Probably the Best Sneaker/Shoe out there today in my opinion. Really no cons at all. Great shoe to make a dash in if your about to get caught cheating on your woman unscathed.

Needed a shoe for summertime exercise walking, plenty of support but also lightweight. Wanted a good casual appearance with clothes, not bright white but light color neutral. Glad to know shoes of this quality made in USA, very satisfied with this choice and think they are sturdy enough for intended use and will last well.

I have been wearing New Balance for over 25 years. The great fit, appearance and durability never disappoints. And they are made in the US!

My husband needed new sneakers, as his old ones were worn out. So, I got online and got him the 990v5. I thought they were a bit expensive, but he's worth the cost. New sneakers arrived, he put them on, we went for a walk...4 miles later he says to me, "These are the best sneakers I've ever had. Just put them on and go. Comfortable, great fit, no breaking in!" Every time we love something, when we decide to get it again the item is either out of stock or outdated. So, guess what, Hubby is set for a long time as we ordered and received 3 more pairs of the 990v5 sneakers. He love, Love, LOVES this sneaker.

Great American made Craftsmanship. High quality shoe that lasts a long time. I use it as a walking shoe, and then when I get a new pair I use the old pair as running shoes. Buy American!

This is my 4th pair of the 990s. My first pair was recommended by my podiatrist because of a painful bunion. Along with the shoes, I got the orthotic insoles. What a difference!! My feet feel great .. no pain from the bunion at all. I get a new pair every year and consign the previous years' pair as a 'work' shoe.

I am retired so I don't need to dress up for work any longer. I have 5 different pairs (2 v5, 1v4 and 2 v3). I use 2 pair for long walks (4 to 8 miles). The others are for everyday wear and for the gym.

I normally do not purchase shoes online to ensure they fit correctly, but I own a 990v4 and the 990v5 fits just the same and comfortable.

Great feel and true to size! Third pair of this model ! I am hoping the mesh holds up on the top of the sneakers!

I use for a 45 minute disruptive workout daily. Elliptical, treadmill, resistance and light weights. Perfect shoe for me!

I just bought these sneakers at the New Balance store in Avon, CT. They are absolutely wonderful. I am flatfooted and these shoes are incredibly comfortable. I am very happy that they are made in the USA and that New Balance supports American Manufacturing. It matters. I am planning to buy additional pairs of the 900 series sneakers in different colors (997?) very soon.

Great comfortable fit. My feet love these and being made in America is even better.

This is my fourth pair of 990, and I am sure in a year or so, I will buy a fifth. Throughout my life, I have had trouble finding comfortable shoes. I wish I would have tried New Balance earlier in life. I currently have four pairs of useable New Balance shoes--New Balance is the go-to brand for me. The 990s are my favorite. Jim O.

Shoes look great and can take a beating. Super easy to clean to keep up the appearance even after getting dirty/muddy.

I'm 78 and run 2 or 3 miles 4 or 5 times a week. This is my third pair, the last being the V4 which served me well other than my big toenail wore through a bit on one shoe. I used to buy shoes that had more leather where the toe hits but the NB fit is very comfortable with the inserts so retail not being open, I gambled online with the V5 without trying it on. The size is on the inside of the tongue and it had pretty well worn off but I called in and got the size and width on the last one with ease. I guess I'll just have to cut my toenails more often

My questions were answered in a very timely manner about the model number change. I have bought these tennis shoes for the past 10 years because they fit well and do not hurt my feet. They are very durable. I use them first out in public, then working around the house and farm, and then on my tread mill.
