I really liked the look of these, but they didn't work for me. I have high instep and couldn't get them on. They're going back. Darn it!

I first converted to Salomon when I went hiking in the Grand Canyon last year and needed a pair of hiking boots. They were so unbelievably comfortable since then whenever I need a pair of outdoor shoes, I shop Salomon first. Well it's now early December and the temp has dropped and I wanted a pair of running shoes. I came across the Nocturne and I like the concept of the cuff/gaiter around the ankle. It's a pull on style shoe and it was a struggle at first to pull on however with the pull tabs and some practice it's now a breeze even with thicker socks. They're true to size and give me enough room in the toe box, provide plenty of support and most of all they're comfortable.

I bought these a couple months ago because I heard salmon's were really comfortable. I have plantar fasciitis and my feet hurt all the time. They have cushion from all angles around the foot (really nice support, like my foot was in place) and a cute pattern, so I decided to give them a go. The ultimate test- I wore these going to Wonderland (amusement-rollercoaster park), was on my feet for 12 hours, and they did not hurt- I repeat, did not hurt. Not a shoe i'd normally choose because of the design (it has an extended, light-weight material wrapping the ankle), but i'm happy with them. Note: the zebra-print is nice for night time runners because they're reflect lights from cars.

So close and yet so far.
When I tried these on I thought I finally had the perfect running shoe, but that I had left some of the packaging in - but nope it was the reflective stripe, which is very inflexible, stiff and uncomfortable .
The rest of the shoe is superb. No other spots rub, the toe box is wide enough and the cushioning would be supportive on a run on the road or a moderate trail, yet lightweight.
This is a pull on style, and while it is a bit awkward to get your feet in, not a dealbreaker for me - could get annoying though.
