As with many others - Podiatrist recommended - so that tells you everything you really need to know if you want to take care of your feet, correct or avoid pain so you can keep moving. Yes, they look clunky, but at 76 years I can run again without pain because of shoes like these, orthotics and HOKAs. Brooks - make them a little more stylish and you’ll have gold mine of other buyers who need them but are also worried about their appearance.

As someone who has enjoyed and benefitted substantially from wearing Brooks Addiction Walkers for quite a number of years now, I'm really happy to report that whatever physical changes may have been made to an already excellent shoe...other than the obvious design motif change....my feet are reporting back to me as happy campers!

I'm diabetic and my podriatist has prescribed these for years, I loved them but this new revision is a far cry from the qualituy of the old ones. Old ones: thick, solid leather upper; heavy sole, stitched leather everywhere, lining from heavy cloth New ones: feels like some melding of leather and foam rubber, sole is very light, but feels solid like standing on a plastic block, feels like stretchy material around your foot which of course provides no feeling of support like the old ones. JUST DOES NOT FEEL LIKE A LEATHER SHOE. Zappos is one of my top favorite 2 or 3 businesses. Customer support out of this world. I will switch back to the New Balance 883 which my podiatrist at teh Mayo prescribed years ago, but they changed so I went to Brooks, but now am going back, the Brooks feel like a stretchy foam rubber shoe. Brooks told me they "upgraded" the shoe to be more modern in looks and styling, so as to keep their customer base. Instead they will lose it.
I'd also recommend:
New Balance 883 (or 833)

The soles on this new version don't have as much tread as the original. I have already fell down once. I will not buy them again

I have bought about 14 pairs of these over the years! this new brand the little flap on the end of the toe has come unglued, and has flopped out !! kind of unattractive!! Otherwise I believe they are an incredible shoe!!!

I've always worn Brooks, being a UPS Driver I'm constantly walking and stepping in and out of the truck easily taking over 1500 steps a day. With these new brooks addiction walker 2's my feet feel supported and comfortable all day.

The Addiction Walker I bought and wore for years was perfect. I could put new ones on out of the box and start walking. The new edition is a comfortable shoe, but not for walking. The sole, especially under the heel, is too stiff. Instead of trying to break them in, I returned them to the retailer.

The original Brooks Addiction Walker in the suede nubuck was the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. I have gone through 6 or 7 pairs of them over the years. When I recently went online to buy a new pair, I was stunned that Brooks was no longer making the original version and had replaced it with the Addiction Walker 2 model. This new Brooks Addiction Walker 2, number one, does not come in the suede nubuck so I ordered the black model. After one day I knew that Brooks had ruined the most comfortable work shoe I had ever found. These shoes are killing my feet. In short, they suck!!!!

Very disappointed in the 2nd iteration of this shoe, the originals seemed to last a good while, but I've gone through two pair of the walker 2 now, and each time the inside of the shoe is quick to wear.

The fit is fine, like the ones I have been buying for years. But the sole, especially under the heel, is very stiff like a plank, and will take some time to get used to. Brooks has lost their way on this model.

Finally the best comfort and support shoe that looks nice enough for the office! Next, make one that is even a bit dressier!

I use these as everyday shoes for support and balance. I'm very pleased. I will probably get a brown pair soon.

I have used this brand for years with satisfaction: quality, easy adjustment to individual feet, appearance, etc. Latest shoes show improvement from prior years,

The shoes are great for support and walking and durability. The problem is the black is rubbing off and staining my white socks. Is there something we can do to stop the color from bleeding ?

It was a 1/2 size too small. Had to return it. Great return policy at Zappos.

I work a support job in a major retail department store. I am constantly on my feet the whole time I am at work, except for breaks. These shoes help me to do my job and keep going by giving me proper support while being on concrete floors 4 - 6 hours at a time.

Looks better than 1st gen but not as cushioning/supportive of a shoe. I'm a big guy that works on his feet about 10 hours/day. With original moon shoes, no pain and comfortable for at least 6 months then starts to break down. New model after a couple weeks, am having plantar fasciitis and ankle discomfort unlike 1st gen.

I?ve recently started clinical rotations as a Radiography student and I purchased these to be on my feet for 8+ hours a day. The shoes had to be all black and non porous and I chose these. They are comfortable. I had worn the original Brooks addiction walker as a valet and they absolutely saved my feet. I?d only ever worn cheap shoes for work and had a stretch of 3, 18hr days over TX OU weekend that left me unable to stand. In an emergency, basically, I purchased the original walker, reluctantly because of how ugly they were, but by the end of a day that started with me thinking I?d done serious damage to my foot, I had fully recovered and felt great. After 6 weeks in these I like them as much as the 1st addiction walker. They work incredibly as far as comfort and plantar fasciitis is concerned. Unfortunately they just don?t tick all the boxes for me. I bought these hoping they would be more stylish but they?re just grandpa shoes. You can?t get past it. They also do not breathe. I?ve never had a problem with foot odor. I don?t wear a pair of socks more than once, but because of the trapped sweat, I?m dealing with major foot odor that I?m catching whiffs of while working, and it?s awful taking the shoes off at the end of the day. I very much am a Brooks fan and am grateful for their return policy. The products are solid. You gotta make this thing breathe and figure out a black leather shoe that isn?t embarrassing for someone under 60 to wear. Thank you.
