I am only adding my review because I think the whether you find this shoe runs large depends on your size. I typically take a 41 in Dansko shoes ( except for the professional sole which is too short and too wide for me). My feet are a 10 1/2 and low volume, somewhat narrow. In this bootie a 41 is roomy but perfect for medium to thick socks. The rounded toe is heavenly. I love the Barbara and am wearing it daily right now as my cold weather shoe. In a 41 I think the taupe is the most attractive, casual, not too clunky looking.

I have worn danskos for years but I think their sizing is changing- I have always been a 38 but these were huge! Same thing happened with the Bettie. the wine color is fun- much more pink than red though

I usually wear a 7.5, sometimes an 8, so I purchased the 38, but it felt a full size larger. I hesitantly ordered a 37 and they fit great. I have owned both 37s and 38s before in Dansko, but my last pair of 38s (professional clog) felt a bit small so I was certain 38 would work. Guess not! Seems as though my size fluctuates with style for this brand. Regardless, I love them - comfy and super cute. I will be treating the nubuck to ensure they don't get damaged because I will probably wear them constantly.

Love these! Soooo comfortable and very stylish. I wear with pants and skirts or dresses. I like them so much I purchased in the brown and the black.

The boot runs big, I normally buy a size 38 ( size 7 1/2), but purchased a size 37 in this, and it is still a little roomy. I wore them right out of the box to a college football game and tailgate and they were perfectly comfortable! I have arthritis in my feet, and these cute boots passed the comfort test.

I have the Dansko clogs, the Maria boot, the Frankie boot, and now I ordered the Barbara boot. This boot has basically the same footbed at the clogs, and the Frankie boot It looks very similar to the Frankie boot, but has a zipper instead of elastic on the side. The heel is also brown (I have black in both boots). I though that the zipper might make it easier to get on but it doesn't. Both the Frankie and the Barbara rub a slight bit on the ankle area. I have had the Frankie for a few months and the rubbing is no longer an issue. The leather feels a bit softer on Frankie. The rubbing was never enough of an issue to really bother me, I just don't wear super thin socks with them. Overall, I would say these are almost as comfortable as the clogs, which I think are the most comfortable dansko shoe. However I don't like how the clogs look with certain pants. The Maria, Barbara and Frankie all have a slimmer profile and i think look more polished. The Maria looks the best, but I can't wear them if I am walking a lot as I have arthritis in my big toe and the angle puts a little pressure on that spot. I still wear them, but the Frankie (and now the Barbara) are my go to shoes when I will have to walk a lot. Overall, I love these bootie styles by Dansko.

These boots are so cute and comfortable and look great with jeans. However, they were obviously not new as the left boot toe box has a huge scratched off spot. Quality control needs to be improved before shipping boots out to anxious customers.

I have worn Dansko clogs for decades (as outdoor shoes and, as i currently do, as my indoor "slippers") ... so was open to exploring a different version of the Dansko brand. These boots fit into my wardrobe of New York City street shoes. They're instantly comfortable, support extensive "city hikes" i take frequently, and look great with my business casual wardrobe.

I can’t stop raving about these shoes. They feel amazing, even when I’m on my feet all day. They fit great, they feel great…the only issue is now I don’t want to wear any other shoes! I will need to get more styles & colors ASAP.

Ordered these in black nubuck a few weeks ago, after reading reviews I sized down to a 38, 7.5-8. I usually wear size 39 but these were perfect for me. The width is OK, if you have a narrow foot this isn’t the boot for you but I think even a bit wider than M could wear this. Plenty of toe room in the rounded toes, overall just a great fit and option for me. I did add a Dr Scholls ball of foot pad to accommodate my feet, works very well. The first pair I received were fine until I noticed there was a flaw in the top of the zipper, I was afraid it would/could come apart in the future so a quick call to Zappos took care of it and they sent me out another pair. Thanks Zappos. I’ve been wearing them often the past few days, they do take some time to break in and conform to your foot. I will be traveling outside of the US in a few days and excited to wear them. The style, while not the most stylish has grown on me, I think they look nice with ankle length leggings or longer leggings and jeans, even think they’d look cute with the right dress or skirt. But that’s just me and maybe I don’t have the best taste :). Anyhow the fit and comfort is great! The description says they are treated with 3M Scotchguard protector for stain resistance but I think I’m going to spray a coat or waterproofing for nubuck and leather shoes. Can’t hurt.

I ordered this shootie /bootie along with the Franklin and found I preferred the Frankie over the Barbara. Even though the Barbara has a zipper, it is still a bit harder to slip on than I expected. The Frankie is a bit hard to slip the foot into but not much and felt much better on my foot. I felt this Barbara was a bit looser on my foot. I don't think one can go wrong with either bootie....it's just my personal preference I liked the looks and feel of the Franklin better. Thanks Zappos for always giving us options!

In this order I bought a pair of Dansko wedges as well as these and love both! Glad I read through the other reviews because I had to go with a 37 when I normally wear a 38. It does take a little effort to get your foot through the opening even when fully unzipped; I would expect it could be especially challenging if you had a very high arch or a wide foot. The toupe color in a nice tone and is neutral. Super super comfortable right out of the box. I was a little worried that they would the firm insole like in the professional clog but they’re not. The insole is cushy, cozy and wicks well. I would definitely recommend and would consider buying in different colors.

I have a wide for foot, narrow heel and high instep and a foot condition requiring a rigid sole, so needless to say, shoes are hard to shop for!! These shoes fit so great, right out of the box! I purchased the black ones and I can’t wait for my brown ones to arrive.

this boot/bootie is super comfortable and super cute, once you are able to get your foot in! It definitely takes a bit to figure out how to get your heel ito the boot and maybe it will become easier once the boot is broken in (?) once on the foot, it is comfortable and looks super cute with jeans, leggings and I look forward to wearing them with dresses! I ordered the red/maroon color and the leather is supple and nice quality, still needing a good spray with weatherproof suede spray. I hope to get many years of wear!

I love this booties! Normally I wear a 39 but ordered a 38 for a perfect fit. They have a chunkier look than the normal booties but I like that look better. Wore them to work right out of the box shoe is a little stiff but Nothing that kept me from wearing them all day. Fits similar to the clog.

I love these boots. I have been wearing Dansko for over 20 years, as a nurse. I have moderately high arches, and Dansko has always felt great. With this boot style I now feel like I have some ankle support.

These boots are very comfortable and cute! I stand on my feet all day and these ankle boots provide a lot of support. I wear a thin ankle sock for extra comfort.

Normally I'm a 38 in dansko but in these I was a 37. Love them. Very comfy and enough support that my mild planter fascitis is happy. If you don't mind the look of clogs, these are a great purchase. I got the taupe and love them with flared jeans

It's the comfort of being barefoot while being totally protected by a boot--I've never had shoes this comfortable.

The fit was perfect. I generally wear a 9.5 and in Dansko’s the 39 works well for me. They are comfortable, good room in the toe area. I have had multiple foot surgeries and arthritis. The only issue I’ve had is the boots rub on the back of my leg above the ankle. Other than that, they are awesome.

I love this boot. I have the old lady bunion problem, and they still worked well. Putting them on was difficult. I purchased a shoe horn and now I can "slip" into them instead of the wiggle-struggle and "I' m afraid I'm breaking down the back." I love the look and I have no problem with using a shoe horn. I wear them every day when I have a lot more shoes to choose from. I like that this boot seems to have the typical Dansko fit that many of their shoes seem to no longer have...,SADLY.

I did purchase these boots at a local store. They are the most comfortable boots I have ever had including all of my other Dansko boots. They will get lots of wear because they are so comfortable and the leather is soft. Love them. Thinking of ordering another color.

These ares really cute booties with what looks to be a very comfortable heel. Unfortunately, I couldn't begin to get my very high arch even into the shoe to try it on, So back they go. IF YOU HAVE A HIGH ARCH YOU LIKELY CAN'T EVEN GET THESE ON.

Love this shoe - fantastically comfortable! However they do run bery large - I've always worn a 39 in Danskos and I had to return for the 38s - which fit beautifully...
