In the past I have always ordered this shoe in an 8.5, it felt too big in the heel, but not a half size too big-my big toe was in the correct place at the front of the shoe. Asics are the shoe that works best for my feet, so this is my 6th pair of this brand. In the first month they felt fine, a little loose in the heel, month 2 the fabric where you put your foot in started to fray, now month 3 the heel portion has "stretched" or what one might call it from being loose, my heel moves up and down when I walk. Really disappointed in this shoe. I'll keep trying Asics, but don't recommend this version of their shoe.

I have bought three pairs of these Asics Gel-7 shoes for my pre-teen daughter. The first pair barely got worn (estimated 4 months) before she outgtew them. The second pair (originally bought for me but were too small), she wore about twice a week since the beginning of school. I ordered another pair for her to use in gym class at school. This pink and black third pair she has worn nearly every day for five full months. Size, fit, and comfort were spot-on and thess were great shoes until they started coming apart at the seams, soles, and the material has started to shread. I've not seem a pair of shoes fall apart so terribly and fast before. I've bought Asics brand shoes for over a decade and never experienced this level of disgust in their product. The grey/ice blue pair (bought second and worn twice a week or so indoors when her class gets to have gym) has busted threads on the toe and the mesh material is ripping apart. The pink/black daily wear pair has the toes exposed because the top has completely come undone and the soles are detaching. I've never seen a pair of shoes disengage like this, and I've raised an active boy into adulthood! Parents and anyone who actually uses their tennis/running shoes should take a pass on these! If buying for the kid, know you will end up replacing them before the school year ends. Pics are provided to show extreme wear in short-term both for light wear and daily wear.

These shoes lasted about 2 hikes. My last hike which was 7 miles, the toe separated from shoe. Trying to fix it now. As you can tell from the tread... hardly used!

This shoe did not feel like a wide. I normally wear a 9.5wide and wanted extra room however the shoe was too small .

I ordered these exactly 12 months ago, in black. I just re-ordered from my order history because I liked the fit and style I just needed a new pair. I noticed that the grey color was cheaper so I ordered it and didn’t think anything about it, or read the reviews. When I got them my feet barely fit!! I was reviewing the reviews and saw how many said that the Venture-7 was more narrow and had a smaller toe box than the Venture-6. Apparently I ordered the 6 last time. These shoes are well made and look great. I ordered a different ASICS shoe in men’s sizes to avoid this problem again.

When I purchased these in June they were fantastic! Their comfort and cushion and support were great. However, after only three months of a one hour hike each day they lost all cushion and support. The fabric is close to ripping. I would expect them to last longer than that. I don’t think Zappos should have to be responsible for that. I think the manufacturer should. Very disappointed. The grip/traction is still decent and was great at the beginning.

These look like the same shoe I always wear. I've owned at least 6 pairs. But these didn't fit well, and after a week of wear, I realized I was having ingrown toenail problems on both big toes. STILL trying to get those straightened out (no pun intended). I've noticed a slight decline in the quality of the shoe over the past 4 years...design changes that weren't really helpful, like removing the "tab" from the front of the shoe. My last pair wore through at the heel much faster than previous ones, two of which I still wear for yardwork. No more Asics for me. I've gotten a couple pairs of Vionics in the last two years, and I'm going to try their sneakers.

Laces made of cheap fabric, broke 3rd time I tied them!!!

My normal size in this shoe is 7. This time, left shoe was too short and really bruised my big toe! I would have returned them, but I didn't wear them for almost 4 months. (I tend to buy before I need!) Never had this happen!

Only lasted 3 months. Sole separated. Fabric top wore through. Previous ASICS lasted several years.

I have always worn a 9 1/2 in this style. they are too short in the toe area will try a 10.

Wrong in all possible ways. Toe box too narrow. Heel too wide. A lot bigger than the 8 I ordered. No support. Stiff soles. No spring in the soles. Generally disastrous.

Gave me a blister on right bunion.

I own other Asics in 8M so I figured these would fit the same. The length was almost a full size smaller than my other Asics. Odd. Unfortunately these are going back.

Caution: the tabs that hold the shoelaces in place in the middle of the foot POPPED off easily, breaking free and making it impossible to thread the shoelace. Because there were no eyelets, once the tabs broke (mid-hike) there was no way to tie the shoes.

This shoe had so much room in the heal. On my first outing I couldn’t even run because my foot kept slipping out. There isn’t any arch support.. so my flat feet were hurting.

I don't know what has happened to Asics brand. They used to be really comfortable. I have 2 pair that I refuse to get rid of because they have holes in the toes. However, all the new ones I buy never have any cushion and are hard as a rock. It is really terrible that shoe companies continually change what is not broken.
