This is the first time I've bought the leather version. I've been wearing Brooks Addiction for several years and love the wide toe and the heel that's narrow enough not to slip on my narrow heels. The leather version, not surprisingly, is a bit stiffer than the suede/cloth but still very comfortable. I replace the insole with my custom orthotics, which may be why the shoes feel a little warm after several hours.

I have always ordered Brooks Addiction Walkers in a size nine. I found this new iteration to be a half size shorter.

I don't run, I walk on city streets. I have an extremely wide and relatively short foot and these in size 7-1/2 WW are the closest fit you offer. I still have to take them to the shoemaker to be stretched. My foot fits into a SAS men's 6WW or WWW but all of those are too open. Yours keep my feet warm but still pressure my toes. Support is good but I add custom supports too.

These shoes fit what I needed. A good-looking walking shoe that could accommodate my custom orthotic. The fact that they are well-constructed and comfortable right out of the box is really a plus.

Well-made shoes. Good room in the toe box; I was able to use my custom orthotic. Look of the leather was nice. While I liked them, I decided I’d prefer black shoes so I returned them and ordered the same shoe in black.

I ordered a size bigger than I typically wear per a recommendation, which the size fit. I walk at minimum 9 miles, 5 days out of the week with my job. The rubber on tip of one toe has started to peel back. All leather does cause more moisture, but I am trying different socks. Overall a comfortable walking shoe.

These shoes are a great buy if you like a little extra comfort for the winter months. They are made with a sturdy leather upper and have a substantial arch support for those who are on their feet for long hours at a time. I was a bit disappointed with the width. I have to wear arch supports and they take up a little more room then an insole, so the room in the toe box gets compromised because of them. But other than this, I think they are a really well made pair of shoes.
I'd also recommend:
New Balance in the extra wide width.

Shoes give good support and come in narrow. However, the edges of the shoes around the ankle are too high and rub my ankle bones.

Shoes are comfortable except for me I found the shoes are not true to the size. I ordered size 10N I I am not comfortable with the way the shoes length fits. They feel to me as the size 10 is more like size 9 1/2.

Shoes are very comfortable, but very ugly. Do orthopedic shoes have to look so clinical?

This model is not as "Narrow" as previous models, so bunches up in front of laces.

My feet suffer terribly from overpronation, bunions, hammertoes and osteoarthritis in my feet, and the only shoes I could wear for years and I chose beige. However, Brooks no longer offers its Addiction Walker in beige -- they only offer black and white. i refuse to wear white shoes which only makes my already troubled feet stand out. The other Addiction Walkers offered are made of perforated suede which does not give as much support to my feet. This year, I'm going with New Balance 928 v3 in beige.

First, I love Zappos. They were friendly, helpful, efficient and even had jokes prepared while waiting on the phone.
Now for the shoes: I fell in love with my Brooks Addiction Walkers 1 after trying many other shoes and brands. I have had major back surgery and need a shoe that feels solid and really supports me. The Addiction Walker 1 did that but the Addiction Walker 2 is less comfortable and has a cheaper feel to it. There is only one row of stitching on the toe instead of two and the shoe just feels flimsier. Over all, all I'm a little disappointed and frustrated that the first Addiction Walker is no longer available as it took me several tries to find it.

These shoes are very comfortable and supportive for me, with the exception of the toe box. I have foot and ankle issues, and I have a very difficult time finding shoes that I can wear all day long, being on my feet 12+ hours per day as a teacher. I have alternated between the Brooks Addiction 2 and New Balance 928 for quite some time. The Addiction 2's feel a little more flexible and "hug" my foot better, but the squished toe feeling has made me decide to go back to the New Balance. I have been measured by an orthotics specialist as a 10.5 medium, and this seems to be the correct size for me in the Addiction 2 as they are long enough and wide enough, but my toes still feel cramped. Going up half a size would make the rest of the shoe too large. I believe the issue is a shallow toe box and my big toe is hitting the top of the shoe. It gets a little better after wearing them for 2 weeks or so. It's a disappointment, because I think these are better looking than the New Balance 928v3, but I am going to go back to the New Balance for the toe room. I wish Brooks would consider all the reviews mentioning the toe box and modify it just a bit. If that happens, I will come back and try them again.

I like the shoe. The toe compartment is not as wide as the addition walker in the past.

they run a little too narrow and I have narrow feet. they also squeak with every step which is most annoying not only for me but for those within earshot. They do have good support and I have worn them outside so cannot return them. going forward I would not buy them again.

LOVED previous editions of Brooks Addiction Walkers (fall, winter) and Ghost (summer). With commercial orthotics, they are the most comfortable shoes for my back I have ever worn, and are my day-to-day shoes. However, the newer iteration of the Addiction Walkers has a disappointing feature: the sole. Uppers and laces still look like new, yet the heel is already showing significant wear. More importantly, the tread is like tire tread, with tiny grooves allover. During even short grocery runs, or dog walk on sidewalk, so much gravel gets stuck in the grooves that it scratches my hardwood floors. I cannot afford 15 min every day with a tiny screwdriver to scrape out every last little pointy bit of stone. Very disappointed. Will not reorder until a sole more like the Ghost is featured. (Would also love availability in tan, as many reviewers have mentioned over the years.)

Fit was fine; but I assumed the body of the shoe would be canvas-like, as athletic shoes usually are. Instead it was plastic-like (or maybe leather-like), which rubbed uncomfortably against the corns on my little toes. Had to return, too bad, nice looking shoe, and it does come in Narrow (which it seems very few shoes do nowadays!).

Like the support the shoes give my arches. No aching feet when I get done walking 3 miles. Perfect fit too.

Well made shoe. Fit and sizing as expected. Problem area: very squeaky shoe, an issue that has not been much of a problem in the past. This pair is about the fifth pair I have had in this model. The squeaking noise is slightly less after the second week of wear. I like an all-leather shoe for winter time wear.

Nice looking, fairly comfortable. I had higher hopes for these, but they seem to be doing the job. The weirdest part is the toe box. I had to size up to a 9 which I have never worn in my life. My toes kept bumping into the front. I have many models of Brooks, from road to trail running, so I didn't expect such a discrepancy in sizing. These are slightly too big now but better than jamming my toes.
4/5 stars because 3 seems too low and 5 is certainly too generous.

The shoes are good quality and nice looking, but felt unsafe for me: I felt I was being tilted backward. I am a senior and can't affod to lose my balance.
