Customer Reviews New Balance Made in US 990v5

I could not wear the 990v4, but the 990v5 feels wonderful and fits perfectly! I need a roomy toe box to insert my orthotic so I ordered a half size up. Perfect fit and my toes have plenty of room. The 990 version 4 toe box was too tight on top and too narrow. New Balance has fixed that with Version 5. I have lots of foot problems -- plantar fasciitis, achilles tendonitis, achilles spur, top of foot arthritis -- and I've tried every New Balance and Brooks shoe recommended for these issues. The 990 is the only shoe that works for me. Great support AND comfort. Hard to find both in one pair of shoes, but these have it. They are also very nice looking -- trendy, stylish and classic good looks. I got the Navy and the Gray. They go with everything. I'm thinking about getting an extra pair to wear just in the house. I can't go barefoot ever with my foot problems so I'm in sneakers 24/7 except to sleep. These feel like slippers, like my feet are cushioned in pillows, while at the same time relieving all pain from the bottom of my feet. Hard to find a supportive, comfortable shoe that looks good too. This is it. I couldn't be happier. Thanks to NB for listening to it's customers and making a more roomy toe box in the 990v5.

I love these shoes because my feet feel very protected in them. I use them for walking around the city, to and from work and on the subway. They feel sturdy and are made really well, not like every other cheap pair of sneakers. These are well worth the price.
