Saucony has managed to take good racing flat and turn it into probably the best Type A ever! Great fit with the new lacing eyelets etc. Fast, smooth and lively. Now offer a few more colors and you've hit a grand slam!

Nice light shoe for speed workouts or road races. If you're not ready for a modern, high stack, carbon plated super shoe, this is an alternate racer. You will feel the road in these. Not a plush ride.

good shoes, very light, comfy for forefoot running. I just wish the toe box was a bit wider as it seems like it is pinching on longer runs.

I wear the A9 as my primary training and road racing shoe for everything from 5k to marathon, 500 miles so far and they are still in great shape. I prefer minimalist shoes, but these have enough cushion to go full speed on the downhills. Great style in the Citron/Orange fade. Only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because the Type A4 was far superior. I bought four pairs of A4 back in 2010 and when they all wore out, I had to buy the new A9. The A9 materials feel kind of plastic, and the tongue and sides come up a little too high. The A4 had a nice low profile and more comfortable materials. I hope the next update (A10?) will look back to some of the A4 design, except that it had holes in the sole that would collect rocks (not good).

Tried on a lot of shoes in the past. By far the more free running shoes I've tried.
Just recently started running and was looking for a shoe that would fit my style. Love the colour scheme. Al though it's only been 3 months and the back of the shoe is tearing up a little bit.

I have one 5.5 miler in these shoes so far, with 9 miler coming up this weekend.
The toebox is tight, so be prepared for that. It was tight enough that I actually went and bought slim socks which (for the most part) remedied the problem.
Overall fit and finish is great. Excited to try these out for my upcoming 10k to see how they do.

The shoe seemed slightly tight in the toe box but once I started running I never noticed it. There is just enough padding to keep from feeling every rock but not too much where I can't feel the road. The shoe seems to be sturdy, but I've also never had a problem with Saucony falling apart. So far it's been a great 5K racer

The shoe is lightweight and stylish but uncomfortable. I
should have ordered it in a size 13 instead of my regular 12.5; it seemed fine in the beginning but after wearing them for about 10 min, the pain started in my left toes and arch.

I bought the shoe strictly for doing speed work on the track. The shoes are very light, and the good breathable upper. Fit is fine and it's a really good pair of racing flats. Perfect for my needs. However, I don't know if they're designed to run in with socks, but I got blisters on both of my achilles after just 7 100-meter sprints. I don't usually wear socks with other racing flats and I'm usually fine. Perhaps other materials on the back inside, or a little padding? Maybe have that part of the shoe engineered for those who run with socks? I also would like more subtle colors in the future for us who don't necessarily want attention.

I bought these for speed workouts and quick runs. I also loved the color scheme...it felt like it would be a comfortable shoe but the toe box was too narrow and shoe was not appropriately sized. I was afraid to order the same shoe a half size bigger due to the time it would took to return shoe and get another size.

The shoe is light weight, which is great. However, I got blisters on both achilles after a 5 mile run. Given the construction of the shoe, there is a little "tab" of sorts (can be felt with the finger) that juts out, which dug into both of my achilles. While I really want to like these shoes, I don't think I can wear them going forward.

there is no padding over the stitching in the heel where the more stiff material meets the soft material at the top of the heel. You can literally see the stitching, no padding. It will rub your heel. Serious design flaw.
