I've been wearing the Irish Setter Ramsey for several years; I've had 5-6 pairs of the original Ramsey. This Ramsey 2.0 is quite a bit different. The original model was comfortable right out of the box and didn't require much, if any, break-in; this 2.0 model is stiff, much less attractive, and not nearly as comfortable out of the box. I had to return my first pair of this new model to go up to a wide width; this is something I've never had to do before. Furthermore, the wide width still fits tighter than the medium width did from my old boots. If you normally purchase a EE fit, you'll most likely need to also go up a half size. For the appearance, the abrasion resistant coating on the lower area of the leather gives the leather a cheap, faux leather look and feel; many customers have stated this isn't real leather. While it is just a coating over the genuine leather which is supposed to make the leather last much longer, the look and feel is definitely reminiscent of faux leather. If you're using these as work boots, this isn't really a problem but, if this is to be casual footwear, the appearance is not as attractive as the previous generation. In my opinion, for my work, the soles wear significantly faster than the leather so, this is not an upgrade, or a valuable feature.

Solid built boot with a durable sole and good traction. Looks good too, it's pretty traditional with just a touch of modernness. I wish it had a slightly more supportive arch, that's the only issue I have feedback on. But I have only experienced that kind of arch support on boots 2x more expensive, so I am definitely happy with what I got for the price.
I'd also recommend:

Tried to replace the old pair of the Irish Setter. These ones are made of non-leather material. You should explicitly state in the description you have changed it to Armatec XT non-leather.

I was expecting a good leather shoe. What I got was a boot with some kind of fake leather. If it not a leather shoe it shouldn't say leather in the description .

I bought these boots about 6 months ago and the soles are just falling apart. The upper leather part looks brand new! I havent worked this pair very hard at all! Look elsewhere for a good pair of boots as other reviewers have mentioned the same thing.

Great boots. Love them. Only about 4 months in though. My only complaint, the left boot started squeaking right at the pad of my foot. Out at the job, it's not terrible because you don't hear it, but I am starting to notice the slight vibration in my foot now. Also, when writing up plans, as builts, or anything else in the office, very annoying! Hoping the vibration doesn't get worse she the squeaking eventually stops. Comfort wise, they are great!

I had purchased a completely different model number that is no longer available; over the last three years. In that model a 10.5 EE was a prefect fit. This model number appeared to be with in the series of my last pair. Unfortunately, these were too narrow and over all very tight all along the box to toe. I have loved Irish setter boots for years. I guess I will keep looking for a proper fitting pair.
