These are similar to the Mephisto Elka that was (unfortunately) discontinued a few years ago. The Terie is a higher platform, but the footbed is like walking on marshmallows with arch support. I love them!

I usually wear a 39 in Mephisto, and LOVED Elka, which was discontinued, so I thought that Terie was a sure bet. The 39 was too small, and the 40 was a bit too large, mostly in the front of the shoe (the arch seems really far back). I tried and tried to convince myself that these would fit and be good to walk around in, but I am reluctantly returning therm. I wish Mephisto was more consistent in their sizing - it seems when they add height to the style, the footbed gets shorter and narrower than their lower heeled models. I'm sad to return them

I was a faithful Elka buyer for years, and was sorry when they were discontinued, so I was happy to see the Elka styling on a higher wedge. The problem is that they run a full size smaller than Mephistos non wedge shoes, and are also narrower. I have had this problem with other Mephisto wedges, and I wish they would solve this. The arch also feels not in the right place as their lower shoes.

Very disappointed with the leather it is very stiff.I have been wearing for over twenty years and there is a big difference. The material is inferior compare to all my others. Something has changed.Tjhe Elka was my favorite shoes and very disappointed.I bought Elka in every color and never took off my feet.

I wanted to enjoy this shoe so bad! I have worn Mephisto for 20 years and need badly to replace my previous shoes which were this style but all leather and 1/2 inch lower heel. I don't know why Mephisto discontinued the style I wear for a higher heel! This shoe felt wrong, too short, very little arch support and just not comfortable like the ones I currently have, so have to return it. Switching to Naot style as Mephisto no longer have anything to meet my needs.

Super comfortable! I love the style, shape, pretty much everything! I am a size 7 and bought the 37. I like my feet to be right at the edge with no extra space in sandals and 37 is exactly right for me. It you like extra space, size up. I tried on the next size bigger and it worked too, just had a little extra room beyond my toes and at the back of my heels. So I’d say sizing really depends on your preference with fit. Beautiful sandals, I can’t recommend them highly enough!

Amazingly comfortable! I consistently wear a size 9 1/2, but after reading the reviews and others stating that they run small I ordered a 10 1/2. The were actually too small. I ended up ordering a size 11 and it's a perfect fit. The material is high quality and the heel height is perfect.

This is a beautiful and comfortable sandal. The snakeskin trend is on point. Fit is truly to size. Width is true to size. The reason I returned it is because the edges of the leather were very stiff and abrasive although I feel it would soften with use. As I work in retail and am walking around the store for 8 hours, I didn't want to deal with the break in period.

A while back I bought the most awesome shoes from Mephisto, I absolutely loved them, didn't get to wear them to long, our new puppy loved them too, as a chew toy. They were built for my foot, perfect arch, the wedge was perfect o walk in all day shopping, I was in heaven. Well as things go, I just now feel like I could spend the money for a pair to replace what I had. I bought the Terie, couldn't wait to get them and the shoe fits, but the arch is in the wrong place, if the arch is right my toes are getting rubbed by the upper leather, a bit stiff. Will have to go to the store and see just what fits my foot now, I so want that great perfect shoe again. These, unfortunately, are going back. Thank you Zappos for making this so easy.

Great sandals. Good support! But have to return b/c strap at top of sandal rubs my mother’s ankle. She has surgery there and ankle area tends to swell.

I ordered these shoes in the red color, thinking they would be cute with a black dress. They were comfortable enough but just didn't fit right: If I adjusted the straps to be comfortable, my heel was at the very back of the shoe and my toes were almost one inch back from the front of the shoe. I do have short toes and wider feet, so maybe they work better if you have long toes and narrow feet. I might have tried a larger size, since other customers say they needed to, but I realized that I usually wear pink nail polish in the summer and it clashes with these shoes, which are an orangey red. Thank you, Zappos, for the easy return.

This shoe is awesome. Mephisto is an expensive shoe but so worth the money. I read reviews here and on other sites and took the chance that it would be comfort. So happy with my purchase. Last Mephisto shoes I wore all over Europe (for 15 days and lots and lots of walking).

Happy they have gone back to the prior styling as I have worn a variation of this shoe for many years. Unhappy that they have both raised the platform and increased the wedge which increases the angle that the foot sits in this shoe. Keeping the shoes only because my prior ones are worn to bits and sometimes I need a nicer looking shoe.

Disclaimer - I have high arches and must find shoes with appropriate support so my plantar fasciitis doesn't return. The reviews had 61% said "moderate support" so I figured I'd give them a try. As far as I'm concerned, these have little to no arch support. Issue #2 is the description of the color. I ordered "multicolored pompei". The Zappos photo makes the shoes look like the pattern is 90% black/silver with a little bit of blue. Upon arrival, these truly are "multicolored". For $195, these were a big disappointment and are going back asap.

I generally wear 10.5 in Mephistos, but these did not come in 10.5 so I tried the 11. The length is fine, though they are a tad too loose, but I think I could have fixed that by adjusting the buckles. However, the toe bump is too far forward and hit in a weird place for me, making them very uncomfortable.

These are amazing! I have large bunions, and these fit perfectly, covering up the bunions very nicely while still looking cute and fashionable. It's not easy to find comfortable and cute shoes for feet with bunions, and these fit those requirements without looking like they are "comfort" shoes. Love. These.

I love this shoe, and am willing to put up with the lack of meaningful arch support. The design contains my bunions and also has a very comfortable, stylish wedge/heel height. So cute.

These are very comfortable sandals. They run a full size smaller so I recommend sizing up for the best fit. The material is very soft & comfortable! You can wear them straight out of the box! I bought the red for a pop of color! They are unique! I feel like I'm walking on clouds! I recommend them to anyone that want a very comfortable & casual sandal that's not a flat & not a high wedge. Those with tired achy feet, these are the trendy sandals for you! Thanks Zappos!

I am a pretty regular 7.5 M and I ordered the 38. It fits but is only just long enough. I probably could have sized up and it would have given me some extra room. Still, OMG such a comfortable sandal, I couldn’t send back. No break-in needed whatsoever. Also, a very quiet shoe. No sound at all as you walk. I’m new to Mephisto and I am sold.

loved the shoes, but I'm big foot. will try the next size up, hope it fits because it's the biggest size available :-(

Just doesn’t stay on my foot. It’s because of my very High instep - they just don’t stay on even after adjusting straps. But such a nice shoes and so comfy (as long as I don’t walk). Bummer. Back they go.

This style is SO comfortable right out of the box. Unfortunately the color I purchased as pictured on the web site is Navy Pitone (that's the photo) but what I received was multicolored Pompei, so the web site is incorrect. Sadly, I am returning them and buying another style in color Navy Pitone.

I really NEEDED to love these shoes. I tried. Arch support was very good. Shoes were a tiny bit shorter than they should have been and, even though the straps are adjustable, they are just too narrow in the toe box. The way the shoes are cut, just a tad too narrow on the base, means you really cannot compensate for the width by adjusting the buckles. Honestly, they were kind of matronly looking on the feet but I would have lived with that if they had been comfortable. They were totally comfortable for about 2 hours. I have blisters on the tops of my toes from the the leather straps after only that small time walking around the house.

I always wear a 38 in Mephistos. The arch support is actually farther back than it should be in this one. I have a whole shoe size in front of my toes if I slide by heel back to fit the arch, which feels nice when I finally lined up my foot right. I am not sure a 37 would be right so I might pass on this one all together. Not sure, but this one is definitely going back.
