Bought this for cold ski days but haven't worn it yet besides just trying it on. It is warm, but not bulky or chunky. Fits well underneath my mid-layer plus ski jacket shell. I'm petite (5'2") so the sleeves are a tad long as well as the torso but I'm used to that...should still work fine.

The top is really cute, but not nearly as soft as the bottoms. I thought I was matching a set, but there weren't a lot of choices in my size. It has a great fit and it's really cute I just wish they were as soft as the bottoms.

I wear this for running and casual. It is very comfortable to wear. I only rated a 4 because I wish I would have purchased the one for colder conditions. But I would definitely purchase another one of these.

I have bought quite a few SmartWool products over the years. Although they are priced higher than other brands the quality is usually very good. I bought this base layer top for my fiance who likes to go outside in the winter time but has a hard time staying warm. When she opened the packaging she noticed a snag on one of the shoulders right away. We'll probably call customer service and see if we can just exchange it. I feel it's safe to say that this is a one-time thing and have been happy with the quality of the garments that I have bought from SmartWool in the past.

3 starts. This is my first intraknit base layer. I have 20 year old classic merino base layers that are still like new. This new one snags more and is not worth the extra money. It is also not quite as soft against the skin. Will stick with the old classic. Nice but disappointing.

Super great style, color and warmth, but the loose weave of the designs allows the fibers to be easily pulled out place. It looks messy and worn after only two wears.

I had high expectations for this bass layer, and even though it was warm for the price and how poorly it holds up, I do not recommend it. It came out of the package horribly snagged, and I had it exchanged. The second one didn't come snagged however, after one use skiing there were snags all over it again. If you don't care about the looks of it then go for it since it is warm

Wore it once and it's unraveling in multiple spots. Really poor quality for the price.

Runs small and is quite itchy. I am surprised it is considered a base layer and you don't want it next to your skin.

Itchy! Great style and flattering look but too scratchy to put on my skin at all. I can’t believe they called this a base layer when it’s so uncomfortable,

It's OK. Sizing is off (got a M and its too big) and they messed up my order, arrived way late, and didn't offer me any compensation (like the free size exchange that i requested). For how expensive this shirt is, i expected way more. Nothing wrong w the quality of the shirt tho. Just do the expect it to be life changing lol

I have washed it once on a delicate cycle and hung dry it and threads are already starting to pull.

I was sent a top which had obviously been worn and washed. The smell of detergent was unbearably strong. Why isn’t there a system in place to check these things before allowing someone to make a purchase? Now my time will be wasted making a trip to return. Makes me angry.

I have a past season top and this one has a much more plastic feel. Smartwool always on sale now so I think the quality has decreased and cheaper materials being used

I bought this along with 2 other pieces of undergarments trusting most reviews that this would be made from high quality merino wool and would therefore reduces the itch. I love merino products as they were super warm and comfortable but not these few pieces. I washed them twice before bring them with me on a trip and the first part of the trip my body itches and at one point rashes developed. I'm forced to bought different thermals in the middle of my trip (different brand merino wool) and my skin settled down somewhat. I spend close to $370 after tax for 3 items which I couldn't use and even if I do get store credit from their satisfaction guarantee, it is still a waste of my money since I won't be able to use their other products containing merino wool. With their prices, go somewhere else that uses higher quality merino wool that would actually reduces the itch factor.

Loved the color and appearance but after wearing it just one evening, the sleeve had two large snags that I had no idea where they came from. Just wore it a second time and again one large snag on the arm and two smaller ones in front. Would not recommend even at a lesser price.

I returned this since it was too small. I don't like clothes that tight especially on my arms.

The arms are about two sizes too small for the rest of the garment. There's a weird pinching that happens at the armpit seems. Which is so not like the normal base layers. It was also very itchy, in a way that the wool never is. Also, the color is much darker in person than it is in the pictures. And honestly I don't mind the color, but I don't care for being so different from the pictures. Just very uncomfortable and I'm surprised that it sells.
