold, wet, muddy and/or snowy. The grip is excellent on rock and roots, the additional goretex keeps my feet warm without adding additional stiffness to the shoe. The fit and feel is similar to the original Kaptiva with a one piece sock like upper that hugs the foot through the midfoot. I wear a 41 in most La Sportiva's and went with that size for this version as well.

This shoe fits like a glove. It is the best of both worlds with the perfect amount of cushion while still having awesome trail feel and lugs to keep you rolling through any terrain or distance. I love this shoe!

I wear 7 1/2 to 8 (38) but these shoes fit me like a 7 and the toe box was too small.

i have worn & loved 2 generations of wildcat GTX, & thought I'd try another style. unfortunately, the sewn-in tongue creates an extremely tight step-in for my high arch/thick foot, bunching up even the thinnest socks. once my foot is in & my socks smooth (which takes extra time/attention !!), it does fit like a glove & feels good, & as always I love that lightweight trail tread. you might want to highlight the tight step-in for those w high arch

Horrible shoe. So uncomfortable b/c of how narrow and small these shoes felt for my normal size. The traction was good but nothing else. I would not recommend.
