Like many, I have a couple of winter jackets that are so warm that if you leave the cold for a moment (like going to a grocery store) you can start to get too warm. Not with this coat! I had to have my car towed and I was comfortable waiting for the tow (37), riding in the tow truck (heater on) and then back waiting for a Lyft and rideing home. I adore this coat!

I bought this for a friend and she wore it on a hike with temps in the low 30s. Very warm and comfortable.

My boyfriend got me this jacket as a present and it's exactly what I wanted. It's not too heavy yet keeps me warm and being from Florida, we freeze anywhere else so my new jacket is perfect! Very comfortable too! Definitely recommend!

Needed a winter coat that was not too bulky for running errands and walking, this coat is perfect and super warm. I receive lots of compliments on it and waterproof is a bonus.

This coat is warm but isn't super bulky compared to other down coats I've owned. I've only worn it a few times but the fabric is thick so hopefully no escaping feathers! The thumb holes are a huge plus as I hate driving in gloves. I wish the hood were detachable but that's minor.

I like this jacket. I needed a warm winter coat, and wanted to purchase something different than the more traditional puffy jackets that are out there. This one is more understated, and keeps me very warm and dry. There are pulls at the base of the jacket which you can use to tighten it around your waist - another feature that I really like, as it keeps the wind from whipping up into the inside of the jacket.

I purchased this jacked to wear in the city for the winter. Since I have gotten the jacket I have been wearing it every day since it is very cold in the morning and I am positively surprised/impressed. This jacked is very warm, light and seems to be wind proof. The jacked has 2 "handwarmer pockets" and 2 inner pockets which I find very convenient. Furthermore, it also has cuffs with thumb holes which was one of the reasons I decided to get this jacket. It seems like the jacket is also very sturdy and I have had no problems with down leakage as there might be with other down jackets. Pro: + warm, 650 down filling, Omni heat + light +no down leaking + windproof + zipper reaches over chin + Smart casual + 2 outer and 2 inner pockets + adjustable hood + compatible with wider hips + strap to tighten rim around hips + Cuffs with thumb hole! Cons: - does not look very flattering if the pockets are stuffed too full.

I live in California where it hasn't gotten really cold yet but the moment I put this jacket on I was sweating so I'm hoping it will stay that warm in freezing and below temps. I partially bought this because it is waterproof as well as wind proof. I like my jackets a little big and I have broad shoulders and thicker arms. I tried a L, which is a size up from what I normally am and it was right. I tried an xl, and it would be fine without a sweater. I ended up getting a 1w, even though it's about 3/4 inches too wide. With a sweater on it should be fine.

I wore this jacket for the first time to a football game in London. It was raining and this jacket kept me warm, almost too warm. Lol But it's not bulky. If you want to wear bulky clothing I would suggest maybe sizing up. But it runs true to size for me. 5ft 8. 160 pounds and ordered a medium.

I love the comfort and warmth of down but it is impossible to find a waterPROOF (not water resistant) down jacket. Living in Portland, Oregon it's very important to have a warm coat that can withstand all the rain! This jacket is lightweight, low profile, and WARM as can be. I might be TOO warm in this jacket. The Heat Seal technology combined with the Omni-Heat is no joke. Regardless I am already loving this jacket and can't wait to get some good use out of it this winter. And the purple color is the color of my dreams... an added plus. I fluctuate between M and L and have wide hips so sometimes coats can be hard to predict. I have a M Columbia jacket from last year that fit but was a little snug for my liking. I went for a large in this and I may have been ok with a medium but it might have been to snug as well, especially in the hips. I'm 5'3" and 160 pounds and the large seems to be a decent fit without being too restrictive.

I own the heavenly jacket which is great but not waterproof. I planned a trip to Alaska for late September and needed a jacket. I wanted something similar in size, and function to the heavenly but waterproof. This jacket kept me both warm and dry on the trip. It's not a bulky, but I was still able to layer a cable knit sweater and a shirt with the jacket. I really like the thumb hole cuff, and zippered pockets. I was out in wind and rain. I also used the jacket while in town and also out on a bay. Because it wasn't bulky I was able to move around town without any trouble, and I was able to climb in and out the back of a float plane without feeling like a marshmallow. I am extremely pleased with my purchase and plan to use this jacket as my primary winter jacket.

Love the jacket. Just for reference I'm 5'6" 145 lbs athletic build and the jacket fits great with room to wear a sweater if I wish. I had it on for about 2 minutes and could feel the Omni heat working. Gloves attached to jacket are nice and add to jacket's warmth. Get it you won't be sorry.

This coat fits nicely, love the colors and has very nice deep pockets. It does not have a zipper cover, which I find strange. It is not as warm as my last Columbia coat, that's a bit irritating. I live in a mild wet coastal area that rarely freezes, this coat does not keep me warm on a windy 50 degree day.

Jacket is nice quality, but Omni-heat is not in sleeves. I have another favorite jacket with Omni-heat in the sleeves making it much warmer. Sized up due to active fit, but should have ordered normal size. Returning for a different style.

The coat fits fine otherwise, but when my arms are down to my sides the sleeves almost cover my entire hand, which feels like I'm wearing my husband's coat! I hope it's not super annoying, which could affect my satisfaction while wearing it. It feels like it will be very warm and I love the fitted style, but come on, there's already built-in thumb holes. What are we, children that can't keep track of our mittens!? I'm 5'7" and 150#, this is a size Large coat. (It's probably my ageno, I'm sure it's my age.)

I have looked at numerous brands and this coat is great, especially for the price. It isn't bulky, but it's warm. The dark blue color is really nice too. I wear an xs in a couple of the Columbia rain jackets, and I got a s in this one. I probably could wear an xs, but I like a little extra room for sweaters/sweatshirts. My only minor gripe is that the material is stiff when it's almost fully zipped and I sometimes have to fumble with it so it doesn't hit my chin in a bothersome way.

Great jacket to keep you warm while being active. I would give this five stars but the only slight letdown is that it runs small.

I ordered a XL and I'm glad I did because I noticed Columbia jackets run small. I'm about 5'5 and 160 lbs if this helps anyone with sizing. It fits perfect to me and I even have room to wear a layer underneath which I wanted! It is a little bulky in the front of the jacket when you sit down but that's nothing too major, that's just how this jacket is made i guess. Other than that I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

Shoulders/arm pits are tight. Originally ordered a medium, needed to re-order a small. Previous reviews suggested sizing up, I'd say size normal. Looks very sharp. Warm.

This jacket looked small when I took it out of the wrapping, but when I put it on, I realized it was because it wasn't a bulky type jacket, but a more svelte looking warm layer. I don't know what Columbia did to get that, but I don't feel like the Michelin person when I wear it. I am happy with my purchase.
