they run a little too narrow and I have narrow feet. they also squeak with every step which is most annoying not only for me but for those within earshot. They do have good support and I have worn them outside so cannot return them. going forward I would not buy them again.

LOVED previous editions of Brooks Addiction Walkers (fall, winter) and Ghost (summer). With commercial orthotics, they are the most comfortable shoes for my back I have ever worn, and are my day-to-day shoes. However, the newer iteration of the Addiction Walkers has a disappointing feature: the sole. Uppers and laces still look like new, yet the heel is already showing significant wear. More importantly, the tread is like tire tread, with tiny grooves allover. During even short grocery runs, or dog walk on sidewalk, so much gravel gets stuck in the grooves that it scratches my hardwood floors. I cannot afford 15 min every day with a tiny screwdriver to scrape out every last little pointy bit of stone. Very disappointed. Will not reorder until a sole more like the Ghost is featured. (Would also love availability in tan, as many reviewers have mentioned over the years.)

Incorrect fit and the leather seems like plastic. Not good quality.

Fit was fine; but I assumed the body of the shoe would be canvas-like, as athletic shoes usually are. Instead it was plastic-like (or maybe leather-like), which rubbed uncomfortably against the corns on my little toes. Had to return, too bad, nice looking shoe, and it does come in Narrow (which it seems very few shoes do nowadays!).

Like the support the shoes give my arches. No aching feet when I get done walking 3 miles. Perfect fit too.

Well made shoe. Fit and sizing as expected. Problem area: very squeaky shoe, an issue that has not been much of a problem in the past. This pair is about the fifth pair I have had in this model. The squeaking noise is slightly less after the second week of wear. I like an all-leather shoe for winter time wear.

Nice looking, fairly comfortable. I had higher hopes for these, but they seem to be doing the job. The weirdest part is the toe box. I had to size up to a 9 which I have never worn in my life. My toes kept bumping into the front. I have many models of Brooks, from road to trail running, so I didn't expect such a discrepancy in sizing. These are slightly too big now but better than jamming my toes.
4/5 stars because 3 seems too low and 5 is certainly too generous.

Best, most comfortable most supportive walking shoe I have ever owned. On my 3rd pair; thank you for the wonderful leather! Keep em coming.

The shoes are good quality and nice looking, but felt unsafe for me: I felt I was being tilted backward. I am a senior and can't affod to lose my balance.
I'd also recommend:
New Balance

I ordered them and unfortunately they showed up stained yellow and discolored. I was advised to return them for a refund and place an order again, but they still showed up in the same condition.

I had high hopes for this shoe, but somewhat disappointed. I am in a job where I am on my feet all day and the comfort is just not there. It runs a little wide and large, as well. Order it smaller if you try it.

Love this shoe but toe box is too narrow for a wide foot. Tried different sizes to try and make it work but sadly it doesn't help.
I'd also recommend:
The best shoe for toe box width was New Balance but not the quality of shoe as Brooks

I was on the USA made website and thought these were made in America and so I ordered them. When they arrived, it said made in Taiwan. I was not happy about this but as I needed shoes badly, I kept them. They fit fine and look fine, however, they are extremely warm. I will probably not order another pair.

Purchased for work in kitchen & store. They are NOT Slip Resistant. Have almost fallen several times on wet floors. They are good for arch support and are comfortable for 8 plus hours on my feet. Worn daily since purchased this summer.

Fit was at least a full size smaller than what I usually wear. I couldn't tell the arch support because it didn't hit correctly. I will be returning them.
I'd also recommend:
Asics, but they don't make a narrow, black walker anymore.

I wore the Brooks addiction I for years because of my planter fasciitis. I do not like the new Brooks addiction II nearly as much they are stiffer sometimes look and feel like plastic and they do squeak when walking Brooks you need to go back to the original style.

I do not believe the walker addiction 2 are true to size, these run smaller then the other Walker addictions I bought the same size I have in the past and the 2 my toes touch have no room width is smaller, I love these shoes now I have to return and try a size bigger.

I started buying the original walking addiction several years ago after I was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis. I loved that they were lightweight & came in black leather that I need as a letter carrier. I now have other foot issues & the podiatrist was happy with this sneaker choice. I found that the walking addiction II isn't as good as the original but it's the only black leather sneaker that I can walk 10 miles a day in.

I spoke with a Customer service rep, but didn't think she was helpful. Makes me wonder if I should stop ordering my shoes on Zappos and return to shoes stores to try on.

I’ve had multiple foot and ankle surgeries and have worn Brooks shoes for the past 15 years. My right foot is size 6.5 B and my left foot is size 6 nearly B. I wear my shoes with Thorlo padded socks, custom full orthotics, and ideally a foam insole so I need to size up. In 2013 I bought the original Addiction Walker size 7D, in black leather. Because of the pandemic I decided to shop online. I ordered several different sizes and styles of Brooks shoes (Ghost 13 and Addiction 14) in addition to the Addiction Walker 2 in both the leather and suede uppers. As other reviewers noted, the Addiction Walker 2 fits smaller and narrower than the original. Also, the shoe laces on the new version are not long enough to thread through all the holes, which I need for stability. (Yes, I can buy longer laces but it’s frustrating when I’m spending $130+ for a pair of shoes with laces that are too short!) Plus I noticed a few differences between the leather and suede Addiction Walker 2 versions. The leather upper was stiff and uncomfortable, while the suede upper felt softer, narrower, and not as deep as the leather upper. I was also concerned about how the suede would wear (is it really suede or a suede fabric?) and how it could be cleaned. I clean my original Addiction Walker with mild soap and water on a cloth. From my perspective the changes to the Addiction Walker 2 are not improvements. I believe that this is a perfect example for the old saying: “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”! But I really needed new shoes, so I selected the white leather in 7.5 D which fortunately was back in stock. I agree that people need to size up at least a half a size and they may also want to consider a wider width when ordering.

Been wearing these shoes many yrs..was really disappointed this last time. Whatever they did to this shoe they need to undo. Heel feels up to high, toe box more narrow, everything feels off with their "improvement"

I don't know, I'm stumped after this and I need good fitting shoes

They seem very solid. I've only had them for a couple of weeks but they feel really heavy and they are hot! I know it's summer but I didn't realize they would be this hot. They run small so I am pleased I requested a larger pair. I wish they had a more fun design.

Have carried mail for 21 years and been faithful to this shoe but it is starting to seem as though the quality has steadily gone down while prices increase. Don't last near as long as they used it.

My three star rating has nothing whatsoever to do with the size or fit or appearance. I have actually ordered these shoes for at least the last 10 years. I have numerous foot problems and these have been the only shoe I’ve been able to wear comfortably. My issue is not with size fit or comfort. I have actually recently ordered two of these pair of shoes because the first pair was considered defective. The issue with the shoe was a very loud squeaking while walking. I could not wear them it was so loud. I ordered a second pair as advised by your sales representative. The second pair of shoes has a slight squeak but I am hopeful that that will dissipate in time. Just an FYI, the problem is the leather material on the tongue rubs on the underside on the inside of the shoe. Hopefully the manufacturer will investigate and correct. I’ve never had this happen before with previous Brooks addiction walkers. Everything else about the shoe is perfect! Thanks for listening. PS your customer service is amazing!
