I am a relative newbie to the world of Hoka, and it took me (and Zappos) many (many) tries to find the right one for my supinating (meaning: it rolls out with the pressure on the outside, my pinky toe side) right foot. (the Rincon is the right style / support for me and I LOVE it!) Since they work well I thought I'd try this Hupana as a non-exercise sneaker, only I hated it. It is w-a-y narrower than the Rincon -- maybe it'll stretch, but I'm not willing to give it the time. It is w-a-y shorter than the Rincon (the tips of my big toes were right up, pushing against the front of the toebox), and after just a little walk around my house I could feel discomfort in the ball of my left foot (that foot is pretty straightforward -- high arches but no supinating, no pronating). Additionally, the shoelaces are very, very short (unlike the Rincon) and the throat of the sneaker chafed my lower ankles. Can you tell this Hupana seriously did not work for me? I got the Drizzle color thinking it'd be a light, neutral, almost visually disappearing grey. Wrong, it is a beautiful deep sage green with a bit of duck egg blue. Definitely not invisible (as I like). I've been and will continue to wear my New Balance 574s as my neutral walking-around sneaker, even though it slips in the heel.
I'd also recommend:

I normally wear a 9W so that is the size I originally ordered, however it was way too big length wise. Width was fine with the laces adjusted. I exchanged them for a 8.5W and they were still too long but even with the laces as loose as I can make them the shoes were too tight. I was so uncomfortable in both pairs that I can't speak for the support or cushioning. I wasn't impressed so I returned them.

I have 2 other Hoka Styles it it seems that Hoka keeps changing styles to my disadvantage. This hit my ankle bone, yet was very similar looking to my other Hokas. Also noted bottom of sole so different which would not allow for good traction walking.
I'd also recommend:

I wear them to do HIIT exercises and a lot of walking and some moderating jogging. For the reputation of the brand, I was disappointed with the product.

I love the Hoka One Hupana Slip. I recently had total knee replacement and have back issues. The Hupana Slip shoe 'saved' me. Unfortunately Zappos does not have my size in this shoe any longer. This shoe is not flexible to for my knee or my back. Cute shoe but feels like I have on concrete blocks on my feet.

I really wanted and expected to love this shoe. I have several of the One One Cliftons (also through Zappos). I had extensive surgery on one foot almost two years ago, and I am looking for a shoe that provides solid support for walking. Since I use orthodics for my Cliftons, I slid them into the Hupanas. At first, everything felt fine. The size felt true to size. But, as I started to walk at a more vigorous pace, pain quickly came on in one foot. It was surprising and disappointing. It was so painful that the decision to return the shoe was easy. I am continuing my shoe search - thanks for Zappos' excellent customer service with orders and returns.

I love how they look, but there is an obvious seam running on the inside/top on the right shoe that gives me a blister every time I wear them. Very disappointed, I should have returned them when I had the chance, as I can no longer wear them.

The fit is sloppy for me. I couldn't take a smaller size as it would be too short but the unisex sizing makes it too big around so my feet slip forward, backward and sideways.

HOKA Hupana was on sale so I tried them but they didn't work for me. Hurt my feet so I exchanged them, which was easy to do, and I purchased a full price pair of Clifton wides but they had too much cushion and messed my back up and I had to return them also. Return process is easy and I didn't have any issues.

These shoes were highly recommended by 2 co-workers, but they seemed very narrow and aggravated my achilles tendonitis and couldn't accomodate a bunion on my right foot. All of this was probably not the fault of the shoes, but to me, they are unwearable. I spent alot of money for nothing.

These shoes are not as comfortable as I thought they would me. The back comes up too high and rubs a blister.

Purchased 7 1/2 W and 8 W. Put the 7 1/2 on first and it fit with my own arch support. Problem was the upper part of my feet hurt almost immediately. Sat down for a few minutes and tried again. Off they went into the box and shipping them back. Most uncomfortable running shoes I have ever tried on.

These run an entire size too big and they also have something weird going on with the arch that made my toe occasionally go numb. Disappointed is an understatement

I bought same size as other hoka. And they were huge. Sent them back foe smaller size and they fit the same. Called to get even smaller size and they said they cant do it again. This was not my fault. I just sent them back. Very disappointed!!!

This shoe is terribly designed. The collar is not padded and there is no way to lace the shoe that prevents the collar from rubbing at my ankle bone. A flawed Hokka product!

I liked the look of the shoe and it was comfortable at first on short walks. One long walk and my feet and back began to hurt. These shoes are not good for high arch, ended up returning.

Ordered 9 1/2 Wide and they were shorter than the 9 1/2 and still tight over the top of my foot. Had to contact customer service to return and he told me these shoes don't fit everyone, so I decided to forget trying any more Roka's due to that employee.

I had a slight balance problem and I thought that these shoes would help with that and they did not and it seemed like they made it worse.
