I needed a comfortable leather upper shoe to tolerate the cold outside and function as a tennis shoe. This does both.

I have worn NB for years as they are the only soft shoe maker that has sizes and widths. The shoe being reviewed is suitable, but I wish the cushion sole was a bit thicker and less lumpy, and that the laces were thicker / more durable. The laces also didn't need to be as long as they are. Otherwise, a nice shoe and I might buy it again. I have had favorite shoes over the years and wish those were still made, but I guess companies need to keep changing to keep the public's interest. Sometimes good, often just redesigning for the sake of redesigning. I like the philosophy of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." That said, I do understand economics and fickle customers. I also have to be careful about fit since each last for each style of shoe seems to be different. I used to wear a 12 4E. Now I need to wear a 13 4E as most of the NB shoes have changed length wise. Widths differ from shoe to shoe as well. So, I sometimes need to return shoes for fit.

I will see how it goes after more wearings. I wore them for a walk for the first time today, and they weren't as comfortable as I had hoped. Maybe that will improve with time.

The right shoe is fine. The left shoe feels uncomfortable in regards to the left heel.
I would like to wear some more and see if the material breaks in and feels more comfortable.

They were a disappointment, throwback styling with little arch support. Maybe I’ve been spoiled by 990 v5.

Disappointing on the size 13 not true to size for this pair. I thought I would try the 608's because I cannot get my size in the USA made 990's which are double the price. I will continue to search for the 990's in my size for they help my foot issues.
This particular pair of 608's the right shoe pinches the outside of my last three toes which cause numbness. Make's me think this is a factory flaw. The middle toe touched the inside tip of the shoe which make me think this pair runs more size 12.5.

I don't think that new balance will make the model as it used to. the old model had more cushion around the ankle and more cushion in the sole. But, it is still worth wearing
