This is my first big purchase when it comes to buying backpacks but I think its worth the price for sure. I don't do outdoor hikes or anything, I got into this brand because of the design and high quality of the products. Since this backpack is nicely designed, so even If I need to carry my 13 inch macbook pro, the nice padded straps and back area definitely makes it A LOT MORE COMFORTABLE to carry the weight. But I do realize the shape of the backpack is a bit longer compared to the regular backpacks we see out there. I am not sure if the longer shape is beneficial when it comes to outdoor activity but I am getting used to it so it does not bother me as much. Not sure about this backpack for outdoor activities because I have never tried it, but I highly recommend this backpack if you wanna treat yourself nicer (especially your back) if you are like me who needs to carry heavy stuff everyday but complains about back pain

This is an amazing pack, it can be loaded up way beyond 16 litres. 15inch MacBook Pro 2018 model fits perfectly with space to spare. Can easily throw your water bottle in the front compartment along with your gym clothes. The material feels amazing.
The straps have great comfort and make the carry feel light. The hand strap has a soft to tough but extremely durable feel.
It's a great pack you won't be disappointed.

Bought it as a travel backpack. Very sleek. Take it out of the package, stuff it with things, in the form you want it, and leave it for a while. Comes shipped all out of whack. I put several small fleece blankets in there with some stress balls to give it shape and get the creases out of it. Laptop sleeve holds my tablet. Top pocket holds my sunglass case easily. Very well made. Love the heavy material. Stiff at first. I can see where the "rubberized" zippers are waterproof, but I havent tested them. I love iy so far. Remeber it is 16L l, so it isnt a horse of a pack.

I've had this for just over a year now and it has steadily become the pack that I reach for in daily use. The nice clean simple design has been commented on by friends more than once, but it's the practicality and durability that keep me coming back to use it so often.
It has kept the contents nice and dry on a number of unexpectedly showery days. The capacity seems somehow greater than the "16" would suggest, and I find this bag so much more usable than the Granville 20 which I also have.

I'm adding a comparative review because I researched like crazy before purchasing this one. I was considering Evergoods, but at 20l size, their smallest felt bigger than what I was looking for. I also looked at Aer, but I am not a fan of that middle zipper bisecting the pack. I wanted to like Osprey, they were very comfortable, but I'm not a fan of their designs, Cotopaxis were just a little too busy, even their simplest. I looked at a few others as well. I often ride my bike to work so the sternum strap was a personal requirement for me.
I was nervous about the minimal interior organization, but maybe they got it right. The laptop compartment easily fits my Dell Lattitude 5520 15.6" laptop. The stretchy zippered compartment in front of the laptop packet holds a bunch of cables, adaptors, etc. I haven't really used file slot behind the laptop pocket - it's a bit tight, and two then notebooks slipped easily next to my laptop in its compartment. The dual-accessed front area is perfect for stuffing a sweatshirt or jacket into, without cramping the main compartment area. The quick access pocket on top is a great size. For me, it typically holds my largish eyeglasses case, wallet, iPhone mini, and keys. The shoulder straps are very comfortable. Sternum strap adjusts easily, and is removable if preferred.
I'd say my only complaint, but not a surprise, is that the thin but nicely padded back doesn't have any advanced ventilation fabric or channels. (That was a big plus in my book for Osprey.)
To summarize:
Looks: 5/5 (perfect size, beautiful patterning and overall form and shape, and awesome zippers.)
Organization: 4.5/5 (if you want pocket pencil holders, this is not your bag.)
Materials quality: 5/5
Comfort: 4/5 (lost 1 point for sweaty back after bike ride to work.)
Capacity: 5/5 (you can really stuff a lot into
this bag)

Looks great out of the "box" and easily fit my 15 inch laptop, mouse, adapter, phone etc with lots of room to spare. I'm sure it can fit a few items of clothing and be used for a short work trip. Also looks burly enough for outdoor activity use, but I have dedicated bags for that and prob won't use this one for that purpose

Have had for over two years and travel weekly with it. Great for a 1-2 night trip. Light, simple and bullet-proof. Pair it with a packing cube and it can hold much more than you would expect when you look at it.

I've used this backpack as a daily and travel use for about a month now. It fits all the uses I've been in search for - for a long time. The quick access pocket on top is very useful and can fit more than just sun glasses. The zippers may not glide as easy when using one hand, but I like that as the bag and zippers are more sturdy. The bag is not too big and not too small, easily fits my 14 inch laptop plus another bigger one in the main compartment if needed along with a night of clothes. Love the side zipper space which is also accessible from the inside main compartment. Wonderful design, sits comfortable on my back, and very useful day to day!

I replaced my six year old Blade 20 with the Granville 16L. The Granville 16 is lighter, carries more, more durable and more water resistant than the Blade 20L. As far as I can determine the AC2 material of the Granville is the future of urban every day carry (edc). I watched a YouTube video where the guy appeared to put three 12 oz six packs in the Granville 16L. The interior is a good fit for a Surface Pro or an iPad Pro. This back pack is so, so impressive because all the seams and zips are water resistant. The AC2 material is very functional in a wet environment.

I just purchased this backpack and so far it is great. I was worried that 16L would be too small but it surprisingly has a lot of room and in my opinion, is comparable to other bags that are 18-20L range. It has a sleek, minimal look which is great for a daily commute. I have not had a chance to test the water resistance but it has a solid build and the seams are taped so I do not expect any issues. I really like the material of which it is constructed and the overall design and organization are well thought out.

I bought the Granville 16 Zip Backpack to function as a work/office pack. I have grown fond of packs without hipbelts, so the Granville comes through here. The chest strap works well, providing a snug feel when walking. The internal sleeve for my laptop is well padded and offers a tight fit. The two internal zipper pockets are well designed. The three outer zippers are well placed. I have found the right-side zipper to be ingenuous. It allows access without opening the pack from the top, and is the perfect storage space for laptop accessories. While the Granville 16 is small, it has a deceptive ability to expand without looking stretched.

I've been an Arcteryx fanatic for years and my favorite go-to travel carry-on back pack was the Arro 16 but apparently it was coveted equally by a San Francisco criminal who stole it out of my rental car a few years ago and I was unable to replace it with anything remotely as good until now. I bought an Arro 22 but it is too big and too narrow at the top and doesn't accommodate a laptop or iPad. Well all is well now because the Granville 16 is pretty close to the Arro 16 and maybe better. I want this primarily for a travel carry on pack and that means I need to have a nice substantial grab handle at the top and this has that. I need it to be all weather for lugging around sloppy places like Ireland and it has the wonderful waterproof fabric and zippers to keep it dry. Sometimes I need to sling it over my shoulders thru airports and Lake District hikes and it has the thicker foam shoulder straps that you can wear for miles. My iPad or laptop has a nice pocket easily accessed and my knickknack travel things go in the front pocket easily. The size is perfect and can hold a couple of days of clothing without letting me overload. It has been a long wait but I have finally found a replacement for my old friend the Arro 16... and if I could find that San Francisco thief I would cram him into my Arro 22 and throw it off the Golden Gate Bridge.

I've had this for about a week now. I'm a bit of a bag snob/hoarder. So far, so good. I have it loaded up with my EDC and there is still room to carry my lunch to work during the work week. I suspect it is a little larger than the 16 Liter specification but that's okay. I have pretty heavy OCD when it comes to organizing my stuff. This is working out perfectly. I appreciate that I can use it as it was intended...and maybe get a little dirty...but it cleans ups easily with just a swipe of a wet paper towel.

Fits 15.4" MacBook Pro or smaller laptops in flexible laptop sleeve. Behind the laptop sleeve is a second, more narrow sleeve that will fit a 10.5" laptop, but a zipper slider inside the sleeve may scratch anything you put in there.
Side pocket nicely holds spare clothing, e.g. my Zeta FL Jacket, Zeta SL Pants, fleece cap and gloves.
Main compartment holds other daily essentials, bag uses the 16L capacity very well
In summary a really nice bag, will second as a go bag packed in a larger piece of luggage or as a carry on when traveling.

I wanted a smaller waterproof bag with a sternum-strap and ended up with this. Coming from an older Granville 28(?) with magnetic closures I was a little worried this was going to be too small, being rated at 16L. However, this is not at all an issue for me. Since there is very very little internal organization (minus the laptop sleeve, document compartment, and small zippered pouch), the bag just forms around the items you put in there.
I feel like this bag will fit everything I need on a daily basis almost as comfortably as my "larger" Granville. The separate compartments do make it a bit nicer to find things, as opposed to the one-compartment style of the older Granville. The outer material is very durable seems like it will last a while. It has been quite rainy lately so I can assert that this thing is certainly waterproof and keeps my laptop dry. There is this nifty little zipper on the inside that allows access to the front side-zip compartment form the main compartment (zipper shown in the laptop detail picture). Speaking about the side zip, it provides easy access on the go by just swinging one side of the strap off your shoulder and around your body. Super convenient. The bag also has a small loop on the front face for a bike light or anything you can hook onto it. The logo is also reflective. I bought this over the newer roll-top/flap Granville 20 because they got rid of the magnets (I kind of liked those) and it looks a bit square with a bunch of things in it (although I did really like the layout of the bag in general). Overall, I've been using this for a couple weeks with a lot of rainy weather and I am super happy with the purchase. With this small size, I am really looking forward to taking this bag on trips.
