These boots are only waterproof on the sole, the top lets the water in like a sponge, very misleading to advertise these boots as waterproof. Otherwise they are comfortable and lightweight.

I bought this hiking boot for my nine-year-old son on her recent family summer trip to hike in Glacier Nationsl Forest, Alaska and other parts of Alaska. The boot is light and comfortable and it kept my son's foot dry in the moderate, temperate rainforests that we hiked in. It is a very nice hiking boot and a great value. I highly recommend them. The boot fits true to size. We did not need to go up a size even though my son was wearing wool socks

Second pair of hiking boots I've had from Merrell. First pair lasted 7 years! These are comfortable and supportive of my fallen arches and weak ankle. Grips are great but the true test will come in winter when I wear them in the wet slippery weather.
Highly recommended boot.

kids love that it looks more like a rugged sneaker rather than a hiking boot. We haven't used it yet. I bought this to send to my kids to camp - as a waterproof shoe and hiking shoe. We were also planning on using this for colder weather, when they need snow shoes (only when we go up to the mountains) only about 2 times a year. will update when we have used it some more.

My son really enjoys these shoes. The tread is nice as we live in Wisconsin. They are breathable yet his feet do not get soaked with the snow water we have everywhere this time of year.

We go hiking, and needed a pair of shoes that we're comfortable and would Outlast her. She wore these on a hike, and they kept her feet warm and dry. She was able to be her typical 3 almost 4 year I'll self. Running, climbing, skipping, and playing at the park after. Once she grows out of these we will be buying again!

I still wish you would bring back the shoes that you have discontinued. These shoes are very tight making it somewhat difficult to open then wide enough, to fit my leg braces. Hopefully, they will loosen up over time.

I am very happy with this shoe. Although not perfectly waterproof, I do think that it is waterproof enough based on what other options are available for little feet. They do take a long time to dry after a wet play session, but their feet are not soaked like they would be in a lot of competing products. I would say a lot of the other reviews are a little hard on this shoe.

Nice shoes, definitely waterproof, but hard to put on for younger kids by themselves. I got them for my 5-year old son (his kindergarten class goes on nature walks in any weather). He doesn’t like them that much, since it is so hard for him to put on without my help: the opening is narrow, and you really have to force your foot inside. But his feet are always dry. I got a different brand waterproof sneakers for my other son, and they don’t have the same issue (they have a wider opening and are shorter). Bottom line: good shoe, but not for younger children.

My son is in a size 3W Skechers Boys' Elite Flex - Hydropulse tennis shoe and we ordered a 4W in this shoe. His big toe is almost to the blue fabric at the end already. He hasn't worn them other than to try them on, but said he likes them. These have the really hard and slick type of outer sole which my husband doesn't think holds up as well, but Merrell generally holds up well for us so we'll see how they do. He wore the Merrell Kids Moab FST Polar Mid A/C Waterproof (Big Kid) last year, but they were out of his size this year.

We love this shoe for our 10-year old. Perfect for the colder winter temperatures in Toronto where we don't get snow until January. While it claims waterproof, we did send him to school on a snow-melting day and his feet were soaked...maybe its water resistant? Lesson learned not to do that again! Otherwise a sturdy & supported boot for a very active 10-year old boy!

3 stars cause they arn't jump in the puddle water proof. Wet socks every time.
And they run small at least compared to the brands we've bought in the past.
5 stars for the sneaker comfort and flexibility.
Thumbs up for hiking boot ankle support.

They seem to be more water resistant than waterproof. Will keep your feet dry if it rains but if you get in a puddle, your feet will get soaked. After first wash (in a shoes bag and delicate cycle) the tongue of the shoes came unstiched on the sides, and this was very dissapointing!

I gifted these to my daughter for Christmas and was happy to have found a hiking shoe that I thought would keep her feet warm and dry during winter hikes. Unfortunately, less than a month into wearing them, they left her with wet toes on a very cold day hike when the temps were just below freezing. She stepped off a rock and into a small puddle, then complained that her toes were cold and wet. Her wool socks were indeed wet, just in the toe area.

Bought these for my 8 year old son in April 2020 and by June 2020 they are already going in the trash. After only two months of wear the Velcro strap broke off so my son is no longer able to wear them.

Bought these shoes for my son and after 3 months the mesh ripped on the inside up near the toe. Bought them for a camping trip so had him wear them to school to break them in before the trip and now we have to get new ones again. Very disappointed!!

I purchased these shoes for my son for his new school shoes this year. He wore them three times and the putter lines/decorations are peeling off already. I emailed Merrell about it and they agreed to replace them if I cut the tongues off of the shoes. That means I now have to buy son a new pair of shoes to wear to school while I wait for Merrell to send out a replacement pair. I'm glad they are backing their product, but I now have the buy another additional pair of shoes due to their poor craftsmanship.
