I tried 3 different Sorel boots, so I will compare them here. I ended up choosing this boot, the Harlow Chelsea. The other two I tried were the Emilie Chelsea and the Evie. I live in Texas, but I'm going to Chicago in December and need some shoes I can wear with any type of pants that will stay dry and warm that I will ALSO be able to wear in Texas. I can't spend this much on shoes to wear for a few days. I own snow boots for when I go to Colorado, but I wanted something more comfortable and stylish that I could wear with even not as skinny jeans and not necessarily in snow. MY SIL, who lives in Colorado, recommended I try Sorel. All that being said, these Harlow boots felt the best of the 3 I tried, but they were close. I am a solid size 7.5 with narrow heels and a wider toe box. I regularly have issues with shoes slipping on my heel, especially flats, but pointy shoes give me issues in the toe box. I ordered all 3 in a size 8 because I need to wear thicker socks (which is the problem with the boots I already own -- I can't wear thick socks with them). The sizing was perfect. If I didn't need thick socks, the 7.5 would have been fine. The Harlow fit a tad more snug than the other two for sure, but not a lot. I did not go with the Evie because it had more heel than I wanted, and the arch hit just a bit too far back, but if you are looking for a boot with a 1.5" heel, the Evie Wedges would be a good choice. I knew I couldn't walk in them all day AND I already own a pair of stylish boots with heels that are waterproof (Blondos -- love them!), so those were off the list. The Harlow and Emilie are VERY similar. The Harlow has more elastic around the ankle than the Emelie, so it's less stiff and more comfortable on my ankle bone. It is also narrower at the top, which I like because my ankles are narrow but my calves are larger. Narrower boots just look better on me. I like the looks of the heel on the Emelie better (just more stylish), but I had to ultimately go with comfort. The Emelie slipped more on my heel because of the wide top and wider boot in general. The Harlow cupped my heel better and locked it in place while still having plenty of room for thick socks. When I'm not wearing thick socks, I can likely just add an insole to tighten them up a bit, but even with thin socks, they aren't THAT big. So, if you have narrow heels like me, you will probably like the Harlow better. If you have wider feet, the Emelie might fit better, as it is definitely a wider boot. Both are pull on boots (that's what a Chelsea boot is), and I did have to use the pull tab in back to get them on, but it wasn't difficult (I'm in my mid-40s, if that matters). If you have high arches, they might be difficult to get on. My arches are considered average, but they are on the high side of average. They do make this boot in a tie version and the Emelie has a zip version, but both are a bit taller boots. The arch support is moderate in these boots. Not terrible, but nothing like Chacos (I tried some Chacos boots too, but they were too stiff - the arch support was awesome, though). Much better arch support than UGGs or something similar, though. AND if you need more, order a half size up and swap out the insert. They are comfortable to walk in, and the sole is rubber and grippy, so if I encounter snow or rain, it won't be a problem.
I'd also recommend:
Chaco, Blondo, New Balance, Birkenstock, Rothy's

I have narrowish heels and bunions, so wide shoes work best for me, even though the heels are loose and can slip. These shoes did not come in wide, but because of the reviews of others who needed a wide toe box and because they had round toes, I took a chance on them fitting by sizing them up a half a size. They were a style I wanted, there was little rise to the heel, the sole had an athletic shoe look that I associate with walking comfortably all day and they were loose around the ankle. My ankles ache when they are tightly laced up. I took a walk in them for the first time this morning. I needed to take out the inserts or they squeezed at the width. They were amazingly comfortable even without the inserts, though a little loose. I think a thicker pair of socks will take care of that. They are waterproof and look just fine with an amazing raincoat I have, that I have been trying to coordinate some boots with. I did try the Sorel Ainsleys, as well, but they were less feminine looking and didn’t suit the raincoat. Hope this helps.

These booties are really cute and super comfy, really feel like I am wearing sneakers. They look nice with skinny leg jeans. The only odd thing is that because there is no zipper, when I push my feet into them, my socks pull so tightly that it is little uncomfortable. They feel great without socks. I think it will just take time to figure how to put them on without pulling my socks so tightly.

Fit was perfect, they run true to size. It is a nice looking boot however they are hard to get on and off - poor design with a boot that comes that far up over the ankle. Needs a zipper. Had to return.

I absolutely love these boots! I bought them in black. I regularly wear a 9 or 8.5, and I got size 9, and they feel great. It is true that they are a tad difficult to get in and out of, but I believe this will become easier as the leather softens. But, for me, they fit perfectly around my ankle (normal to thin) and calves once they are on. There's a seamlessness when you wear black tights and a skirt - they aren't baggy and align nicely with the leg and ankle for a sleek look. They also work well with skinny or regular straight cut pants-jeans-cords.

I got the quarry color in 9 1/2. I normally wear 9 1/2 and these fit perfectly. They were a bit tight the first couple of times I put them on but I’m now in week three or so - I wear them prob 5x a week- they are amazing. They totally loosened up and are now very easy to pull on and feel very soft around my feet. The leather is very supple and the more worn looking they get, the better they look. I have worn them with pants and a dress. I love them!

I was deciding between these and the ugg hillhurst and I decided to go with these simply because they were more comfortable (once on) ...like a tennis shoe, & comfort is the most important quality to me. However they were slightly difficult to get on and would be perfect if they had used a stretchier elastic or a zipper. I’m hoping the elastic will ease a bit over time. They did seem a bit small. I sized up a half a size and glad I did. I may just add a faux fur insert so I can wear these without socks. They are cute & look great with jeans & leggings. I will get a lot of wear out of these shoes this fall and winter!

I love these booties! They’re cute and very comfortable. For me, just the right combination of style and comfort. I’m in my early 50s and healthy but my feet do get sore and need support much more than when I was young. I wore these, brand new, sightseeing in NYC all day on a cold winter day and they were warm and as comfortable and supportive as athletic shoes. They do fit a bit short and I’d say narrow (I have narrow feet so they work for me but not sure they’d be suitable for a wide foot.

I usually wear an 8 and I tried these in both 8 and 8.5. They do feel a tiny bit narrow, so if you have a wide foot they might not work. But my feet are narrowish, so they feel fine, and the length is totally true to size. Since I plan to wear them as a daily, all-day shoe, to work and on errands, I decided to keep the 8, thinking they will probably stretch a bit with wear. The 8.5 would be better if I was going to wear thick socks, but for being out in the cold and snow I would rather wear a snow boot anyway. Overall I'm pretty excited about the style of these! I've been looking for something like this for a while.

I am so glad that I bought these boots, they are just want I was looking for. I was back and forth between several different boots and am so glad I decided to get these in the ash brown. They are perfect for MN winters and look so cute. I needed something that was casual nice looking that I could wear in the ice and snow and keep on for work or running errands without wearing my big furry boots. These have excellent traction and look really cute. I spend all day on my feet as a teacher and they are very comfortable too :)

I was so happy with these boots. They arrived the day before I went on vacation. I wore them every day, walking all around London for 6 days in drizzle and puddles without a single problem. I was a bit worried at first because I have bunions and I thought the boots felt a bit too narrow but they stretched and softened within two days. I’ve read that others have had a hard time getting in and out of the boot. I have thin, flat feet and bony ankles and didn’t have a problem getting them on or off but they were definitely snug around my ankles, though that also loosened up a bit by the end of the week.

I ordered these boots and a pair of Merrells (Andover Bluff) for a trip to Scotland. I really liked these boots. They are cuter and more stylish than the Merrells but they were just the slightest bit narrow and the arch support was just a bit lacking. Considering how much walking I'll be doing in Scotland I had to chose comfort over style.

LOVE these boots! From the reviews about how difficult these boots were to put your feet into, I almost looked elsewhere... BUT, they truly go on so easily that I have to wonder what all the fuss is about. They are soooo comfortable right from the start, even with my large bunions. Absolutely incredible! Will definitely be buying more... Also received these boots in less than 20 hours - even when I didn't order until 5:30 pm the previous day... At almost half the price of Amazon... Wow! I'm very happy...

I purchased these in the Quarry color (dark brown) and in my usual size 7. The boot is very trim appearing but also functional with a grippy sole and waterproof uppers. I plan on wearing them in the mountain weather of central Arizona. The leather upper is good quality but not lined, and this size allowed for a medium wool sock for warmth if desired. I found the L boot fit perfectly out of the box but I used a shoe stretcher in the toe of the R one for a few hours. It is my bigger foot and needed a bit more room over the toes and forefoot, which the stretcher provided perfectly. The boots are extremely comfortable with cushy and supportive soles. They will work with jeans, casual pants or dress/skirt with leggings.

These fit well and was pleased Sorel is making size 12 available! However the top of the boot cut into my leg in both the front and the back. The edges at the top just seemed sharp and uncomfortable

Super narrow and uncomfortable in the toe box, no stretch to the material at all. Wanted to love them, they were SUPER lightweight which is awesome, and the sole is flexible which is good for an active-ish boot, but there wasn't any give at all from the boot across the widest part of my foot, and it was too uncomfortable to keep. Returned.

These are just what I hope for! I needed something versatile for business casual/casual days, and waterproof is a plus! I wear a 10 normally, which in what I ordered, and they are a bit loose. I find not so much that they make a blister, just not a snug fit. Wear with jeans, leggings, skirts, tights with boot socks, they’re heaven on my feet?! I’m on my feet 5-7- hours out of 10 , and have had no issues with my planters fasciitis or flares with my Lupus. The customer service is stellar as always? Stay well, thank you, see ya in the New Year!

These are the best boots that I have ever purchased! I can walk all day in these boots and when I take them off at night my feet feel great. These boots are also waterproof and that is a must have a feature living in the Pacific Northwest.

The size was actually right on. I ordered a half size larger based on other reviews and they were just slightly large, however I think that would have been fixed with thicker socks. Anyway, I decided to return them because they are just so-so, nothing special and I don't think that's worth the almost $140 that you pay for them. However, they do seem very comfortable if that's what you are going for!

I love these boots! Had foot surgery a few months ago so it took time getting used to pointing my foot into the left boot. But I got used to it and now I love them. No heel slips when walking, which has been a major issue in the past. Cushy yet stable-feeling. Great traction and no issues with water getting in. Warm, yet breathable and soft leather. Moderate arch support. I’ll enjoy these booties for years to come.

i've been wanting a chelsea boot and stumbled on this one. so glad i waited. they are soooo light, yet warm and waterproof, they withstand the elements, the leather is elegant but weightless, the sole is flexible, light-weight, i feel i am wearing the comfiest of running shoes. i teach and have worn them all day and my feet feel wonderful. they are breathable, light, yet sturdy and elegant. i adore the grey color i purchased.

Another pair of Sorel boots that I love! I normally wear a 7.5 but had to size up to an 8. They are are super comfortable with a heavy sock. The quarry color goes with almost everything. Perfect for looking stylish in cold, wet winter weather.
