These were a bday present for my husband; he absolutely loved them! I was a little hesitant about purchasing these shoes online because he's really picky when it comes to running shoes but they worked out wonderfully for him! They fit true to size!

I have 5 pairs of these. I rotate and revere them all. They are almost a bespoke item with regards to fit. I am prepared for anything when I am wearing a pair of my 990's. Nothing compares in my opinion. One criticism, the laces could be 4" longer because I like a hockey skate tie. Im no lightweight and these puppies support the ankle and have just the right amount cushion when the heel lands. Any serious wardrobe should have a pair. You can even dress up the all-black with dark jeans and a blazer for a night out.

I love my US made New Balance shoes. The only disappointing aspect is that there are few options that are made in the USA. I would love to see more.

I walk and hike a lot. These are the most comfortable shoes I've found. They're men's and I'm a woman, but I find they fit my feet much better. They're worth the cost because nothing's more important than comfortable shoes and shoes that will protect your feet and keep you walking for a long time.

They are almost deceivingly comfortable. I walk about 3 mile a day and my feet feel as though I had only walked across the street. I'll definitely be staying with these sneakers. They're great!!!

Really appreciate the Made In USA. You can't find 14 2A size in the imports. I have been buying them for years. I do like to support local stores, but they were out of stock.

I walk for exercise every day. Basically I wear the shoes all day. They have worked out great. I was buying 1540V2 for years but the change to V3 didn't suit my feet. Price remains the only drawback to the 990.

Great work shoe. I work on concrete daily and this shoe supports my foot and keeps me on the go without my feet hurting.

Great running shoe. I bought these shoes throughout my 6 years in the Army. These shoes are made tough and can endure long miles.

I like the structure of the shoe. It is too heavy for speed running, but my speed days are behind me. I think it is overpriced but the structure is worth it.

I use these for everyday wear and walking. Great comfort, great support, and very well made. I don't believe there is another shoe, of this type, in its class. Yes, this is an expensive shoe, and I'm not going to argue it's worth it. But, if you want the best, here it is.

I am in my late 50's, 6'2", 225 lbs. I have a repaired ACL injury and a permanent Meniscus injury to my right knee, as well as joint injuries on both feet. I am very satisfied with the performance of this walking shoe. They allow me to walk my three mile route route rapidly and comfortably several times a week.

I wear these shoes for nearly all occasions. The light color, the fit, the quality, and the fact that they're made in the USA are all considerations that have kept me buying this same 990 series for well over 20 years.

Everyday casual use. I am 76 y/o and my shoe size is 11-1/2 4E.

Very comfortable, provides good support. On my third pair.

I get about 6-8 months of wear, which is around 750 miles of walking then I need new shoes to keep my knees from hurting. I try to buy the same NB shoe model, but sometimes it is discontinued. But I usually find a reference on their web site to refer me to something similar

Comfortable, heavier running shoes. Heals stopped hurting when I switched to these.

These are great walking shoes and great for everyday casual wear.

I have had several pairs of New Balance narrow shoes and have been pleased with the fit, the comfort, and the appearance of them. Two pairs ago my shoes were bought at a New Balance store in Missouri but when I came back the following year they were no longer carried and I had to order them. However, the 990 is the only athletic shoe that I would consider buying.

Foot doctor recommended these shoes and I cannot thank them enough, stylish enough to pull off for work shoes. No other shoes for me moving forward. I bought my wife a pair a week after wearing mine.

In the past we always purchased the best value shoe from big box stores. Once I purchased my shoes for a foot problem, I had to share the experience with my wife.

The 990V5 is my everyday shoe. I have worn them since the original version. I went to the local New Balance store looking for a shoe that would give me the support I needed and after a conversation with shoe expert Tom, it was determined that the 990 was going to give me the best support. I am well pleased with them and have had many pairs since then. I wear a 10.5 D and every pair runs true to size with no break in period. I just put them on and go. I will continue to buy them.

I am VERY happy with my purchase. These are the most comfortable walking shoes that i have ever worn! Thank you.

The new shoes that I got are what I wanted to wear for nice casual wear. I have been very happy with the various 990v4 shoes that I have purchased previously.
