The fit is very similar to Speedcross as far as I recall. By which I mean I do not own a pair oftheSpeedcross, only tried them on some time ago in a store. Sizing is consistent with Salomon boots such as X Ultra or Quest 4d. That means lengthwise they fit smaller than S/lab Sense 8 or Sense Pro 3 and certainly smaller than S/lab Ultra 3. I was a little concerned about the (apparently limited) width of their toe box but after a couple of 10k runs I must say that it does not seem to be a problem. What a problem is though, at least for me, is the rather significant heel and overall stack height. Although Salomon claims it is "only" 30 mm at the heel, I strongly doubt it differs from Spikecross (37.4 mm, essentially the same shoe sans the gaiter) or Speedcross (35 mm). It makes me wonder how reliable these posted stack height numbers actually are. Anyway, if you suffer from chronic ankle injury like I do or you are otherwise concerned about your ankles' stability, this may be something to think about. This is why what I plan to use them for will be runs on smoothly packed mid winter snow. There likely won't be too many of them for me though as those are the prime XC skiing conditions too. I don't trust them, or my ankles for that matter, in slushy snow covering wet rocks and roots. That said, I took my chances and used them recently for a couple of (very careful) early winter conditions runs. They stayed dry and felt quite warm even for my permanently cold toes.
The one wish I would have for Salomon designers besides of lowering the overall stack of the sole, and I realize this is unlikely to happen even if this review ever reached any of them, is adding the feature that was called "Active Support" (if I remember correctly) in the Outpath Pro shoes, that was giving an option to extend the shoe lacing above one's ankle and increase the stability of the shoe in difficult conditions.
This is what they are for me. Special running shoes that should serve very well but only in very specific running conditions.

I had a pair of Snowcross CS and absolutely loved them for running during the winter, but needed a new pair. The Snowspike CSWP was what came up since the Snowcross CS seem discontinued. Really like them. Beware of the size, I had Snowcross CS 9s so ordered 9s as well for the Snowspikes, but they are a tad bigger unfortunately which isn't ideal. Did not return them since I needed asap them for a race... The size issue is why I gave 4 stars, but they still deserve 5 stars. I love these for running in the winter. Warm, super light, waterproof, awesome traction and great support on the foot. Recommend them to anyone who wants to run during the winter on ice/snow.

This may be a quality control issue- I just received my shoes and the right one fits perfectly. The left shoe is significantly smaller- enough that I truly believe the size was mislabeled on the tongue. I checked and it does show as the correct size, but both the length and the last are so much different from the other (right). I could never wear these running- the left shoe is uncomfortable to almost the point of pain.

I have not purchased these, having had several Solomon's previously and seeing these have a slim fit there's absolutely no way I could squeeze my foot in even if it's a plus size. If you have a slim fitting ability I am jealous and until Solomon starts making things for both wide or generous and slim I'm going to be left shoeless.
