This is the bag I have been searching high and low for! So many brands (Madewell, Cuyana, Everlane, etc.) are making these high-quality Italian leather, minimalist-style north/south totes, but none of them has all the features that I consider critical: (1) top-zip closure (for safety and security); (2) exterior pockets (for easy access to cellphone, work ID, or metro card); (3) a bright-colored interior lining (to find things easily); and (4) sturdy handle straps long enough to go over a bulky winter coat. But this bag has it all! The closest I could find before Patricia Nash came out with the Viana was the Hobo Hero tote, and I thought seriously about purchasing it (returning to the store several times to check it out). But the Hero is much bulkier than the Viana; its patterned lining is too busy; its handle straps are too thin; and on top of that, it's way more expensive! I purchased the Viana on sale at a department store and could not be happier! I look forward to using this tote for many years.

I have enjoyed using the Viana Tote. It's deep so things can get lost in the bottom, but is good when I need to carry extra items with me and only want to carry one purse.

I purchased this as a gift for a friend and I was impressed with the quality.

While I generally prefer east-west totes for everyday use, this north-south tote is my preferred bag any time I want to take my laptop with me. It fits a 15 inch laptop with ease and keeps it protected and from moving around too much inside the bag. The internal and external pockets also provide plenty of storage and organization. And the long strap drop is particularly helpful when carrying something stiff like a laptop, as it allows the bag to still lie comfortably against your side. This bag is a total winner in my opinion.

I had already bought this in the brown and love it for travel. It zips closed and inside a lot of pockets. But first is the shear beauty of the bag. I recommend in all colors! You will use it.

A very beautiful bag, just too big for my stature. Very stiff as well

Stiff like a briefcase or suitcase. Not to my liking, so I returned it. Exceptional quality though.
