Not the Ecco I once knew. What is happening to you, Ecco? I have depended on your shoes for arch support for years and now you are doing what all the others are doing - going cheap on support and construction of your shoes. Had high hopes for these shoes after reading the glowing reviews. Yes, they were a little long, but I was willing to work with that. But...when it came to the arch support that I know and depend upon, it just wasn't there. I compared the insole to an insole I have from another pair of Ecco slip ons, which I purchased 3 years ago. What a difference! The old insoles are thicker, more padded and much more well constructed. Even with my flat, over pronating feet, I never had to put my insoles in these shoes, as they were supportive enough. Not these shoes. They hurt my feet immediately and the insoles were thin and cheap.Bummer. I'm thinking I need to look for a new brand of supportive shoes. I don't mind paying for good shoes, but they have to be backed up with quality!

I like the style and found it nice for a casual chic outfit. I haven't worn the shoes for long walks to confirm if they are comfortable, but I can confirm for short walks they are definitely comfortable. I normally wear ECCO size 38 in sandals and size 39 in shoes, so I initially ordered size 39, but had to change it to 38. There is also an insole that can be removed and make extra room if needed.

Great shoe. Excellent quality. Purchased for an upcoming trip to Ireland and wanted a waterproof shoe. Agree with other reviewer that shoe is a bit long but for me that works. I ordered a 9 and I’m between a 9-9.5 or 40/41, depending on brand, and these shoes are perfect with a little extra room in the toe box. Nice snug fit and feels good on my feet. Very bunion friendly.

I love these shoes - BUT - they were too big. I'm a true 7, and these, although labeled 7 online, were bigger. Even the box said 7-7.5. I decided I wanted to keep them and am using an insole which gives a decent fit. But know that the sizing is not accurate. They do have lots of support and feel like they'll be good walking shoes in the rain, which is what I'm looking for. Goretex is supposed to be waterproof - stay tuned!

Just received these, they arrived a day earlier than expected, thanks Zappos. I think they’ll be a great addition to my ever growing Ecco shoe collection :). The look is casual but nice, the fit is exactly the same as my Ecco Soft 7 leather sneakers, same bottoms, I just wish there was a little more arch support tho it’s good enough. The fig color is much darker than the photo, it almost looks very dark brown rather than merlot colored but the black leather toe cap and heel strip make for a nice contrast and look. Fit is excellent for my bunions and no crowded tootsies. All in all I’m more than pleased and purchased for travel, waterproof gore tex is just another bonus. They’re a nice addition and change from sneakers.

I have slightly wide feet and look for great arch support and comfort in my shoes. I bought these in a 39 for my size 8.5 feet for a trip to Europe and they were absolutely perfect. The Gortex performed beautifully to keep my feet dry and I walked 5-7 miles each day in total comfort using the included insoles. Amazing!

When sandal season is done, and it's wet, but not yet cold enough for boots, these are the perfect solution. I love the simplicity of them, with all black. It's also a treat to find a slip on that has good toe room, and fits my heel without slipping. Definitely, 5-stars!

Why oh why do I keep ordering Ecco? Their shoes are a full size smaller that they say .... I wear a size 12 and I often order size 43 and it always fits, but not Ecco!

I loved the look of this shoe. However, I have a very high arch and instep, and pulling on the shoe was a bit of a struggle. I also felt that I needed more arch support, so I removed the insole that came with the shoe and inserted a power step insole. I think this made the shoe harder to put on.

Bought these shoes for NYC commuting (which means a lot of walking in all sorts of weather) and they have yet to fail me ... comfy, water-resistant and - in black - they look fine with work clothes. Haven’t worn them in a downpour since only boots would work for that sort of challenge, but otherwise, I’m very pleased. Eccos (even in medium) are smartly made European style, created to accommodate feet that are somewhere in between a medium and a wide. The microfiber upper is gentle and forgiving on tired feet and sore joints, and the quality lives up to the Ecco standard: great! Add onto that the fact that Zappos provides excellent service and it’s a win-win situation!

Really wanted to like these. Heel kept slipping and at my age not a good thing. And left toe box too tight. I have a wide toe box area and a narrow heel so that's a big part of the problem. Sadly have to return.

I ordered a pair and wore them all day comfortably without even remembering they were new. I loved them so much that I ordered a second pair which I will keep as a "back up." They may not be the most stylish shoe, but they "go" with everything and keep my feet dry which was the initial reason I ordered them.

These have now been dubbed my most comfortable pair of shoes. After coming down with a knee problem due to too much walking during the pandemic (gym closed), I had to throw away most of my shoes and get orthotic inserts for the rest. I'm left with three pairs of great walking shoes - two Josef Seibel and these. And these are the top. I put a Powerstep pinnacle insert into them and wear them on daily walks of up to five miles, up and down hills and in the rain. After a year, I just bought a second pair in black. They are extremely comfortable in every way, sturdy, supportive, and attractive.

These might just be the most comfortable shoes I've ever had. I generally feel it's most comfortable to rotate shoes but I never want to wear anything other than these.

I needed a pair of waterproof shoes that I could wear with jeans OR a skirt. These are so comfortable that they need no breaking -in period. I normally wear 9/9.5 and ordered a 40 but had to send them back for size 41. I am having an issue with my small toe and need a bit more space at the top of the shoe. These were unusually wide. In fact, when I removed the insert to try out a different one, the words "wide width" were written under the insert! I am waiting for a rainy day to test them out!

These shoes aren't the most stylish but they are extremely comfortable & would be ideal for urban sightseeing days. However, the opening was a tad too small for my foot so I am returning them.

As all Ecco shoes, they fit my wide toe box and narrow heel foot perfectly. Unfortunately, they were not the shoes I was looking for to wear at work every day. If you are a city dweller and walk in all kinds of weather I think they would be great.
