These turfs shoes were bought to replace other New Balance turfs that had worn out. They run a little narrow in comparison to the Pedroia turfs but otherwise are very comparable. Good wearing shoe, good price.

I play senior softball and have found the turf shoes to be a good all around shoe. This shoe feels good and the only reason I gave it 4 stars was because of it not being available in 4E widths.

Returning for a bigger size for sure, So heads up order half or a size bigger than normal... Bummer!

They are a little stiff so you can not wear them for an extended period of time until you break them in

Great feeing turf, allows for good lateral movement. Only wish they were offered in a 4E.

i use it as a walking shoe, but up to now i've always used walking shoes

I play in a men's adult baseball league and we had a game on an all turf field. The shoe held up well, but, it does seem to run a little on the narrow and small side. I got a size 10 normal width and it is a bit tight.

Haven't been able to wear them yet, I tried them on but they are every tight, need to return them and order the next size larger.

Returning. Web site says order a half size larger. I need a full size. Have worn NB 12 2E for years but 12.5 is too short. I'd prefer a larger toe box where these are narrow.

The site said shoes ran 1/2 size small, no they don't- they run a full size small! I bought 1/2 Size bigger and they are still very snug. Not unwearable but definitely not as comfortable as I usually feel in NB shoes.

Runs very small, if you buy this product get 2 sizes up, made for European sizes.

My son uses them mostly for training, workouts, hitting, fielding etc. and occasionally games they play on one of the fields that is turf.

The only reason keeping this from being 5 stars is you need to make them in 4E width. Please start making them in 4E. I would buy the wider pair in a heartbeat.

The shoes are very comforable if you buy the shoes that fit. I bought a half size to small so I reordered the next half size up. That's where the problem began. Instead of just an exchange I had to order a new pair and when they got my first pair back they would credit me for that first pair. That never happened. it's been 3 weeks now and I get the same story that it is my bank that is slow at crediting my account. My bank has nothing from New Balance. I am still trying as of today to get my credit from the first pair. Mustf say shoes are great customer service is not.

Looks great. Problemo is the toe box is too narrow/shallow.

softball, bought 2 pair. these are not up to the quality i am used to by New balance.

In the fresh foams I wear a 10 wide, ordered these the same way. Not even close, they are more narrow, smaller and very stiff much different then previous 4040s. I'll be sending them back, not sure if I'll try a bigger size or go back to the fresh foams? It's to bad because these look amazing in person.

Quality control issues again. Rt shoe substandard and unacceptable and 4040v5 are too narrow even in 2E width.

Shoes were too small have to return them sizes definitely run different on new balance.

Couldn't wear them the sizing was so poor so I returned them

I have wear a 12.5 wide due to foot structural changes after knee and hip replacements. The turf shoe model is at least a .5 size smaller than my 2 pair of 1040s. The shorter damaged the nail on my big toe.

Size I ordered was too small and extra wide width was too narrow. Had to return. Overall shoe looked great.
