I use this shoe as an all around casual walking shoe, hiking on trails, as well as working out in the gym. It's a great shoe and I was sorry when the price went up significantly and am looking for an alternative option. I really appreciate that it comes in various wide widths and look to New Balance first to meet my needs for a wide shoe.

This shoe is used primarily for walking and casual use. It is pretty stiff to start off, but hopefully, as with other New Balanced shoes, will get a lot more comfortable.

Great Product!! Love the SUPPORT of the sneaker. Unfortunately I had to replace for issue.

The shoe overall is good. The sole is a little thin but ok. There needs to be more color schemes for this shoe that are available for 6E wide.

Wore 928s for many years but physical therapist suggested running shoe for walking and this one is much better for me -- gives a real spring in my step. Not as much cushioning so I use a gel insert. Note for all NB you generally need 1/2 size larger than your shoe size.

The shoe's inserts caused an imbalance to my knees. After removing the inserts all is well; although it costs you one star

Finally found a shoe that works for me. Gave it 4 stars because it's a little heavy.

I feel this shoe is wider than the shoe it replaced. Nice shoe but loose on my feet. If I tie the laces tight, it creates a seam just to the right of the tag inside the tongue that is uncomfortable.

Would prefer them to arrive laced and ready to wear. Lacing shoes is an art that I'm not skilled at, mine end up twisted and don't look good.

I have purchased many pairs of New Balance shoes, spending lots of time on my feet over the years. Used to buy the ones made overseas, but the quality became worse as time went by, having to repair them more often on my own. Then I began to buy the more expensive "made in USA" ones recently, and they seem to be holding up quite well. Only downside for me is I wish they had a bit more arch support, like the old days!

When I bought it I thought I was going to get 20% off because the banner ad said 20% off guess what there were exceptions.

I'm using the shoe for general walking, exercising and work at the office. I was surprised by how much narrower they were than other new balance shoes. I had to move into a D width shoe Which is still a little tight on the left foot. Shoe appears well built and had room for orthotics.

Shoes looks great. I have worn about 25 pairs of 990v4's and this was my first 990v5 and the heel slips and feels slightly smaller than the 990v4. I still have about 3 more new pairs of the 990v4 so I returned the shoes and will deal with this down the road a bit. Maybe with some more break in they would fit better but just disappointed.

Not much more to say. It's nice to be able to get the width I need. They walk comfortably with my orthotics

Solid shoe with good support that helps stability control. The support does add to weight . The tread wear is very good but I've experienced a problem with the mesh wearing out in spots

The 990v5 is a shoe that I wear daily as my daily walkers. Strong, comfortable and well made, this shoe is exactly what I was looking for and they have not disappointed after months of daily use.

I like the wide fit and the length was good, after sending it back for a longer shoe. I don't like the material directly over my toes. My wife doesn't like the look of it, which is important because I plan to use these shoes with my jeans all the time. The order, and return, and second order were perfect. I didn't like it that NB advertised a 20% discount in an online message, but when I went to pay, there was no discount. The next time I will have to go to my local shoe store and compare prices and shoes. And why do I have to enter my email address when you have asked me to sign-in when making a comment?
