Customer Reviews New Balance Kids 990v5 Launch (Big Kid)

We have been buying our disabled son the 990 since he could walk, at the recommendation of his PT. Every year we buy the same shoe because it's the only one we can find that gives him both the heel cup and arch support he needs. This year he moved into size 5, and you stop offering the hook and loop at this size, so we had to switch to laces. Now my son who had finally learned to be independent putting on his shoes is reliant on our help yet again. He won't be able to tie laces so I am very sad over his loss of independence and wish you would continue to offer hook and loop on big kid and adult 990s. We tried stretch laces and it's still too hard for him. Very sad.

Run very small fits like a 3 1/2 would not buy again

These shoes are not comfortable they hurt so bad especially if u have plantar fasciitis. DONT BUY PLEASE!

The shoes were listed as wide but were not wide enough. Unfortunately, there were none available in an extra wide or in a larger side.

I bought these sneakers because I read reviews that the V5990 were good for foot pain. I tried on a mens pair in Footlocker but the 7 1/2 were too big so I decided to get a Youth size 7. It was a perfect fit but, it felt very flat. It has no support whatsoever compared to the men's version. I also noticed (after the fact) that the men's v5 say 'ortholite ' in it which the Youth size doesn't. I think that the youth sizes v5 are not made as well as the Men's and that's not fair since a lot of adults have small feet and suffer from foot issues. Do not buy (youth sizes) if you're looking for supportive, comfortable sneakers.

Supposed to be a wide width. Not wide. Only some styles of wide width NB shoes are actually wide. I guarantee that if you compared the wide width shoe to a regular width shoe, it would be the same shoe. Aggravating.

I was so disappointed when I received these they run so dang small! I need at least a half size up which I NEVER have to do. I am not in between sizes whatsoever so it's so weird that I would need a 5.5 when I am a true 5 in boys with ALL of my sneakers

Overall really great shoe. However, I ordered a size 7 in kids thinking it would run small because 1 it's kids and 2 kids shoes normally run small. NO! Shoe has soooo much space. I'm kind of upset I had to return, but will be repurchasing for a smaller size.
