I love this tote, it's light weight and holds tons of stuff.... only request is it needs a trolly sleeve!!! The never check suitcase I like to use when traveling does not have a flat top and the tote does not sit well on top of it, a trolly sleeve would help this. I love all the different pockets. this and the never check suitcase was all I needed on a 10 day trip to Europe.

Bought this to carry daily for work, since i dont like a brief case. Love the color, which is a very dark dusky purple. Sturdy leather handles and trim. Lays totally flat which will make it very good for travel. My only suggestion would be to have an interior pocket for wallet, phone, etc. Outside pocket is ok, but inside would be more secure in all sorts of ways. Overall, very happy with this tote.

I really liked this bag, but I returned it because I had ordered another one which I decided I needed more. I liked that it was large but soft enough to fold if not full. I would have liked more inside pockets for pens and computer accessories. I'm thinking of reordering it, but would like to find a way to customize it.

This bag is beautiful and fits all of my personal and work necessities in it for the entire day. Plenty of room and does not hurt my back when carrying because of the longer strap option as well.

I bought this bag so that I could use it as a personal item when I travel and for work. The size is great as a travel tote, but a little too big for work. The material is durable, but I wish it had a side zipper compartment like my other Timbuk2 bags. I agree that the pull tabs for the zipper of the front pocket needs to be bit longer. I actually removed the detachable key fob and use it as a pull tab on one of the zipper instead. Another feature I wish it had is a pass through for a luggage handle, perhaps on the side without the front pocket, so that I can take the weight of my shoulders a bit.

This is a great bag for longer flights. The large main compartment means I can fit a neck pillow, eye mask, scarf (that doubles as a blanket), magazine, and so many other travel essentials. I love the Quartz leather hits and the luggage tag.

I'm a consultant based in the DC area, so I have two laptops with me every day. I also travel to visit family at least once a month. I wanted a bag that could handle two laptops and would also work as a weekender and this is absolutely perfect. So far I've been able to fit the following into this bag and STILL have more room: in the main compartment I can fit two laptops, two notebooks, file folder with papers, umbrella, S'well bottle, packable windbreaker, two glass tupperwares with breakfast/lunch, a pair of heels, and ziploc bag of chargers; in the front pocket I fit my wallet, keys, earbuds, hand lotion, aquaphor, pens, lipsticks, tissues, eye drops, and gloves. I've also traveled with this on an overnight plane trip as my personal item and didn't need to bring a carry-on.
In terms of material, I find the bag to be incredibly durable and I'm not afraid that it's going to get scuffed. The top nylon isn't as shiny as the pictures would suggest, which was disappointing because I really enjoyed the contrast on the stock photos. The hardware and leather straps are very strong and I don't think they'll come loose or break any time soon. I do wish that the part of the detachable key fob attached to the purse were longer, so I could potentially leave my keys attached to my purse as I unlock my door. I also wish that the zipper pull tabs on the front pocket were longer - it's hard to grip them without readjusting the bag.
In terms of color, the bag is not black or even grey as depicted in the picture. I would describe it as a dark navy/purple combo. In yellow lighting, it looks purple, and it fluorescent lighting, it looks more navy like the stock photos. Please see the pictures for examples. I personally enjoy the unique color combo but I know not everyone will.
I'm incredibly satisfied with my purchase and I'm excited to use this bag until its too worn to wear anymore (and then use the lifetime warranty for a replacement!).

I am a woman, a software developer and a dancer in an amatuer dance troupe.
I have a Timbuk2 command messenger which I am very happy with (replaced my old one a couple of months ago).
But as an amatuer dancer I need a solution for having a show after work, so I need my laptop (mac book pro 13''), wallet, glasses, cables, and also stuff for my dance show: dance shoes, make-up, hair stuff and other miscellaneous stuff.
This week I had my first run with it, having a show after work, 3 days ago: The laptop was safe and secure with easy reach to it, plenty of space for small items which is concealed very well, it took me a while to notice the zippers. I had a lot of stuff so it was a bit heavy but still didn't look to bulky from the outside.
The bag is very nice looking and I like the color.
The only reason I put 4 stars is because how hard it is to buy it internationally, the bag is not available on any other website, international shipping from this site is very expensive. A friend who was at the US bought the bag for me.

I live everything about this bag... except that it needs to be black. Any chance you'll be adding that option??

This is a perfect bag, because I wanted to have a big tote bag for work. I like the design, the size, and the color. One of the minus points is leather handles. Some strings came apart from leather handles. Some coating was pealed off... I have used it a few times a week only for six months... I was shocked... it is too early...

Was so excited to get another Timbuktu bag after 8 years with my first messenger bag. I figured I needed a more fashionable, "grown up" bag for my new job so I went with this bag.
First, the color is more purple-black than black, which was unexpected but kind of cool, so I kept it. The exterior fabric looks like it'd resist lint, but the texture attracts lint and causes hair, lint, dust, and any fibers from your sweaters/clothing that rubs against it to stick to the bag. I have been lint rolling it it a couple times a day to keep it from looking like a lint trap. Next, there aren't enough small pockets for pens and small items so my stuff just floats around all over the large pockets; and the laptop sleeve is very tight and makes it difficult to get my 17" MacBook in and out. All of these things wouldn't normally warrant a negative review from me, but in just a few months, the straps have frayed, which makes me question the quality. Overall, pretty disappointed.
