My son hates tying his shoes so I got him the hook and loop. He enjoys these shoes alot especially since they match daddy's shoes. I kind of wish they made the hook and look for adults.

I liked these shoes but unfortunately they were too big for my son. They seem to run about 1/2 size big

I bought these shoes for my 5 year old nephew. He severely overpronates. He likes them and no longer says that his ankles hurt. Thus, so far, so good. I do wish that a shoe with even more motion control was available for young kids; adults aren't the only ones who overpronate.

The 888v2 is the only shoe (and trust me, we have tried them all!) that will (barely) fit over my son's AFOs . But you have to take the removable insole out. I think I can speak for MANY parents that it would be great if New Balance would take the lead on a legit AFO-friendly shoe design. Namely a higher instep, longer velcro straps, thin insole that you don't have to remove, and tough construction (we have to replace these every two months due to wear and tear). Many companies, which I will not name here, claim to have AFO-friendly shoes and they 100% are not -- sizing up 2 sizes to fit over an AFO does not count!! Would love to chat New Balance!! This 990 is much more narrow than the 888v2

These are well made shoes but getting some that fit my son's extra extra wide feet is so frustrating. I WISH they just made an extra extra wide shoe size because to get the width we need we have to go up a whole size, but then the shoe is too long and it slips off his heels when he walks. Please either make an extra extra wide size option or make just the toe box extra wide and not the heel so that those of us who have to size up to get the proper width don't have shoes falling off the back. These will have to go back. I don't know how to find him shoes that are wide enough but won't fall off the back!

These shoes are really nice, but they are not a good fit for my seven year old's foot. We are going to try another style.

The sole came apart within a couple of days. My daughter didn't do anything special while wearing.

I ordered 10.5 mens size and I received 10.5 childs size. I returned the items over one week ago, I haven't heard from new balance and the monies have not been credited to my account. I have been trying to contact new balance with no success.

Had to buy another pair because the previous one started to fall apart in 3 months. No response from customer service.
