I typically ride my motorcycle everyday to and from work. Lately the temps have been between 45-60 degrees which of course feels much colder when you're riding at 70 mph. With just a 3/4 zip long sleeve underneath this jacket I can completely comfortable in these conditions. The jacket is definitely wind proof and very warm. The only fit issue I have is it feels right across the upper part of my back. I am 5'10 185 lbs. I am wearing a large which is a good fit other than what I just mentioned. Even so in most case scenarios that fit doesn't even come into play but I do think and XL would be the better fit. I love this jacket and would definitely recommend to anyone without question.

Thermoball is awesome for hiking around 32-50 deg. I also wear it everywhere else because of its stylish looks. Its lightweight and compact for packing as well. I LOVE IT!

Even though the zipper broke on jacket #1, I really like the product and am happy that NF replaced so easily and quick

This is a jacket that we bought for our employees. Very well received by the men and women. They liked that the jacket was able to be folded up into the small bag and still keep them warm.

I do a lot of nature videography that requires me standing in rivers or hiking through cold terrains. With all the camera gear I lug around, I wanted an effective and lightweight coat. The thermoball was my first choice and I have not been disappointed. It also allows me to shed layers and pack away the jacket with ease if needed. I highly recommend the thermoball jacket for anyone that likes freedom of movement without sacrificing warmth.

Originally bought one for my 16 month old grandson and loved the quality workmanship and how it looked on him. I liked it so much, I bought the same style and color jacket for myself, so now we're "twining"! Its really lightweight but very warm and I have received numerous compliments from people I meet and at the office where I work. I love my new North Face jacket!

This coat is amazing! Bought it as a gift for my boyfriend... he loves Northface... and bought his normal size not realizing the coat is slim fit. He loved it but it didn't fit so we went to the store to exchange it for the next size. Unfortunately the store didn't have it so we had to return it and order it online. Problem was I purchased it during a holiday sale and so to get the sale price the manager had to do a return for the coat I bought, then an online order for the larger size, then a final transaction for the price adjustment! So much extra work just for an exchange but she did it all so willingly and with a smile! I will go back just for the service!! Thank you NF!

So, I've been looking for a lightweight jacket like this. I'd had a North Face down vest that lasted me for 12 years. The vest still worked great - countless washings, still insulated perfectly. It just got hideous looking. LOL! I bought this Thermoball jacket, and loved it immediately. It's surprisingly warm, very lightweight, fits like a dream. The feature of stuffing it into its left pocket makes for easy packing. I love this so much that I bought ones for my wife, daughter, and granddaughter. I think it's somewhat unique in a world filled with quilted jackets, due to the combination of features. I consider this water-resistant rather than water-proof. But, even wet, it keeps me warm.

This jacket is perfect under a TNF soft shell in weather in the 30s. In the 40s it's nice just by itself. Packs fairly small and fits in a pack or easily strapped onto a pack. Also works great as a travel or camp pillow when packed.
The fit calculator recommend that my height and weight should be a medium. But I'm more athletic build across my shoulders and back. So that made the medium too small across the back of the jacket. Something to think about if your ordering and caught between med and large. I ordered the large and it fit perfect fine.

Purchased as a gift for a 6'6" recipient. The sleeve length is perfect as well as the overall length of the jacket. It is a little big in width but needed the larger size to accommodate shoulders and arm length.
