I have two of these and love them. They don't itch, they breathe, they wash and wear well, I'll use them for years. Worth the investment!

I live in Tucson, Arizona where I do not have mush need for wool blend base layers. I bought this for s snowshoeing trip to Park City, Utah. It is soft, and comfortable, and not itchy! I am wearing it under my Dacono Half Zip sweater. It fits perfectly. I am 5"3 and weigh 130. I bought a small.

Soft and comfortable for any occasion. I wear it for hiking and for lounging around the house. Perfect.

First of all, I am completely sold on Smartwool for it's FANTABULOUS staying factor: regardless of how many times it's washed, it retains it's shape, size, and color. Second, the wide range of styles and colors, particularly the red one I purchased for myself. Keep making these marvelous products.

I love the Smartwool brand and have quite a few items. I have another Smartwool long sleeved shirt in a medium and the fit is much looser. I will keep the new one though even though it's snugger than I like. It should be ok as I would layer a vest overtop. Not sure why the sizes changed. My other shirt I ordered at Christmas time so it's not old.

Very warm, light weight base layer for just about any cold weather activity. My only complaint is that it snags and frays easily .#sweepstakes

Bought this for cold ski days but haven't worn it yet besides just trying it on. It is warm, but not bulky or chunky. Fits well underneath my mid-layer plus ski jacket shell. I'm petite (5'2") so the sleeves are a tad long as well as the torso but I'm used to that...should still work fine.

The top is really cute, but not nearly as soft as the bottoms. I thought I was matching a set, but there weren't a lot of choices in my size. It has a great fit and it's really cute I just wish they were as soft as the bottoms.

I wear this for running and casual. It is very comfortable to wear. I only rated a 4 because I wish I would have purchased the one for colder conditions. But I would definitely purchase another one of these.

I have bought quite a few SmartWool products over the years. Although they are priced higher than other brands the quality is usually very good. I bought this base layer top for my fiance who likes to go outside in the winter time but has a hard time staying warm. When she opened the packaging she noticed a snag on one of the shoulders right away. We'll probably call customer service and see if we can just exchange it. I feel it's safe to say that this is a one-time thing and have been happy with the quality of the garments that I have bought from SmartWool in the past.

Let's discuss the positives. This top is amazing for back country skiing and hiking. It wicks super well while still keeping me warm. Too hot for running, but perfect for colder temps. I loved my first top so much I bought a second 6 months later. With the double layer and 50% synthetic material I thought it would have better longevity. I have had owned many merino tops in the past so I understand they're delicate.
I wear this top 1-2 times a week for 1-2 hours in the winter months. After 1 year of use I had to sew up 3 separate holes from gentle wear, one rather large one in the armpit and the others seemed to have formed at the X mark where they've patterned the shirt and material changes. Merino does not med well so I don't expect the holes to last.
I'm really hoping the 2nd shirt doesn't breakdown.

3 starts. This is my first intraknit base layer. I have 20 year old classic merino base layers that are still like new. This new one snags more and is not worth the extra money. It is also not quite as soft against the skin. Will stick with the old classic. Nice but disappointing.

Super great style, color and warmth, but the loose weave of the designs allows the fibers to be easily pulled out place. It looks messy and worn after only two wears.

I had high expectations for this bass layer, and even though it was warm for the price and how poorly it holds up, I do not recommend it. It came out of the package horribly snagged, and I had it exchanged. The second one didn't come snagged however, after one use skiing there were snags all over it again. If you don't care about the looks of it then go for it since it is warm

This shirt looked great in the store! However, after wearing/ washing it only 4 times, it began to unravel/ get fuzzy. I washed it in cold water as recommended. I work on a ship as a guide and really expected this to be my "go to" shirt this summer, but it was so tattered immediately, I didn't want to destroy it completely before asking for a refund.

Wore it once and it's unraveling in multiple spots. Really poor quality for the price.

Runs small and is quite itchy. I am surprised it is considered a base layer and you don't want it next to your skin.

Itchy! Great style and flattering look but too scratchy to put on my skin at all. I can’t believe they called this a base layer when it’s so uncomfortable,

It's OK. Sizing is off (got a M and its too big) and they messed up my order, arrived way late, and didn't offer me any compensation (like the free size exchange that i requested). For how expensive this shirt is, i expected way more. Nothing wrong w the quality of the shirt tho. Just do the expect it to be life changing lol

I have washed it once on a delicate cycle and hung dry it and threads are already starting to pull.

I was sent a top which had obviously been worn and washed. The smell of detergent was unbearably strong. Why isn’t there a system in place to check these things before allowing someone to make a purchase? Now my time will be wasted making a trip to return. Makes me angry.
