I am a regular walker and have been a fan of New Balance for years. I under pronate and have had plantar fasciitis so I appreciate the stability and arch support of NB. But, NB shoes seem to be in short supply so I went with this Asics Gel Venture. I loved the style and colors - and that’s all. The shoes have little support in the arch or heel and little padding on the heel cuff. I was breaking them in with 2 mile walks and after the second walk, I developed a dime size blister on the back of my heel. That has never happened with NB! I am frustrated with all these brands that seem to be using cheaper materials and provide little support. Thank goodness for Zappos great customer service! The ASICS are on their way back and I continue my search for a supportive, stylish, well-made walking/running shoe. Is that too much to ask?

They are good looking shoes, but I did not feel they had enough support for running. They fit and felt like casual shoes that look like running shoes, but aren't really for running. Stiff, minimal arch support, and the insole is not removable (so I can't even make them more supportive with my own insoles). I was looking for shoes for occasional trail runs and light hikes, but these won't do it. As far as size, I felt that they fit true to size and width.

GEL-Venture 7 fit fine and are comfortable. I have a narrow foot - they're pretty adjustable. They would score MUCH better if they weren't so HOT. I don't know how other brands do it - different materials or what. I thought it was my imagination but then I noticed other people comment about it as well.

The information on the website didn't say these run small but they clearly do. I always take a 6.5 or 7. I ordered a 7 and my toes are cramped. Have to send them back, sigh. Also, as some others noted, the arch support is minimal.

I really liked the comfort of the shoe but my toes hit right at the top of the shoe and I was afraid overtime that would be uncomfortable.

I buy ASICS because of the arch support as I have a high arch. Not sure why but it seems ASICS has lowered the standard in this area. Therefore I needed to buy inserts that gave me the support I need. I’m disappointed

Didn't care much for this shoe. It felt roomy inside the shoe with little support all around. The style is ok but its not for me. Returned it.

The fit overall is good. However the strings tied over caused more constriction over the instep when walking. Strings laced under provides more flexibility when bending the feet while walking.

THese are not black/silver sneakers! The primary color is deep purple navy blue. Big disappointment not realized until I wore them outside, after throwing the box away.

While overall I like this brand, it did not feel the same or as comfortable as other makes of this shoe.

I like the shoes, they fit ok for a 10 wide supinator. Asics needs to come up with something cute or feminine. The one complaint I have is -the laces. They are like tying string. They cut into my fingers when pulling tight and I must use my nails to loosen them. Will definitely need to be replaced.

These were not as wide as I need. They were heavier than I wanted.

I ordered this style of Asics because I have a pair that I love that fits perfectly. Mine are a couple of years old. This pair, even though I ordered a wide, are tight at the wide part of my foot, significantly narrower than my old pair. They are also much heavier in weight than my previous pair. They are not comfortable to I had to return them.

great sneaker though you may want to get them a half size bigger!

I have owned dozens of pairs of ASICS running shoes over the years. These do not have removable insoles nor do the insoles have the arch support that usually is in ASICS athletic shoes. They were cushioned, but had a fairly flat insole. I could get around that with separate orthotic insoles, but the ones in the shoes were glued in and didn't come out.

Narrow in the toe box. Had to make the return because of the narrow toe box.

Loved the look and quality of shoe. However, it was not a truly wide width shoe. The toe box was smaller than expected.

I was super excited about these shoes based on the all the 4 and 5 star ratings for comfort. I used my custom orthotics to try them on, so I cannot tell you about the comfort of the insole. However, there was a significant lack of cushioning in the shoe. I felt like the ball of the foot was very thin, and I could feel every anomaly on the ground. They felt a bit tight in the toebox, as well.

If you have a truly wide foot then these shoes are not wide. With my usual blister resist socks these shoes were super tight. Unfortunate because I really liked the color.

These sneakers had so much potential. I have worn ASICS before but these seem to require much break-in time. The toes come to a point even though they are wide width so toes were very squeezed. Also, monarch support so my ankles tended to roll in. Disappointing.

They are nice looking on the outside. Not a comfortable shoe. Felt stiff. Definitely returning.

These fit fine, but really irritated my plantar fasciitis. They feel very hard and seemed to hold my feet away a word angle. I can't wear them. :(

I've had multiple pairs in this same Venture line and they fit perfectly. Now the toe box is a lot narrower and somewhat pointed, which might look a little more sleek, but doesn't work for my feet. Also, they felt a little lighter, and less supportive in the arch. I sadly returned them. Too bad. A great looking shoe and very comfortable previously.
