I don't know why I thought my average-sized calves would be the exception to every review I read about the tight fit, but they weren't. It's a shame, because the boots are really cute but just not comfortable around the calf area if you have any sort of muscle. I found that the top half of the boot was too tight, making the ankle area loose and bulky. I'm 5'4, so maybe if I were a few inches taller they'd fit better. My quest for the perfect-fitting Hunter rain boot continues ...

Unfortunately these were just too tall for me. They came up behind my knees and I couldn't bend my knees enough to get off the ground once I had them on. They are probably amazing rain boots if you're taller and I will try the short version.

First wear was rough and getting them off was even worse. But as the rubber relaxes, they are great. I wonder if I should get the shorter ones though as the shaft hits my calf in an awkward spot when I sit. I’m 5ft 4in. Something to consider if you’re my height or shorter. They serve their purpose well though and I would definitely recommend thick socks when wearing them. My heel slides a bit when I walk and the rubbing, without socks, could be bad! Would recommend these boots OR the shorter ones for sure.

I’m short, 5’2, they come right below my knee so they are hard to drive in but that’s my only complaint!

Exactly what I was looking for. A tall rain boot to allow my feet to stay dry when walking in the deep snow.

Love them! Pretty color

The boots were true to size with enough room for a sock to not feel awkward. There is minimal arch support because it’s a rain boot after all. I have narrow feet and ankles and putting the boots on was kind of snug until you get last a certain point. If you have wide feet and ankles, I’m not sure how this would work out. Overall, I am very satisfied!

I wear a 6.5, but have narrow feet and small calves, so I went with a 6. They fit great, and there’s room for thick socks. Soo stylish! I love them!

These boots are amazing. The material is very durable. I read previous reviews about them being a little big so I bought them one size smaller and they fit perfect! I’m a size 7, I don’t ever purchase 6, however, on this purchase I did and they fit perfect.

After eyeing the original Hunter wellies for years I finally bit the bullet. California has been in a drought so I really couldn't justify purchasing a pair of expensive rain boots, but storms have been rolling in consistently. When I saw the sale price I had to go for it. I went with the Thundercloud color, even though I'm a black boot kind of girl, but I just loved the muted grayish lavender color. I wear an 8.5 in most shoe brands and went with the reviews to size down rather than up and the 8s fit like a dream. They are very tall and kind of hit the bottom edge of my knee when I'm walking but overall it's a good fit. I'm 5'5 and I would consider my calves to be average sized (15" at the biggest part). There was still room to spare in the boot circumference.

These boots are great, super cute and useful. Definitely wanna be able to wear warm and/or thick socks because they are just rubber so not super warm. If you’re concerned about the calf being too narrow just measure yourself first, they give the size in the description. I’m 6’1” so these fit my perfectly height wise but I could def see them being to tall for people with shorter lower legs-again they give the dimensions so it’s pretty easy to check if they fit. Haven’t had them for too long so I can’t speak to durability but I’d guess they last as well as all hunters do.

If you have thunder thighs these are not for you from previous reviews - used them and they do the trick. Normal socks felt fine and being tall no water was able to splash in

Love these boots!!! This is my first pair of Hunter boots and I do love them! However, I did order one size down from what I normally wear. I usually wear a size 7 and I ordered a size 6 and they fit perfectly, they definitely run BIG!!!! My feet are also pretty bad and there's not much arch support in these, but I find that if I wear an insert they're very comfortable. A great boot with lots of style!!!

I'm usually a 10 1/2 or 11, and I don't think the Hunter's women's sizing is as large as people say. The 11 had room, and the 10's were decidedly tight. Also, FYI Thundercloud is a lavender shade, and not gray like it showed up on my monitor. Which is fine, I actually love it! They'll tall, so if you have shorter legs, these might whack you in the kneecaps, but my legs are long so they are perfect. Hopefully, these will last longer than my last pair of rubber boots!

I was so excited these Hunter boots at Zappos. Hunter didn’t have my size and I just love the color. I recently moved to Charleston and rain gear is a must here

Wanted to keep these boots but ended up going with the smaller style. Overall it is a good boot! Trendy, stylish and fun! Always guaranteed to get complements when you where these out!

These are fantastic! I usually wear a size 8.5 shoe and boot, but I was able to get these in a size 8 and they fit perfect. They are not sloppy and they look super cute. I was a little unsure if the color would match the picture and they do! They are not so bright that they stand out, but enough to feel like I am wearing feminine rain boots. They are definitely “tall boots” as the top of them come right up to my knee. The first day I got these I wore them all day without any problems. I highly recommend these, especially if you have been looking at them for awhile. I am ordering another pair!

They fit great. I usually wear size 8 or 8.5. I got size 8 and they fit perfect with Hunter socks.

These were super big and wide. I ordered an 8, and I’m usually an 8 1/2. I could barely get them on and I almost threw out my back getting them off. I don’t have large calves, but these babies were way tight. I’m also 5’2” and the top of the boot rubbed the back of my knees. Super uncomfortable. I returned for the shorter pair, which I love!

They are cute and comfortable however it is extremely hard to take them out (one day I may need to cut it off my legs LOL) and they are a bit too tall for me (I am 5,2 - 5.3) everything else works find

True to size. Very comfortable. Durable. Love the color. Will purchase again in other colors. I am 5’8 and the standard knee height fits my calf perfectly.

I like these boots a lot, but I did notice that they do run large. If you wear a half size, it best to go down 1 1/2 sizes if you like more of snug fit. The color is really nice and they are very comfortable to wear, as well as 100% waterproof.

I really liked the boots and am bummed they didn't work out. With thin work socks, they fit ok; however, to wear a regular pair of socks, let alone boot socks, make the boots uncomfortable. If I went up a size to a 10, they'd be too big. I'll keep trying

Not comfortable for all day wear. I could only wear them with leggings. I am an average to small sized woman and they were tight on my calves.

These boots are super cute and comfy, My only issue is the width of the calf. I play soccer so my calves are a little bigger than normal but im no hulk, you kind of have to do a dance to take them off.
