It's nice and warm and runs true to size. My one hang-up about this jacket is that the pockets on the chest make the bust look funny. It makes you look rather chesty because of the way the pockets add dimension. That sounds like it'd be nice but it just makes the jacket look bulky up top, rather than sleek. Aside from this, it does the job just fine.

I was looking for something fashionable that didn't look like a technical jacket. Love the color. I am usually a mediium and it ran big. Even the small is boxy through the middle. I like the adjustable waste but wish that it didn't require me to tie knots. Really warm. I can't wear a wool sweater under it most of the time or I am too warm and also too bulky.

this jacket is very nice and warm and waterproof which is great for commuting, however, the sherpa lining in the hood makes it so bulky that it's very uncomfortable to wear a backpack at the same time as this jacket. it could have done without the lining there. the fit is much nicer than previous seasons of insulated shells though. the arms are nice and snug and the drawstring waist is perfect

This jacket has everything I wanted. It has lots of warm pockets that zip up, Omni-heat in the sleeves, and the warm Sherpa. It's started to go from fall to winter here and this jacket is great at keeping out the cold and wind, even in a Midwest winter. I really enjoy this jacket

Purchased another of your jackets in an XL, but returned it because it was huge & heavier than I wanted. This South Canyon jacket seemed to be more the correct weight & I ordered it in an XL, too so I could layer under it. Well, the jacket is absolutely beautiful, but this XL is too tight in the shoulders, arms & chest. Unfortunately, it doesn't come in a larger size. Very difficult to be motivated to try any more Columbia products with this inconsistent sizing. If it fits, you will probably love this jacket for cool spring & cool fall weather. That's what I wanted it for. Sad old Linda!

I had been watching this jacket online for months, and finally made my purchase. It's a nice jacket but unless you're a size 0 like the model it will not look the same on. I'm a size 8, I bought a large and it fits perfectly however very bulky in the chest. Not very flattering on. As far as warmth goes, you're still having to wear layers, don't take this jacket anywhere colder than Oregon.

Was finally delivered today after waiting anxiously for what seems like forever. Ordered both L & M. Medium is my size but it looked too exact on the model pictured on the website. Didn't know if Large would be too large or just right. Well... Just as I thought, the medium is too exact. Too fitting. No room to wear layers. Also lots of trouble with the zipper. Medium it tight at the bottom which adds to the difficulty of zipping. It gets stuck just where it goes in the zipper slot. Unable to pull it up without a whole lot of effort. A little too much material there but even moving that to the side, it's like the zipper slot is too dry. Now the large. Plenty of room for layers, but it fits so odd. Actually both sizes do and like someone else said, the zippered pouches/ pockets right over the breast give the breast an odd shaped look. It's kind of tight there and protrudes on the sides of each breast. I can't even imagine how it will look if you actually put something in them. I like the coat very much but mostly I like the color, Camel. If I could find a different coat in same color, same price, I'd probably try that coat. The medium has to go back because of the zipper. Not sure if I will keep the large. Its big and odd fitting but when it's cold outside, I don't really care about that. I'll be sure not to put anything in the top pockets though. And there's an inside pocket that leads to the same breast area. It will probably look really interesting if you use that pocket at the same time as the others, but also because there's only one inside pocket so that one side will be larger than the other I imagine. The pockets are all pretty deep.

This jacket was warm. But, it was too tight around the under arms. It was a fine otherwise. Didn't have a whole lot of style to it. Had to give it back.

I saved up to purchase this jacket and received it yesterday. Just tried it on and literally cried at how disappointed I am with this garment. First off it took over 5 minutes to be able to disengage the bottom zipper from the track. It came from the factory (I hope) with fabric caught in the zipper. OK - ready to try it on. I am 5'6" tall 140lbs. I generally wear size 10 but size up to 12 in some garments for loose comfort. I chose the Olive - Size Large in this jacket. The fit was ridiculous. The length on the arms was extreme, coming almost to my finger tips despite the interior cuff. Meanwhile, the seam that runs under the arm pit and circles the upper arm was super tight. My arms are slim and I was wearing only a tee shirt. Even with the long arms and the tightness of the arm seam, the shoulders were rising above my shoulders making it look like the jacket was shrugging. Ick. The bust area was OK for a 36 small B but a larger chest would be squeezed. My squeeze happened in the waist and hips and fit like a pencil skirt. Forget about sitting down without unzipping the jacket half way up from the bottom. There would never be a need to use the draw cord waist so my figure basically presented as a rectangle. Uggggg. The Olive color is nice, the sherpa lining bright white and the hood is large enough to cover a beehive hair-do. The fabric appeared to be solid enough to last more than 1 winter season. When I finish crying, I'm going to start the return process.

I really did try to like this one. I am forced to return this because though in pics it appears to be a comfy fit, in reality, I felt quite puffed up and restricted, simultaneously. I liked the fabric description and color (camel brown) but when it came down to the actual wearing bit, it simply didn't look or fit right, sort of like it appeared to be loose but in fact I felt like I couldn't move my various body parts with ease.
