A very odd backpack. There is a front pouch which I can only assume is meant for carrying your shoes, extends into the main compartment of the pack (see 1st pic with my shoes inside) leaving very little room for anything else except at the very top of the main compartment. I wear size 13 and my running shoes fit snugly inside this pouch, I doubt a pair of basketball high-tops in my size would fit. The zipper on this compartment is sticky even when it's empty. The placement of the shoulder straps attaches them to the pack 2-3 inches below the top of the pack which puts a lot of stress on those points (see 2nd pic) all I have in there are my running shoes and two small microfleece throw blankets which are not heavy at all and you can see how unevenly that weight is distributed along this one seam. The overall shape bulges at the top of the shoe compartment then tapers towards the bottom for even less storage space. (see 3rd pic but view it full-size because the square thumbnail here skews the aspect ratio and makes it look thicker than it really is). There is a compartment behind the main one for storing your laptop or tablet, seems fairly well padded but the tapering towards the bottom limits the space available and makes me worried about my device getting squeezed inside. I'm not really sure what use this pack was intended for other than an elaborate way to carry around a pair of shoes. I definitely would not buy it for a school backpack because of the limited size of the main compartment and the poorly placed shoulder straps which will eventually tear if you're carrying heavy books inside.
