This is my second pair. The size is right, but I think the tongue padding isn't as thick as my old pair. I can feel the laces cutting into the top of my foot. My other complaint, I don't recall with my old pair may get better as they get broke in. But the sole doesn't flex as much so I feel the back part wanting to slip off my heel as I walk. Causing me to almost over tighten them.

Great support and the shoe feels stable. As others have mentioned the heel cup is slippery. This can cause the shoe to feel too large, because of foot movement. After a break in of a few miles, and wearing less slick socks, this has improved and the shoe feels right. It would be nice if these were good to go right out of the box, but some stiffer shoes require a break in. I think Lowa could solve this with a collar around the top of the help cup, or an overlay of a different material on top of the gore tex liner.

Long Term Review Update: purchased 06/2019 today 04/2023, still in use as my daily yard/garden sneaks. By far the best ever sneakers or should I say boots. Like my Lowa Laurents these low cut waterproof sneakers are excellent in every manner, will purchase again.

Excellent support and footbed, no problems with heavy pack-load. Above average durability for materials.

Fit great right from the box. I needed hiking shoes that fit, had support, and quality built. These filled the bill completely. I will be back for more.

Fit: fits perfect, like my other 5 pair of Zephyr's. I'm a big fan of these tactical boots, but this pair are the low cut and darker colored boot. I'm very happy with this purchase. V 10/3/2020

Great low top hiking shoe I would have liked to keep but the size 11 was too small in length. I reordered the 11.5 and it slipped in the heal.

I bought these shoes after owning the Zephyr boots. These are the most comfortable waterproof shoes that I have found, and the styling strikes a great balance between sporty and casual. They have great stability and were perfect for walking on a cobblestone street in the rain

I bought this shoe a bit over a year ago, and I remember when I first wore them I was tempted to send them back. But I had good success with a previous Lowa hiking boot, so I decided to keep them. Should have considered the reviews that said the heel slipped, the laces wouldn't stay tied, and it was hard to walk in them. Yes, my heel slipped (cinching the laces as tight as I could, I still could not keep the shoes from slipping at the heel), the laces wouldn't keep tied and had to be square knotted, and and I finally ordered heel pads with the pads placed on the back and the sides of the opening. The shoes are heavy; which for some is a plus, but at my age, I now prefer a less heavy shoe. The one plus is that the soles have withstood over 700 miles of walking on concrete, and except for wear on the heel strike, the soles still have good tread. When you pay good money for a shoe, you try to get your money's worth, even when you aren't that pleased with your decision to keep the shoe. What I don't understand is how Lowa can produce my fantastic first pair of shoes, and then produce this dud. I can say that I have given up on these shoes and am looking for a lighter shoe that fits and ties better.

I'm mixed in a lot of ways about these. But I decided to keep them. I suppose the bad news is where to begin: 1. The price is simply outrageous. 2. I agree with others that mention heel slip prior to break-in; it simply can't be ignored. I also agree with another reviewer that these definitely have/require a break-in period. 3. There is absolutely zero plush to be found inside of these. The good news: 1. These are BOOTS; don't let the sporty/runner exterior fool you; you definitely get that Lowa armored feel. 2. These are deceptively very lightweight and feel very stable; the sensation is that they have a wide sole and a low center of gravity, confidence-inspiring. 3. The styling/color is very unique and I think they look fantastic. 4. The lacing of these is SUPER delicate, and can change the dynamics of the shoe rather dramatically. Getting the lacing just right can greatly temper the aforementioned early heel slip. 5. They appear to be superbly built, and I expect them to last for years. 6. Despite the lack of liner, these are fairly comfortable to walk in right out of the box. Other: If anyone is wondering about the hardness of the material that comprises the 3 arches that surround the outsole (as I was), it is very slightly 'puffy,' but is certainly hard enough to provide support. You will definitely know it is out there surrounding your foot when you tighten up. I figured I'd give these a shot, and kept them when the positives narrowly outweighed the negatives. I did have to move a half size down as I always do with Lowas, as I was swimming in my actual size (and I have a fairly wide foot, ymmv).
