These boots look and feel great. I love the side zip - that is KEY for me, as I walk my dog twice a day on the trails in MN. The sole support is cushy yet structured. That said, I would NOT recommend these boots for everyday hiking/walking in weather below freezing. My toes are always cold and weirdly damp when I get home from hour long walk. Very disappointing! I wore my North Face Shellista for 5 years and my feet were always super toasty & dry. The only reason I switched it up was to find a boot with a little more support.

These are really nice. I ordered a 9 and returned it for an 8-1/2 and they still feel too big. They look great (I ordered the black) and are perfect for the snow and ice (great tread, waterproof, etc.) where I live in the mountains in Colorado. They are very warm, the height is good for snow and I love the zipper AND the tie to get the fit around my narrow calves. I gave this 4 stars only because of the fit. Order a full size down!

Had high hopes since I like Oboz Bridger Hiking Boots (and they FIT me). But this Winter boot was TOO stiff and the Zipper and stitching (running Horizontal) RUBBED on my "bony" ankle. It is too bad as this boot has potential. I will try some of he other Oboz Winter boots. I ordered the SAME size as my Hiking Boots and it was FINE. I was concerned that the Rubber toe might bother me - BUT I had PLENTY of room in a Medium. P.S. I got a WIDE for my hiking boots BUT Medium was fine for these winter boots.

I bought the "Tan" color.
I live in the Midwest, so it can get chilly. If it is over 40 degrees and sunny, I'm hiking on the weekends. I typically do rocky and leaf covered trails along rivers, so waterproof and good traction are necessary.
I started off breaking these in by doing "urban" hikes on my lunch break - about 2 miles a day for 2 weeks. They worked great, kept my feet warm, but I learned a few things. First, do not layer socks with these. Before these boots, my feet were always cold on these walks, so I tried wearing them with 2 pair of socks, and tights under my outer pants for warmth. I have found that it is best to only wear one pair of socks with these, otherwise they bunch up and can become uncomfortable. Also, I have found that it is not good to tuck your tights into these boots. That can also be uncomfortable.
I took my first mid-range hike (5-6 miles) and wore my thickest socks. They worked great! They kept my feet warm (mid 40’s temps) and I tested out the waterproofness by walking in a few inches of water. I did not completely submerge these, but they passed my test.
My normal hike distance is 7-9 miles. I think these will do great.
I also plan on continuing to wear them on my weekly lunch walks all winter as they are easy to put on and warm.

I wore these boots with a pair of merino wool socks on their maiden hike today, 3 miles in the bitter cold (22°F), with wet places from melting ice. My feet stayed warm, dry, and comfortable the whole time. This is the 2nd pair of Oboz I've bought, and am very happy with the brand in general. I did note that once I had them laced up snuggly, the side zippers don't zip down enough to get my feet in and out. As this wasn't a selling point for me, it was no big deal, but it may matter to someone who particularly wants zippers.

I work outside during the PNW winter so we will see how they hold up. They already seem warmer than my Merrell's that were rated for snow. These fit well, make be a bit clunky for some. I like the style and the weight is minimal which is needed. Could use a little more arch support. I'll see how they live up to a hike and update with my findings.

I ordered a half size up so I could wear warm socks. They fit well even over my bunions. Very comfortable. I have not noticed the ankle problem that others have mentioned, and I have tender feet. I plan to wear them on vacation to the Pacific Northwest where it rains a lot.

I ordered a half size up. I found that waterproof Oboz are thicker than non. So a half size up is perfect.

Oboz makes great boots -- this one is great too. My only issue is that it bunches up inside where the tongue folds (yes even though it zippers) and that causes some pain. I'm hoping that with wear, it softens and doesn't hurt as much. I already had tossed the box and so I'm hopeful that this will wear in to be comfortable.

I find these boots to be comfortable and warm. Unfortunately, they are NOT waterproof as claimed. Water appears to seep in from different points, leaving my feet wet after walking in just a few inches of snow. Very disappointing. I wanted to love these based on their look and comfort but the claim that they are waterproof is misleading.

The zipper cover on the ankle dug into my lower ankle. The boot felt comfortable but when I walked the cover hit my ankle.

I love OBOZ! Have had several pairs. Great fit all the way around. The zipper on the side does not stay up. My first pair lasted a season, the second pair lasted a week.
